there i a very annoying noise coming from by heater fan its like a clicking sound and i pulled the fan out and the fan isnt lose do u think some thing could be lose and falling on to it beacuse it only clicks when i decelerate. but i would like to no if any one else has this problem and what they did to fix it.

I have a 98 Tiburon that the battery died on. Well I replaced it and now the radio will not come back on. It is getting power just nothing works. I was told that there is a reset code. Does anyone know what it is. It is a Hyundai radio model H828. Thanks.

somr times my driving lights work and some times they dont and my passenger side head light is out and i go to pull the bulb uot with the lights on and it comes on this is driving me wild

Firstly hi all.

Ok here goes.

The last 2 days i have smelt a burning smell odour from the car after i have driven it, also when i come off the accelerator i can here a slight whinning noise today the noise has got louder, the gearbox seems fine and the clutch feels ok, it cant be the wheel bearings because when i accelerate the noise disappears.

Please help on what it could be?

Im thinking about putting a remotekeyless entery/alarm/remote start do u think the dealer would be the best place to get it put in, and what would u recommend i put in i want a good one with lots of range. if i do this do i have to get some thing for the drivers door beacuse i think there is only a power lock on the passenger side. any help will be grately apreceated.

The story

Where i live i don't have a good place where i can take my hyundai to get fixed. I'm still learing about cars so i can't fix it. A big dealer in town that sales toyota and hyundai is where i have been taking it. It was where i took it before i bought it from a lady to make sure everything was alright. When i took it there they said my oil pan was just a little damaged but nothing that we should worry about. I bought it after that cuz it was a good deal if nothing was wrong. Well after 2 months of oil leaking i took it else where. I took it to a dealer that sales other makes so they aren't familiar with hyundais but they are probably the best in town. When they looked at it they said my oil pan was smashed. Looked like someone put a jack under it and tried to jack the car up and the oil plug was stripped and could be just pulled off. That was why it was leaking. I've been taking it there for about 4 months now and they have done a pretty good job. I don't think they have fixed something that is starting to annoy me.

When my car is running i hear a clicking noise. When i rev the engine the click goes faster. From my auto classes i have heard that a clicking noise could be a bad valve. Could this be whats wrong? I don't think it is normal. Please help. Thanks in advanced

I did a mistake by getting one of those cheap no name intakes off ebay. I can't figure out how to make it fit. The intake looks like this intake on ebay. I was thinking that it would install like this one also seen on ebay. The only problem is that there isn't any room below it to fit. Any suggestions?

i started my car one day and it was running really rough, a lot less power and sounded like a lawnmower, check engine light was on so i got a diagnostic readout, it said that one of my cylinders wasnt firing...i checked the fuel injectors, they werent bad, but i got them cleaned out and changed the spark plugs, that only helped a little bit, it still sounds like crap and has no power.....any thoughts?

which bolt pattern is the best for a 2001 Tibby. For the rims:

17x7 - 4x100/114.3

17x7 - 4x114.3/108

I have a five year old SE Coupe, 2.0.Automatic.

It will not go into fourth(top) gear and when reached, it "freewheels" with the engine revving.

I can drive it with the overdrive button off, limiting it to third gear only.

Is the gearbox no good or, is it as I hope, the ratio sensors are faulty?

i am working on a 2000 tibby that is having issues. there is little power when accelerrating, and climbing hills. we pulled the injectors and had them cleaned, and whenwe put them back in, it ran fine except for an underlying hint of a vacuum leak.,i had noticed thatoone of the plugs wasnt gapped properly, anddecided to re check all of them. after test driving it agian, the owner noticed a decrease in power. we put new plugs in it, and it didnt change anything. if anyone hasd had similar problems please let me know. thanks

Is there a way to disable the horn on a Tiburon remote start/keyless entry? My neighbor just got a new Tiburon and now wakes me up every morning at 5 something. I'd rather approach the problem with a solution than with a complaint, since of course they are fond of their new car.

i got a crack in my exaust manifold and its about a inch long and exaust is coming out of it now what r my options can it be welded do i have to replace it or maybey a header or if i drive it till soring is it going to hurt any thing like burn a valve.

Ive had my tib for a year+. Last winter it kept buring all the oil. When I called the dealer about it they told me not to put oil in it because they were running a oil test or some bs. I think for a few days the engine ran on less than a quart of oil.....sometimes the car lags and sometimes its alright. Im replacing the clutch(putting in a centerforce). also plan on adding a cold air and full exaust. Should I be worried about my engine....any past damages....car has less than 55,000 miles

hey, i have a quick question. i have on my 2001 tiburon headers, exhaust and a CAI. but i feel that im not getting the performance i should be getting out of them as i should. i mean, sometimes it performces just like i expect it to, but other timres i feel that it is slugish. like off the line i usually get a nice kick, and it feels good, but other times i just feel that it accelerates real slow.

why would this be happening?

would reseting my ECU help?

or is there something else that is goin on and how could i fix this?

I have a 1999 Tiburon that I bought used a 2 years ago and I have not had any problems so far.

For the last few weeks, the AC system is not properly working. In fact, it works most of the time but sometimes it does not for no apparent reason (as well as the fan).

When it is not working, the dash light is off and no air is coming out. The fan is not working either (if I push the AC button). However, it can randomly start to work again. What is puzzling me is that it works randomly so I guess nothing is really broken...

Do you have any idea of what the problem is or how I could fix it?

Hey, my name is Michelle and I recently purchased a used 1997 hyundai tiburon (first car)....anyways when we bought it I noticed a button next to the shifter labeled ECT and it says pwr at the top of it and norm at the bottom of it, i asked the chick we bought it from what it does and she said she wasnt sure because she never used it but that the guy she bought it from said that he would get the car up to like 80 85 mph and push it and it would get him up to 100-110 mph and he would beat his friends in races.......so i was wondering is this true, is it really some sort of power button? if it is then if you have further info i'd love to hear it and if it isnt true then what is it for real?

I have a 1997 tib fx an the exhaust manifold sounds terrible. I am a little tight on the money so I have patched it using JB weld. My question is - am I doing any harm to my engine or anything else by not replacing this. I am not sure what the exhaust manifold does. how long can I go with it patched up and it new cracks develop, can I continue to patch until I can replace?

Very rarely when I do a lazy shift into 3rd gear the gearbox will jump out of gear. I've noticed that the cables from the gear lever can be adjusted. Will this fix my problem or is this bad tidings of expensive replacements that I can expect?

Can somebody help me find a speedometer sensor for a 97 Hyundai Tiburon? I've got the 2.0 A/T model and can't find this part anywhere in the Philippines.

I would prefer a shop somewhere in the US, or Canada since I have friends there who might be able to get the item for me.

I've tried the local Hyundai dealer and they haven't had any luck in the past 3 months. The reason they give is this model wasn't sold by them locally, and it was a grey market import. In reality though, they really aren't any good with parts and I know of a store which sells more Hyundai parts than they do. Unfortunately, this store couldn't get me a speedometer sensor too.

I would need the sensor, as well as the gear attached to it, since the local Hyundai dealer removed both and couldn't give them back to me. They apparently lost it, stupid guys that they are.

I hope somebody can help me out. Thanks.

Anyone had experience with the gas struts that hold the rear hatch open. One of my struts has developed a rattle. All fixings are tight but if you shake the strut sideways when the hatch is open there is a rattle, the other strut is OK.

Is there any "owner" type repairs that can be done to struts or is this a dealer type job?

The horn on my Tiburon is not working. I have checked the fuses and they all seem to be fine. I hear clicking coming from the engine fuse box when I press the horn. I checked all the connections and they seem to be fine as well.

Are both horns dead, or is somethign else wrong? I would hate to shell out $$$ for a new horn if this one is still okay and I'm missing something.

Failing that, has anyone got a manual that they can email to me via broadband? I want to fit a Toad alarm, so it's everything relating to the electrics/ignition, dashboard and door panels that I need.

I have a stock 98 TIB SE with 178,000kms on it now what would it take for me to prep it for a NOS sytem.

And i want to make this engine safe.Its not going to be a dayly thing for me to you're just when needed.Is there still a dangure of blowing the engine ? Even is i go through the process of having the pistons changed to stronger more pressure resistant pistons.And re doing the engine.

The reason I would like to do this is because I need to remove the deck as the car didn't come with the face plate.

Im getting a custom cat back exhaust made for my 2001 5 speed Tibby. Would anyone wanna tell me the proper diameter for the pipe. I know if the pipe is too large I wont have much back pressure and lose power, but im still not too sure how big it should be. Ex. 2, 2.5
