I have a 2004 SF LX 3.5L. The switch for the heated seats does not light when depressed- either R or L. Unless the heated seat temperature is quite low, the seats do not appear to be heating. I also noticed that the fuse in the Heated Seat position was a 25A instead of the recommended 15A. I replaced the 25A with a 15A.
At this point I assume it could be either the switch or the heater...

We recently had our 2002 Santa Fe detailed at 100K miles. After we picked it up from the detailer, it began slipping out of drive into overdrive (#2). The vehicle is an automatic. Neutral to Drive puts the car in 3rd Overdrive, but as we stop it slips slowly into 1st until we've arrived at a complete stop.
We recently checked the tranny oil before a road trip and the levels were...

Does anyone know a quick and easy way to disable that door bell sound when you open the door or unbuckle your seat belt with the engine running? I know it's there for our safety but I've got my reasons so no speech please.

I've noticed that when I turn on the AC there's a musty smell leaving the vents.
It smells like mildew or cat pee. It goes away after about 5 minutes.
What could be causing this?
Could there be standing water in a duct somewhere that can be cleaned?
Thanks,
Rick

Hello Everyone,
2001 Sante Fe 140,000Mi
Need some help again. My A/C compressor is shot, but no money to replace that.
The last few weeks or so my fan would only really blow on high, there was only a trickle coming out of the vents when on any setting but high. Occasionally it would not blow at all unless I wiggled the knob a bit in the dash. Then it would come...

I'm changing my front brake pads out on my 2003 SantaFe today and I was wondering if there are any things I need to watch out for or be carefull with?
I've done minor repair work on other vehicles with one other disc brake pad replacement on another vehicle we own. The brake pad replacement seemd rather straightforward when I did it.
Is there anything specific to the...

Hi - I have a base-model Santa-Fe 2004. Recently, I found the fuel gauge to be registering zero and in fact the "No Fuel" warning light was on. I immediately pulled over and started pumping in fuel but registered a full tank when it was only about 10 gallons. The fuel gauge now showed "Full Tank". When about half-empty tank again the needle dropped to zero! This has...

In late 2005 I started conducting my own reliability research. I'm reporting absolute stats like "times in the shop" that will make the differences between cars much clearer. Relative ratings obscure too much--how large is the difference between "better than average" and "worse than average"? I’ll also be updating results four times a year, so there will be...

I have a very annoying problem when I go to put gas into my Santa Fe V6 2002.
I put the nozzle in and after like ten seconds the nozzle shuts off. And this is the same thing at every gas station I go. So my logic is telling me that it's not the nozzles at the gasstations. Do you guys have any idea what causes this problem ?

Have a 2001 Santa Fe with approximately 120,000 miles. It is 2WD automatic transmission. While driving we have been noticing that the tranny seems to stay in 2nd and not changing to 3rd to make a smooth change in gear. If we use the manual mode of the transmission, we have no problem going from 2nd to 3rd to 4th. This happens only when we are in drive. Any idea what this can be and is it...

I have an 04 Santa Fe, I was wondering when it comes to changing your oil intervals is it more important to pay attention to the number of km's or the number of months.
As they say change it every 5000 km's or every 3 months.
In three months I never get close to 5000 km's, so far now for the 3 months I did 2500 km's.

2003 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.5 with a service light and a PO183 checked and cleared at auto Zone. Trouble code came back 30 minutes later.

Any new ideas?

I have a 2004 Santa Fe. I noticed that on my rear passenger door the bottom right corner of the door molding that is on the bottom of the door had come off a bit.
Can someone tell me what holds the molding on the door? I thought it was some type of clip or something like that.
I was going to try and give it a good push to put it back in place but I wasn't sure if that would work.

Hi all
My car is a 2001 v6 2.7l AWD Santa Fe. Just this week the rear differential had a bearing go out, so the dealer says. Symptoms roaring noise similar to a wheel bearing gone but as I had suspected from my own examination it was not.
How unfortunate! the new differential is 1450 dollars! plus labour a 1800 dollar hole in my pocket!
This seems mad...

Has anyone wondered why in Santa Fe maintenance manual it indicates us to change the timing belt at 60K but it's only a recommended act for CA? I inquired from Hyundai and talked to a lawyer. It seems for CA, there's a law which states if car company mandates a service request which normally goes beyond some XXX $$ generally, it really has to prove first it's mandatory. Thus,...
