i just had my airbag light reset (had a belt buckle replaced) and when i took the car for inspection they said that i hadn't driven the car enough miles for them to pass it. i was told to drive it approx. 50 miles for the computer to develop enough feedback for the inspection computer to read it. after about 90 miles it still wasn't enough.
has anyone heard of this, and if so, how many miles will be enough?

Okay i have a black 06 2.7 tiburon chipped, cold air intake, and full striaght pip, with raceing hearders, with a wide body kit, but i need to find out how to fix the o2 sinsor on my hearders, cause it's causing check engine problems, and fuel and air mixture problems, which means loss of hP does anybody know what i can do?

a couple of weeks ago I got my clutch changed, since then a problem has steadily got worse.

I put it into any gear where theres a bit of load, say second at 10mph and plant my right foot. The Car hesitates, then jerks or doesnt accelerate until i back off, where it then picks up and we drive off. After 2500 revs it;s not noticed.

However today, I stook it in 5th while driving 30mph uphill, to guage what kind of feedback I got ,the car jerked crazily and then let off either a clank or a hiss (TINK!), and the MIL light flashed, did it again and the MIL came on, now its solid all the time.

I can drive it around provided i dont plant my foot, but its getting almost to the point where i cant do that, hills becoming worse.

Could it be a transmissions sensor when the clutch was changed or some other issue? I was going to do the spark plugs but as the MIL came on, the handbook related to exhaust gas regulation values being an issue

Need some sort of backup for the garage so they dont shaft me for say a flywheel or something unrelated.

It definatley felt "air" related, almost like when you have a clogged air filter (which i dont) but then bursts into life like normal after 2500 revs

My wife has a 2003 Tiburon Gt with the Infinity head unit. I have seen a cable on Ebay that promotes use with any Hyundai stereo with changer control. Is there a cable that will work as aux input for my ipod through the changer input?

I have a 2007 Tiburon with a Kenwood EZ-500 audio system. Can I get satellite radio through this kenwood unit, or do I have to get another reciever? I am asking because when i google EZ-500, the pics i get show a model with a sirus logo, like this one http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/products/...113EZ500-fp.jpg. However, on mine, that is replaced with a hyundai symbol. Does this mean that its not satellite ready?

I've just recently purchased a 2008 Tiburon GS and have seen some poor reviews for these autos and particularly poor power performance. I've made three trips to Houston from the Dallas area and have absolutely no trouble getting past slow drivers.

As a matter of fact I have to frequently watch the spedometer in order not to get into the 80's and have cruised along at 90+ quite often. The car runs like a marble on glass, no pulling and as smooth as silk.

Even being a medium large guy, 6' 1" 210ish there is plenty of room and comfortible seeting and the controls are easily accessible and well placed for the eye.

As for take off speed, not a problem. I knew that it wasn't a 500hp Mustang when I bought the car, and thus far no regrets, and it does well with gas mileage. I can fill it up with $ 25.00 of $ 2.50 per gallon gas and make it from Dallas to Houston on just about 3/4 tank of gas, averaging at least 70mph and often 80ish.

So 300 miles on roughly $ 15.00+ og gas isn't too shoddy.

Anyway, would like to hear from some seasoned Tiburon owners about their experiences.

I have a problem with the temperature of the engine. When i am driving the temperature first goes to the right position. After a while the temperature gauge indicates a rapid increase of the temperature to the max! When i restart my car the temperature gauge indicates the good temperature again, and most of the time it will stay there. When I'm checking my engine when the gauge indicates max, the fan is properly working and the engine is not hot in my opinion. I also already replaced the temperature sensor and asked at a Hyundai garage but didn’t solved the problem.

Does anyone has experience whit this problem?

I think the Tiburon is one of the best looking car's out there. For you owners is it a "fun" car to drive? I'm asking because I have driven many cars(including a $72,000 Lexus) and got quite bored with them after 15 minutes of driving them. If I should consider a Tiburon it would have to have the 6cyl engine and the 6 speed manual trans. My sister use to own a 1992 Toyota Tercel with the 4-speed manual and that car was a blast to drive.
The clutch was light and it had very precise shifter and you just never got tired of driving it. How is the clutch action and shifter on the newer Tiburons? Just want you Tib owners to chime in. Thanks for your input. Something else to add. The Tiburon looks good in all colors but yellow is what makes this car stand out. Again thanks for your input.

Forgive me if this has already been asked...I spent many an hour searchng and found nothing. I'd like to replace my stock 2004 emblems with chrome versions. There are plenty of the "2.7 Elisa" available but I can't find any that simply copy the stock version. Does anyone know where (if possible) I can score emblems that say "GT V6" in chrome? Thanks.

My 2004 Tiburon GT left turn signal( Drivers Side) indicator is stuck on front and back, I replace all the bulbs and it acts funny, sometimes flshes quick then goes off then back on then wore the batery down at night( must have come on at night). Cassete player stopped working too, figure just a fuse. Its still stuck on.

When I hit the Hazards they work then go fast and slow.
Its at the shop now and he called me and said he can't figure it out.

ive been looking to chip my 2006 tiburon v6 2.7 automatic, ive found a chip( SLR) and its cheap, it sounds too good to be true i was just wondering what the best chip is for my car and if th SLR is actually any good, also i dont know of any place that can install it can i go to any shop and theyll do it? or do i have to go somewhere special, i live in mass so if anyone knows of any place there that can do it that would be awesome

I've got an 02/03 Tiburon (Coupe) 2.7 V6. The windscreen wash for both front and back has suddenly stopped working (no fluid comes out). I've checked the fluid and it's practically full, I can also hear the motor running when I press the switch for washers but I'm stuck with nothing but wipers moving and a dirty windscreen.

Can anyone tell me how and where to look to see if there is some sort of blockage?

My new girlfriend/fiance has a 03 Tiburon GT (first tiburon i've ever drove, and its SWEET!), and it makes a loud screeching noise when you start it. It doesn't make any noise when it runs, though. I thought for sure it was the starter, so I put a new starter in today but it didn't help. I would really appreciate any help on this! I really like the car, but the screeching is kind of embarrasing......

Thank for any help I can get here. I recently aquired, for my son, a 2006 Tibby GS. Love the car. There were a few parts missing and all have been covered but one. Behind the back seat is a " shelf/cover" well there is supposed to be one and that's my problem. I've been told that this part or kit with the part sells for over $300. This is far too much to spend on a non necessary item.
What I was hoping was that someone has or knows where I can aquire this item at a reasonable price? The Interior is black but If it comes in another color I'd take that too. The main problem other than asthetics is without it you can see anything placed in the hatchback. So here's hoping that someone can help

Ive got my self a 04 2.0 5spd and a short shifter that has been sitting around my house for 2 years and now im finally bored enough to install it, just looking for likes for instal procedures so i can get r in and see how bad i can make my shifting!

I'm thinking about gettina a cold air intake soon.

first of all, how much power should i expect it to add? the car is completely stock with 45K miles on it, auto transmission.

secondly, i've read that injen intakes add the most power, but AEM's seem to be the most common. what brand give sthe most power?

also, are these hard to install? do i have to cut holes or anything into the metal? otehrwise i'll just get a short ram.

is there a big difference between teh horsepower added by a short ram intake compared to a cold air intake on these tiburons?

are bypass valves worth it for CAI's?

My check engine light came on. The Mass air flow sensor was bad and i replaced it. The check engine light never came back on. I have a cold air intake on my car. After i installed the new mass air flow sensor i drove the car around a little bit and no problems. It is about 20 degrees outside. I decided to gun it to see if everything was ok. At 4000 rpms the check engine light came on. I took it to auto zone and the said it was the mafs. I erased the code and started the car up twice and the Check engine light never came back on. Did it come on because of to much cold air going into the engine?

Does anyone know of a way to reprogram the keyless entry remote for a 2007 Tiburon without having to go to the dealer? Im looking to do it myself but can seem to find instructions anywhere like other cars.

I just really dont feel like paying $60 for something that probably takes them 2 minutes.

Hello to all in the forum.....
I briefly scrolled the forum and don't find anything quite like my question. This is a wiring / electrical issue that I'm hoping someone has run across and can tell me where to look or more importantly what to exclude.

So, one day after work I noticed I couldn't make out my dash clusters and as it got darker I realized there was an issue. Took it to my normal machanic, found a blown 10 amp fuse for the cluster, rear driving lights, cig lighter illumination, radio illumination etc, etc. Relaced the fuse and turned on the lights, blows the fuse. My machinic, who had limited time, couldn't locate the issue but I stil had to pay the 130.00 for the labor. (Time is money ~) So In doing some digging around the web I found some places to look under the dash and I wiggled 3 of the wiring harnesses I could see and for kicks put in a fuse. Turned on the lights and it didn't blow the fuse so I thought sweet, issue resolved although I did wonder if I had something grounding out. While I was under the dash I didn't find nay wires that looked seperated or frayed from their groups. At the beginning of this week or there abouts I noticed my criuse control isn't working (Light in cluster comes on but no worky) and if I have the car off and the lights off, press the brake, the dash cluster and all prior mentioned components light up.

Any ideas or suggestions would be great as I really can't afford the labor for a fishing expedition.

I picked up a 2003 Tiburon for my daughter and drove it home to SD from Sacramento last week. Only 32,000 miles and in very nice shape.

Problem: When I encountered patches of ice, especially on a bridge, the slightest raise in the ice under one wheel would send the car very noticeably sideways. I've experienced the usual slippage on ice before but never this sudden sidways skip or throw. I assumed it was the tires... but now I'm wondering if the Mussa front strut bar is a better explanation. That is, due to the front strut bar, the force exerted by the ice bump under the left wheel doesn't raise the wheel but instead is being passed on to the front of the car as a whole and there is a sudden shift to the right. Very frightening, especially when the ice continues for several feet and the car is thrown back and forth. Of course the interstate had been closed overnight and there were thousands of semis on the highway too, with one always immediately to the right when this happened.

Am I wrong in thinking the front strut bar may be the problem? Should they be taken off in winter when encountering snow and ice? Thanks for any suggestions here.

I have 03 tiby with 120 km. I want to do a tune up. I was thinking I mite as well upgrade the ignition in the process. I have been unable to find any wires or coils for it. MSD, Nology, ext..... Any help would be nice

Hey guys I blew it changing clutch and need some clarification. Had to pry off the clutch that brass cone looking part and don't remember if the cone part points toward the pressure plate or the flywheel. I hope somebody knows what I'm referring to and can clarify how t reinstall it so I can get my clutch reinstalled. Thanks. Maybe somebody has a diagram that shows how everything goes?

Ok, I have a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon 2.0, the flex pipe has a small hole, and the shop says that you cannot get a flex pipe aftermarket and that I have to go to Hyundai for the part. Now the flex pipe at the dealer is... 900 bucks? WTF is that? Come on now, can this be right? There is no possible way I am spending that money on that small part.
Any suggestions?

Ok. I'm new to this site. I have a 03 tiburon 4 cylinder. Just bought some momo rims for a real good price. Only problem is they are the wrong bolt pattern. The guy said they were 5x114. Well there not. I bought some wheel spacers to get the right bolt pattern. Now with the rims on, my tires rub on the rear fenders and tear up the tires if I have more than 2 people in my car. I just put brand new shocks in. I'm thinkin about tryin to do a wide body kit and hopefully won't ru b anymore. Anyone have any idea wat I could do to prevent the rubbing? Thanks in advance

I'm trying to remove the steering wheel of my 2003 Tiburon and I can't seem to get the connector off that connects from the clock spring to the airbag on the steering wheel. I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on how to remove it.
In the guide I was reading the instructions are
"When disconnecting the connector of the clock sprint from the airbag module, pull the airbag's lock toward the outer side to spread it open."
I'm having problems understanding this. I have attached an image to clarify my situation.

My washer pump just stopped today on my 05 tiburon tuscany and I can't seem to find the fuse associated to the pump relay. Is there a fuse for the windshield washer fluid pump or is it connected directly? The front and rear whippers work just fine so if the pump fuse is the same as the whippers then the pump is gone

If there is no fuse, then does anyomne have advice on how to access the pump to change it cause it seems to be burried deep in the passenger side wheel casing....

I am new to this forum and somewhat new to modding, so I am looking for a little advice and direction. First let me tell you my situation: I'm in the Army and I'm currently deployed to Iraq, so I've saved up a good amount of money while here (but I don't want to spend TOO much, so I wanna keep it in reason). When I get home in April, I want to buy a 2003-2008 Tiburon GT/SE 2.7L (6-speed). Now I've looked online for answers to some of these questions but I can't seem to get anything difinitive on a lot of things. Please keep in mind that my goal is 300-400WHP; also I am not cheap, but I definitely want to be cost-effective.

The first thing I want to do it put a turbocharger under the hood. How much PSI boost can the stock 2.7L engine handle? I'm assuming around 10psi or so, but I'm not sure. With that in mind, does anyone know of a turbo/turbo kit that would meet the required level of boost, while still being both compatable with the engine and not costing a HUGE amount? Also, I want to use the Turbo XS RFL blow-off valve because I love the sound.

Next on my list are a few more minor things, like a cool air intake and a cat-back exhaust system, and possibly an intercooler; so I'm looking for suggestions on cost-effective upgrades for those and other minor things.

After that, I want a way to be able to set the amount of psi boost coming in from my turbocharger. I have started to look at boost controllers, but I honestly haven't ever dealt with them, so I'm also looking for help there. I have heard that putting an aftermarket ECU in can improve ignition timing and give small HP gains, so I want to know about different ECU's. I want a comprehensive way to control how the engine runs so I can maximize either fuel economy or power or somewhere in between.

Now if I do all of the above things, is there anything else that I am going to need to upgrade in conjunction?

Also, one thing I'm also looking at is a winshield HUD system. Something that displays my speed, RPMs and other information if possible.

hey guys i'm a diesel technician by trade but my sister has a 2005 tiburon se v6 w/ 102k miles on it. she just recently broke the timing belt. i just replaced the timing belt and i after a while i got it back into time and i triple checked it before i put it back together. when i went to start it it takes a few more cranks than ususal but it still starts up, is this engine an interference engine? also, through idle to 2000 rpm the engine has what sounds like a lifter tick/ valve tick to it. and the engine runs nice and smooth, but it does smell like it's running rich. i'm not really what else to look for at this point any suggestion's? any input will be greatly appreciated. hi everybody! i recently bought a pair of 2005-06 hyundai tiburon oem tail lights for my 03 and i tried fitting them but it was no joy apparently 1 of the screws is larger or is moved and also the bulb mounts differ somewhat...any insights you can share ...these are the tail lights that i like, is like converting an 03 to 06...thanks for any help!!!!
