I have a 2.7 V6 2005 tib that just recently started making a clicking sound when I turn left or right. It has been identified as the right front knuckle. I keep looking online for the part but can only find it for the 2.0.
Anyone know of any sites that offer this part?

Hey guys I couldn't find what I was looking for so I guess I will ask. I have the I4, would making it a single exhaust give me more power? I bought and installed an exhaust from APEXi, full exhaust and it comes out to dual mufflers, i love the exhaust but i've seen tibbys running around with a single exhaust. would my tibby benefit from buying an exhaust that ends as a single?

Ever since I got my car in late March last year I've been using 5/20 synthetic blend as recommended by the shop when I go in for an oil change. The prices have gone up over the year though, and now it costs me about 50 dollars after taxes. My question is: for the I-4 engine does it really matter if I use synthetic or not? because the regular one is about 12 dollars cheaper, or does it involve more details than that. I would like to save a few bucks if possible, but I wouldn't want to do that if it isn't good for my car.

I just got a DDin GPS installed in my 08 Tiburon, and I'm looking to sell the stock Kenwood CD player/XM tuner that came with the car.
Is anyone here interested, or know a good place I could sell it?
Thanks.

So, is the new Genesis Coupe going to replace the Tiburon? Are they going to discontinue the Tiburon when it comes out? I remember when Toyota replaced the Supra with Celica, and then Celica with the Scions. I really hope that Hyundai doesn't do this; as fun as rear wheel drive cars are, I really like driving a front wheel drive.

does anyone know where to hook up a fuel pressure gauge sending unit? or is there an existing wire i can piggy-back to directly from the gauge itself? according to the instructions, i'm supposed to install the sending unit directly into the fuel rail, but i don't see any threaded hole for it. also, where's the best place to run a vacumn gauge from? i had it connected to the reserve tank (between the reserve tank and the fuel rail) but it was causing problems. is there a better place that won't interfere with other components?

Hi, I am looking for a shorty antenna for my 350Z and found a cool one but it is for the Tiburon. It looks like it fits. I was wondering if any of you can tell me what the size of the antenna base is for the Tiburon and what size the mounting studs are for the antenna...Thanks!!!

Hey guys, I'm an Accent guy but I told a buddy of mine I would look around for any Tib owners in the DFW area of Tx that have turbo'd their rides...He's having some trouble with what looks like oil burning and the smoke coming out the exhaust. Not sure if that makes sense, but there is a noticeable grayish-blue smoke from the tailpipes. Not sure of his setup or anything, but would like to know how many of you guys might be able to give him a hand.
Send me a msg or drop me an email and I'll fill you in with some more info.

Thnx ahead of time.

Hi all!
I just bought a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon GT w/ around 27,000 miles on it. Everything is stock, except for new rear tires and a body kit at this point. I sold my Jeep Wrangler to buy this car, so I really have no idea what I'm in for. I want to keep the car looking pretty close to original, but would like help figuring out what to do to make it mine.
First off, I really dislike the shifter's height. I would like help trying to find a shorter shift knob (no, I'm not referring to shorter-throw of shifting, although I may do that as well). Once I get that, I'd like to install a cold air intake system, new fog lights for the body kit, and Aero Force Tech gauages.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be willing to listen. I have some money to spend on upgrades and mods, so don't feel stupid to suggest something! Thanks!

why does my 03" hyundai tiburon have 3 cats? i just found out that there are 2 cats in the exhaust manifold, as well as 1 in the main exhaust pipe. with the use of headers, i am getting a cel code due to the removal of the manifold cats. in terms of legalities, are these 2 cats doing anything that the main one isn't? i've read that the lower 2 oxygen sensors can be relocated behind the main cat to provide catalytic info. will i be able to pass emissions?

i'm concerned about the heat from my headers drying out the rest of the engine compartment, especially the electronics. i drive a lot (about 20,000 miles/annually) and have heard stories about harnesses, vacumn lines, and senors wearing out prematurely due to the extra heat produced by exhaust headers. i picked up some header tape which is meant to keep the heat in the pipes. my mechanic says i will destroy the headers cos the heat has no where to go and that the header stays hot longer. anyone ever hear of this, or has had any problems from header heat?

I have just purchased a 2005 Tiburon GT and am interested in replacing the factory head unit. The car came with the Infinity Sound System (six speakers plus amp and sub) and has the standard looking double DIN head unit. I printed out the wiring diagram and took it to Best Buy to show the installers in case they had not seen the system before.
The installer at Best Buy told me that any aftermarket head unit will work when coupled with the correct wiring harness adapter and trim kit. I went to Circuit City, however, and their installer told me that I would have to replace EVERYTHING (all six speakers, amp, and sub) in order to install an aftermarket head unit.
Does anyone have any user experience with replacing (or having replaced) a head unit in a comparable Tiburon? My goal is to keep the existing speakers, amp, and sub as is, and simply replace the double DIN head unit with a nicer single DIN unit that supports the iPod. Was Best Buy correct in saying that this will work, or was Circuit City correct in saying that none of the existing wiring can be used?
Thanks.

Hi all,
I hope you can provide some input. My son sold the 07 Sonata GLS that we had bought him last year in favor of work truck. Anyway, I kept the mounted snow tires that I had bought for his car as they were only used for 5K miles. The snows are mounted on stock sonata GLS steel wheels. My question is this: My father in-law drives an 08 Tiburon GT. Will the sonata's 205/60-16 wheels and tires fit his Tiburon without rubbing. I know the tires are ~6% larger, and the speedo will read ~3mph too fast at 60mph. These are non-issues. My real concerns are; will the steel Sonata wheels fit (I tend to think so), and assuming the wheels fit, will the tires rub?
Your help is greatly appreciated.
-Mike

I have a 2002 (02) 1.6 Hyundai Coupe.
2 weeks ago i took it into my local garage as there was a squeak coming from the engine. The mechanic asked me if the timing belt had been changed, it hadnt so he fitted a new one with new aux belts. Once i got the car back the oil check light was stuck on and the performace was poor - the garage had to take it all apart again and they found a loose connection. Once i got the car back it was running very well - then disaster, less than 2 weeks later the belt started to squeal and i noticed a rattlling from the engine - i took it back to the garage and he tightened the belt tensioners which fixed the problem, he topped up the oil too as it was low, but not below the line on the dip stick. Driving it around that day the rattling would not go away so i took it back to the garage and they found that the crankshaft had snapped - my question is could the snapped crankshaft have been caused by the mechanics failure to fit the belts properly?
Its going to cost me a **** of alot of money to get this fixed.

The interior and exterior lights in my 2004 Tiburon seem to dim periodically after driving for a bit. People think I'm flashing my lights at them. Once it starts, it seems to keep it up. Also, when this happens, my CD player/radio cuts out, too. It's like listening to a really scratched CD with an accompanying light show. Of course, this never happens for the mechanics when I take it into the shop. They told me to watch for things that trigger it like rain or going over bumps but it seems pretty indiscriminate. Eh?

I have a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon and one of the multitude of problems I have had with it is the speedometer. This started about two weeks ago, but while im going say 70mph, it will suddenly shoot down to 0mph, then back to 70mph a few secs later... Then back down to 0mph, etc. The RPM gages seem to be off now too. Any suggestions on how to fix this or how much the fix will be? I have had so many problems with this car, im trying to fix one thing at a time.

Recently in my 03 GTV6, my AC started making a hissing noise that it didn't used to. Also, it's not nearly as cold as it used to be. Could it be that I'm out of frion? Also, how much does AC maintainance usually cost (just a ballpark figure.) I've never had to have it done in my previous cars.

Alright so along with deciding on whether on getting either a CAI or a SRI, I have also been thinking about getting some underglow just for fun, but I have heard that it's illegal. I know it's illegal if it is blue or red and if it blinks cuz people think it's a cop car or something. But based on the states, do you know if its legal to drive in Minnesota with underglow so long as its a different color and not blinking?

Hey everyone, alright so I have a 2003 tibby gt v6 and deciding on whether to sav for a CAI or just go with a short ram intake (I think that's what is). I'm not necissarily looking for tons more power, but some what of a boost along with better gas milage. I hear the short ram is cheaper and is easier to clean, especially since I'm in more of a wet climate, with the down fall of just losing maybe a few hp. So for the moment that is my top choice but I'm not positive. Do you think that should be my choice? Or should i rethink it and save for the CAI?

I own an 06 Tiburon SE.
The brake lights don't work when I push on the brake pedal (all 3 lights), but all of the other lights all the way around the car work fine. Fuses look okay and I know the bulbs are good because they light up when I turn the lights on (as parking lights).
Just replaced the clutch assembly (burnt it out), and now the brake lights don't work. I also have an exhaust check light that is on, but I wouldn't think that would have anything to do with it.
Any suggestions?

I searched all 6 or 7 pages of this forum but couldn't find anywhere that someone had asked 'Where is everyone from?' Being the owner of my first Hyundai in many years, it would be nice to know if there are any owners of Tibbys near me, and I am sure that some of you may figure out that there are more owners near you. I see quite a few Tibs running around my fair city but have no idea if any of them are people that have posted problems or tips on these pages or if any of them may want to start a Tibby club here.

What is with the obsession of turning tiburons into tuscanis? I don't get it, i mean i have a friend that did it and he still calls it his tibby, why do it if your still gonna call it that, or know what? why do it at all? What is the point? Why not be happy with people knowing that you are driving a Hyundai. How many everyday ppl know what a tuscani is? Isn't it illegal to rebadge a car? I love the H symbols lol, and i want people to know that what they just saw was a tibby and go wow thats a nice one, cuz it is a sight to see.

Hi I'm new here but I appreciate very much all your useful information. I have a problem with my tuscani 2.7 V6 year 2003 and I was hoping you could give me some advice if perhaps you had the same problem.
When I start the engine after a few seconds I start hearing some kind of "explosions" from the muffler or the exhaust tube. It goes on for some seconds then there's a final "explosion" louder than the others and the noise stops. When I turn off the engine after a while (the engine is warm) the noise starts again, with the engine off. It's not the ticking of the thermal expansions it's a sound like of uncombusted fuel that reaches hot surfaces and explodes. Have you ever had this problem and most of all what can it be? Thanks for your help
