My wife has a '04 Tiburon Special Edition (Tuscani). She plans to add several personal touches (i.e., Sirius radio, new door sills, mud guards, and some others). She has already swapped out all the Tiburon logos for Tuscani logos on the wheels, hood and rear.
My question is suggestions on good vendors for accessories for her car.
Thanks.

I'm trying to start a new Tiburon exclusive car club in GA. You can visit the website....
http://gateamtiburon.proboards43.comIt's the message boards for GT2. Feel free to browse the site. We are based out of Columbus, GA. I know we don't have many members, but I'm hoping to change that. You can ask any questions by posting, emailing or IMing me.

This is my first post to this forum!
Is there a way to adjust the volume of the subwoofer in the Tiburon GT models? I've heard of other cars that have an amp with an adjustment screw on them to control the "gain" (i.e. volume) of the factory subwoofer.
Thanks in advance,
Brad Davis

Has anyone else had problems with their emergency brake sticking on in cold weather? I had this problem and I took my car into the dealership to have it repaired on January 14th and I have yet to get my car back!! They say that the part in on national back order and that I should have my car back tomorrow. But who knows? I just can't believe that it has taken them 12 business days to get emergency brake cables in.

Hey all,
New member here--I presently own a 2002 Hyundai Elantra.
Just graduated from college, and got my first *real* job, so it's about time to look for a new ride.
I LOVE the Tiburon, and am considering purchasing a GT with the 6 spd. Though it's a quick car, I'm always game for something quicker. I've driven the SRT-4. It's fast as all heck, obviously, but ugly as sin. And "still a Neon." I've also driven the Saturn Ion Redline. Not as quick as the SRT, but, alas, quicker than the Tib. Handles better, too. So, I'm torn--I like the Tib, but I do like the looks of the Saturn, and it is a bit quicker.
So--I've researched supercharging kits for the Tib 2.7 V6, specifically the Alpine which will bump power to about 220, or so. With the 6 spd, I imagine this to be quite a quick ride.
However, I wish to know--will this void the Tib's warranty? I like Hyundai's warranty (my Elantra's been worked on a few times, and never a prob w/ the dealer), but I also like the fact that the Redline has 205 WHP without any upgrades. I'm not sure what the Tib's WHP is (I imagine it being less than the stated 172 HP), but 30 some odd horsepower makes a big difference.
Or--what other sorts of mods could I do to the Tib to get it to that magical 200 HP number w/o fudging the warranty?
Any help is appreicated! I'd love to stay in the Hyundai family, but the Saturn, strangely, is calling my name (esp. when I can get an '04 model, new off the lot for about 16k).

The 5 spd manual remains the base transmission for the I4 Tibs however the 6 spd is now the base for the v6 Tuscani . The 4 spd auto is optional on all versions.

I hoping to find someone on this forum that modified there car and wants to sell there stock body parts. I need a front bumper cover, Hood, Left front fender, and both headlights. My Email is Jbumann@neb.rr.com

Hey all I am trying a new adventure-I am going to change my own oil and air filter. My ex-boyfriend has aways changed my oil but since he is now my ex I am going to do it on my own. I have changed the oil on a car before, but never on my Tibby. I guess what I need to know is exactly where the oil drain bolt is and in what order I need to go in-its been a while. Also I have a new air filter to put in and I am just wondering if it is as easy as popping out the old and putting in the new. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction. Please help me out! Thanks a lot!!!! Megs

I really hope someone has an answer to this one.
When the outside temp falls below approx 40 degrees Farenheit, my car refuses to start on the 1st attempt. The engine turns, it starts, but then it stalls and I have to start the car again. This winter, we have been having some unusually cold temps (for those of you in Canada--DON'T LAUGH

and the temp has dropped to almost zero. On those mornings, I have to make a 3rd attempt to start the car.
Keep in mind, I try to let the car run on its own, hoping it will fast idle, but at best, the car will just idle slightly above normal idle speed until it is warmed up and I'm assuming is no longer operating in a closed-loop system.
The dealership insists on me leaving the car with them overnight. They claim they will connect to the computer and the car could tell them what's going on during this very brief cold start up. I don't believe them, because I thought the closed loop start up doesn't involve the computer's adjustment of fuel mix, timing, etc.?
Does anyone else have this problem and, if so, did you get it fixed? What was the problem? I wish the dealership would just go ahead and change a sensor like a cold start up valve or something, instead of insisting that they don't have a clue what it could be. The first time I took it in with the complaint, the guy testing the Throttle position switch and said it was bad, replaced it but it never solved the problem.

Im looking into getting headers for my 03' tibby gt. I already have an injen ses exhaust and an injen intake.... But i have heard that headers in all reality are a waste of money... now i on the other hand dont completely believe that! If its less restriction then that means more horsepower... am i right?? I want my car to be louder also but i dont want to lose my Cat. converter, i dont feel like dealing with issues with the computer! So... are they really a waste of money or is it worth it?? I know there is not going to be a HUGE difference just a lil something extra ya know?? So someone help me out......
GO WITH IT OR DONT???

Here we go.....
in order to do this you have to buy the clear covers..they are here:
http://www.dreamka4u.com/products.php?id=4...7&op=__reader__...and a few other places
first off the oven trick WILL NOT WORK (i will tell you why in the DIY). All i mostly used was a dremel and a dremel set i bought for $10 with cutting disks, and other little wierd dremeling things in it..most important for me was the cutting disks. I also used a tube of black silicone sealant also known as RTV. You might also want a pair of gloves and crappy clothes cause you can cut yourself very easily and dust from the plastic gets EVERYWHERE while you are going at it....
This is what i started with :

first i stuck a screw in the lense where i cut my first piece off and held the screw so the piece would not fall in and gouge anything up (sorry i didnt get a pic of the screw in the lense) .. i then used the cutting wheel to score the plastic of the whole lense. i found this made it easier to pull and break the lense apart. i tried without scoring it and it was WAY harder :

After you break the lense off you are left with a red border from the lense being attached to the rest of the tail light. It seems that the lense was almost melted or plastic welded on which is why the oven trick wont work. Pick your dremel bit of choice and dremel off all that excess red lense around the border.. it should look something like this when you're done:

I was going to leave mine chrome but after seeing how easily they scratched (i scratched them, its hard not to do) i decided to paint them the same color as my headlight bezels. I used painter's blue tape (low adhesive tape you can get at the hardware store) to tape off the sections i wanted to leave chrome (the parts the lights stay in). i just ran the tape on the inside lip and let some stick up out of it..i them folded the tape over and taped across to seal them up so no paint would get in:

OK...as some of you know..i ordered the clear side markers from kspec. Here is the link to them :
http://www.kspec.com/list.php?ac_id=92&ai_id=861 i recieved them this week and decided to do the install this morning... Here are the tools i used :
-Dremel with cutting wheels (a bunch, cause they break and wear down quick)
-10mm socket for wheel well bolts
-#2 phillips head for the fasteners in the wheel wells
-Soldering iron and solder for the wires
-wire for the lights (i used some leftover speaker wire i had)
-Blue Painter's Tape (leaves no sticky residue when pulled off)
-Touch Up Paint (so that the exposed metal doesn't rust)
-Black Electrical Tape
-Zip Ties
-Razor Blade
-Safety Goggles (you dont want metal shavings or hot solder in your eyes!)
ok..so here we go......
these are the side markers...i am ordering titanium bulbs to go in them so that you cant see any orange when they are off

these are the templates YellowTuscRcr in canada sent me to position the side markers

I taped the template on the car using painter's tape and stenciled in the shape with a sharpie marker

I then used the painter's tape and taped around the stencil just in case i slipped a little bit with the dremel

Then i went to work with the cutting wheels being very carefull not to slip (which i didnt, thank god).. i tried the stone and metal bits first but they just didnt work at all except to scratch the hell out of the metal..the cutting wheels work surprisingly well...as i cut, i kept trying to put the side marker in as i went along so that i wouldnt cut the hole too big....i ended up needing to make changes in the size of the hole to accomidate the side marker...this is what i ended up with

Hi there, I'm new around these parts.

I just bought a (new to me) '03 Tuscani about two weeks ago after drooling over the darn things for years. Well, there are a few small modifications I wanted to do to it (and a large one or two) and I was curious what the good sites around are.
I came across Shark Racing early in my search and they seem to have a lot of what I'm looking for. One part in particular I'd like to order in the next few days actually. Anyway, my question is: Is SharkRacing a good company to buy from? Why or why not?
I checked with the Better Business Bureau and there seems to have been a few issues with unresponsiveness from the staff at SharkRacing. I was wondering what your thoughts and opinions are? Also I noticed their order form doesn't appear to be secure. Is it, and I'm just missing something, or should I just move on and find a different site?
Thanks in advance!
Arkon

Hi there, I'm looking for some reviews of the 05 auto Tiburon. My wife just got a licence and doesn't feel so comfortable driving/ parkling my vehicle). I like the look of the Tiburon and it looks pretty economical as an everyday car and an auto is essential. Has anyone tried it on winter roads yet? And are there many options for aftermarket rims?

I have owned my 2003 tiburon for almost 2 years now. 1 year and 11 months to be exact. When I test drove it before I bought it, i burned the clutch out (it only had 500 miles on it). Granted I was not an expert with 6 speed manual transmissions but the clutch dropped after going 10 miles with me in it. Of course I should have let that discourage from buying it, but I loved the design of the vehicle and the specs so I wanted it badly. The delaership said they would totally replace the clutch and they supposidly put a new one in. Well after only 28k miles the clutch is starting to go out. When I start the car in neutral it does nto want to go into first. When I am at a stoplight and in gear with my foot on the clutch the torque is still trying to pull the car slightly. I have done no modifications to the car, I drive it very well. I don't race it or drive it hard. A standard clutch on any car should not give out at less than 50-60k miles at least! The dealership wants to replace the clutch, bearings, clute plate, and flywheel. The flywheel? That should last the life of the car!? Unless it is a peice of garbage.
I have been checking all around the net and found that I am no where near alone in this. There are hundreds of people with the same complaints with their clutch going out on specifically the 5sp and 6sp manual tiburons from 2003. I feel or at least know now, it was a defective clutch or flywheel put into the vehicle. The cost to repair was quoted at 1700 and I don't feel it is fair to pay for a defective part when it is not your fault for the deficientcy. Plus I don't have that kind of money to spend. There are hundred of complaints from people at other sites if you just look up clutch problems for tiburons in yahoo search.
I like my car, I know my clutch will go out soon. I can't afford to shell out that kind of money, and it is still under warrenty. The BBB has already resolved at least one case where a person had their clutch repairs reinbursed to them from their hyndai dealership. I just wanted to bring this to your attention if you were unaware of this. Because other than the clutch, I would have no complaints about this vehicle. Many people have already filed a complaint with the BBB and when I go to the dealer I am sure they will turn me away and blame it on my driving rather than fess up to faulty engineering. Oh well, at least I have the proof that my clutch burned out on a test drive on paper. A sports car should not have such a weak clutch, it should be able to take s
