Hi!
I have a 2001 Tiburon and I noticed that when my heat is off my car runs at normal temperature, but once I turn my heat on it slowly decreased the guage down to cold. I shut off the heat and it will go back up to around the middle of the guage (normal setting).
I do get heat when the guage is at its normal place. I changed the thermostat and the gasket and refreshed the antifreeze. My car has over 72,000 miles (mostly highway traveling for work).
What else can I do? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi All,
I have a 96 SFX Coupe, bought it new...........I am a little concerned that the engine warining light comes on now and again (after the car has been driven for a awhile)........I don't experience any problems, no engine noise, no oil loss, no coolant loss, and no power loss. I have stopped once or twice and given the cables a wiggle and the problem goes away for a couple of weeks. Any thoughts
I am also looking for a good mechanic/specialist in Sydney AU.........any suggestions?

I have a 99 tiburon FX, and when I first get in and drive it sometimes and its cold it will totally bogg down on me and hesitate. Not sure what could be causing it because it doesnt happen all the time. Also curious on how to fix the jiggly noise in the back hatch.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have previously posted this question and only one kind perso has responded (thanks Gordo). I am hoping that others may have some imput. If you have experienced this problem or know of any solutions to the same, please respond. I bought a 1997 Tiburon, automatic. It runs beautifully for about 15 minutes and then it starts to shift in and out of gear and jerking as it does so. It will shift three or four times in a row. I took it to my regular guy and he said it was a transmission problem and sent me to a transmission place. That guy replaced the heat sensor for almost $150 and it is still doing the same thing. The transmission guy says it's not a transmissio problem and sent me to another guy. He drove it and said it acted fine so I drove it the 15 minutes required to make it go into it's "act" and then took it to him. He drove it and came back and said it was the transmission because it was definetly slipping. I called another place to set up an appointment and when I told him what it was doing he said it wasn't the transmissio because it would't take "warm up" time before it messed up, it would just mess up all the time. As you can see no one seems to be willing to help me. I am not certain if people don't like to work on these cars or if they can tell I don't have big bucks to spend or what. Has anyone else's Tiburon done this? Does anyone have any idea what I should do? I have never been so frustrated in my life and the bad part is I LOVE THIS CAR. It's so beautiful and I can't afford to just fix things until they locate the trouble. PLease, if you know anything that might help me, please respond.

I am newly retired and somehow bought a 99 FX Coupe.
It made me feel like a teenager again after never having a 2-door car before.
After only having the FX for about 3 months I am already sniffing around a new Tiburon.
Is is a male thing or a Tiburon thing???
Even my wife is full bore on the new Tiburon...what is going on???
Our other car is a nearly new Mitsu Outlander 4cyl...she who wears the lacy pants has asked which car will we trade on the Tib!!!
As we are approaching senior citizen status (or might have even overtaken it!) we are interested in the ins and outs of the 2004 Tiburon as the local dealer does not have a model for us to test the accessability - both in and out...
We look forward to any and all replies...

I need to buy steel rims for a 98 Tiburon to mount snow tires.
Does anybody know which other models use the same 14” rims?
Does anybody want to sell a set of wheels?

I purchased a '01 Tiburon about 6 months ago and no word of a lie, have had to put in THREE transmissions. (1 every couple of months) Thankfully it was covered under warranty. It has been about a month since my last one and the car is having issues AGAIN. There is tranny fluid pooling on top of the transmission. I took it in and they replaced the lines on the cooler system that is in the radiator and said i should cross my fingers and hope it works but if it doesn't then i need a new radiator or transmission cooler inside the radiator. They also suggested putting on an external cooler. (the rad. is not covered under warranty)
Anyway, I love this car. Well...maybe not this one exactly, but I love the look and how it drives.
Has anyone else had these problems and could give me advice on how to fix it?

Hello
I am hoping someone will respond very soon to this posting. I just bought a used 1997 Tiburon. I drove it back from NC to VA and it started to shift rougly. I have only had the car three days now and I took it to a transmission place, he replaced the heat sensor yesterday and now it's doing the same thing again. I called a dealer and he said 1997 models had a great deal of difficulty with the transmissions. My question is if I go to the expense of putting in a new transmisson, will it just need replacing in a few months? How much money am I looking at for a transmission? I am having a bad feeling that I bought a piece of junk. The car is so beautiful, but three days on the road and it's already costs me $200 and now I am looking at at least another $1000.
Does anyone have any thing they can tell me to help me with this problem?
Margie

Hi All.
Here in South Africa there seems to be a problem finding cv boots for my 98fx. The local dealers are known for charging a small fortune. I need a outer-right boot. Is there any compatable boots from one of the more "common" cars that can be used?

My 1997 Tiburon makes noise that comes from the front of the car
after accelerating to 40MPH and above. Sound sort of like a knocking
or when a tire is loose. When you let off the gas the noise stops.
It also gets louder the faster you go. Any ideas?

I have very nice experience with the Hyundai car.
I think the car is great to buy.The car has nice looks on the
outside but look and feel cheap on the inside.
Quite often the car is adorned with all sorts of bizarre styling details.
While these might appeal to teens (or people who want to think they’re
still in their teens) most adults would feel ashamed to own one based on
looks alone.

but otherwise is great. I would buy another one anytime.can anyone

.Hello friends.....
loved the exterior look of the new Tiburon.
It looks quite sporty with its aggressive shape, bulgy fenders, and low stance.
The only thing that i regret is that it is not getting the moon roof.
Sound system of the car is quite cool. Well if you are like me ,you will definately
enjoy the music. This car has a very good sound system. It comes with the infinity
stereo,speakers,and subwoofer.
I can say that I'm quite happy with the car.

I recently purchased a 2000 Tiburon, pretty much loaded including the best factory AM/FM--cassette/CD player radio. The AM band is impossible--with static and whirring noises when the engine is on. When the engine is off, no problema! What might be causing this interference? Has anyone else experienced this? If the radio acted this way when it was new, I can't believe anyone would buy the
car. HELP!
