I went to the dealership today and looked at the 06 GS automatic. The salesman is offering me the car for $16,900. What do you guys think is that a good deal or do you think I can talk him down a bit more? Have any of you bought the GS for a better price? Maybe through the Costco program or fleet department?
I have heard a lot of horror stories about the dealership not sticking to their word about the 100k warranty. Is the Tuberon just as reliable as a Honda or Toyota?
-Thanks

Hi everyone,
I think I really want to get a Tiburon. I especially like the orange crush SE...but the problem is that my head scrapes against the ceiling. I've heard that this is a problem with the sunroof-equipped models. Does anyone have any advice on how to increase the headroom on this car? Maybe lower the seat or something?
Also, does anyone know if the non-sunroof equipped models offer substantially more headroom?
Thanks,
Charlie

Hi Guys,
First post so go easy on me!!
Just got my '03 Hyundai Coupe 2.0L (Euro Tiburon) and wanted to get a decent CAI kit. I was looking at the Injen and AEM models but I'm unsure as to which brand to get, any ideas which give the best performance gains?
Also, the AEM model mentions something about a 'NON MAF' version for my car, i know this is something to do with Air Flow but to what end does it effect installing this model CAI on my car?
On last thing - would changing the Injectors to a larger CC size give any performance boosts?
Thanks in advance guys!

Has anyone ever noticed that the side mirrors kinda obstruct their view? or is it just me?!?!

I have looked online and have found aftermarket replacement but they are all for the older models not my 2003. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I have a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon V6 with 53,000 miles on it.
It has been taking longer and longer to start. (Usually the second try gets it, but sometimes three or four.) My service department ran an "overall inspection," thought it was the battery, and replaced it. Later that night when it had been sitting "cold" for awhile (not literally cold, however) it took 4-5 times to start.
They can't reproduce this now at the dealer (I left it there this morning), but they say on the phone that having to turn the starter multiple times is "not necessarily" a problem. (It does feel like a problem to me when it takes 4-5 times to start.) I need some perspective, does this sound silly to anyone else out there?
Thanks in advance for your advice!
Jeff

Hello All,
I am considering buying a new 2005 Tiburon SE. I am worried though. I have been doing some research and have seen a lot of reviews and forums about clutch problems. I do NOT work on cars. I drive them, wash them, have them serviced, and that is about it. I do not want to replace parts with after market, etc...
Could you please offer me some insight. I am very familiar with the Hyundai brand. I currently own a 99 Tiburon FX, and a 2002 Santa Fe. I have had no problems at all. However, I am concerned about all the bad reviews I am reading regarding new Tib problems, mainly the clutch.

http://www.thejuiceboxcompany.com/ yes it looks like all the other pieces of crap that are sold online I was just wanting to make sure that it really was before considering buying one. I just want to know the pros/cons of such a product I bought something like it for a older car that I owned and it did seem to give it a little more boost off the line but I don't know about my tibby I want to take care of my baby

AEM is looking for a 2006 Tiburon GT for research and development. We would be test fitting our current Tiburon Cold air intake kit. We are located in Hawthorne, CA. So we are looking for someone that lives in Southern California area. The whole process usually takes 3 hours. For your cooperation you will receive a free cold air intake system. If you are interested please go to the following link and fill out a Vehicle Submission form. [URL=

I'm looking into trading my black 2005 Kia Spectra5 (12kmiles) wheels on a base Tibby GS manual.
The Spectra5 is stock except for tint and O.Z. Superleggera wheels.
I don't really need a 5 door, and both cars have the same 2.0 Beta engine...so I think this would be a comfortable move.
This will be my daily driver/commuter car, so I don't need to go buy a gtv6. I want to focus on the 2 upkeep of my 2 vintage bmw cca concours bmws.
SO if I mod the tibby..it would just be a full true coil-over kit with high performance BFG Gforce T/A KD tires. I need to have my cars lowered
Being that the 06's are in full swing...when should I expect to see some rebates?
I'm just sick of the Spectra (got rear ended, insurance fixed it) I don't care that that it was properly repaired. Now I don't want it anymore. It's just not the same to me.
Besides
I want a coupe coupe bad.
...surprisingly the Tib GS is the same price that I paid for my Spectra5!
I really think this would be a smart move.
What do you guys think?

Hi from the UK
I'm new to this forum, so still feeling my way - but can anyone tell me where the pollen filter is located on my late-2004 2 litre coupe? I decided not to pay the extortionate charge that the dealer wanted - so what I'd like to do is to locate it, remove it, clean it and put it back. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I just joined and thought I would drop in and say hi. I have a 03 tiburon with the 2.0. and I was just wondering what would be the easiest way to get a little more power off the start? If you really get on it the car seems to stall a little. So far I have only did a few small changes to the look of the car like tinting the windows and installing a better stereo and speaker set up. but I think I want to start on getting a little more power out of it. anyone that could help me out I would be really thankful plus links to where I can get the stuff at a decent price would also be helpful. BTW the car still has about 10,000 miles on the warrenty so I would like to not void that

thanks in advance and I look forward to chat with you guys often in the coming months.

Just thought I'd let you into a weird little situation we had this weekend.
We bought a vent ring kit from k-spec. All was fine and dandy, the parts looked and fitted beautifully. The good lady comes to go to work on Monday morning and the car won't start. Most peculiar. Anyway, after much headscratching and eliminating everything I could, there was only one answer left ........
Part of the vent ring kit is an aluminium escution plate that fits round the ignition switch ...... would you believe that this little bugger was enough to block the code from the transponder in the key from reaching the decoder in the barrel ......... the car didn't recognise the key & therefore wouldn't start .... remove the offending escution and she fires up without any problems... not best chuffed to say the least & we're just waiting to hear back from k-spec to see if they've got a good answer!
Attached pic is the little blighter ........ hope this prevents anyone else having the same probs!

Hi everybody,
Recently I try to think which car is beautifull and rare on roads. Well could be either fast. In that way I have found a Hyundai Coupe.
Can you tell me how much fun does this car give to it`s owner?
Does it broke easily or often?
What about back seats, I`ve heard there aren`t much space in there!
Someone drives 2.0 liter engine, how fast can it go?
Well thanks for any information

Hi Guys,
Tiburon 2.7 2005 model.
I recently bought a Sony Mex R5 head unit and have a problem.
All installed and working apart from one thing. That is, I configure the clock, bass, treble settings and the next morning I turn on and it has lost all of its settings - back to factory settings! I have done this 3/4 times but the same results.
I wonder if this is related to power somewhere? My tib has standard ISO connectors; one for speakers and the other for power - I plugged the sony ISO leads; one into the speaker iso on the car and the other into the power iso on the car. All worked apart from maintaining its settings.
Do I need to re-wire any permanent power to the head unit - I would have thought the ISO connectors were already wired with this.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Menacez

Hi all
My 2005 Hyundai Coupe 2.0 has covered 3500 miles. I've just had to top up with about 3/4 litre of oil.
Is this to be expected???
The reason I'm asking is, as all previously 'new' cars I've owned, albeit not Hyundais, I have never needed to top up the oil.
I just usually change at about 5-6000 miles and then leave until the next schedule, and they have never used/lost any. I plan to do the same with my Hyundai.

Are CAI's supposed to get hot? I'm new to this so not really sure. My CAI gets hot sometimes and I'm not really racing it, going about 60 to 70 mph, max 80mph because I need new tires and don't want to risk wrecking. Anyway, mine was hot one day and was wondering if it was supposed to get REALLY, REALLY hot.

HI - I have a 2003 Tiburon, earlier this week my wife found she could not shift into 2nd or fourth. The next day I tried the car, it worked fine. Later that day I found I was unable to shift into any of the rear shifter positions, 2nd, 4th, 6th or reverse.
By giving it a good yank, I eventyually got it into 2nd, now all the gears seem to work fine. Has anyone else encountered this?
Thanks

i am looking for a good web site to find upgrade performance parts for my 03 Tiburon GT. i just bought it and this import tuner thing is new to me. checking on the sites i just cant find the part i am looking for. this is what i mean.
i would like to put a new gas door on because it is a white car and the plastic is turning yellow but i can not find a brushed all. one to change it to(that is the only non performance upgrade)
do they have chips for these cars because the only one is see is $50 and i dont see that working since the one for my Mustang was 400. a chip or computer programer would be great.
i see the cold air intakes all of the time but what about throttle bodys? maybe a bigger one with the cold air.
i figure with the chip or programer, cold air, pulley, throttle body i could get a few extra horses?
i need some idea's to get some horse power with out making me broke.
thanks

Hello,
I'm a new user to this site, the reason I'm here is because I'm looking at buying a 2003 Tiburon GT. So I figured this might be a good spot to start with a few simple questions.
I keep hearing from friends and relatives that Tiburons = Junk!? I'm not sure where they're getting their information from, but most of them are just big GM an
