I have read elsewhere that high cost maintenance is required on the Lambda engine each 60K as it does not have hydraulic lifters. Anyone know the approximate cost in US dollars for the maintenance. default/whistling.gif' 'whistling.gif' />

We just returned for a 905 mile trip from the San Diego, CA area to Phoenix, AZ and back.
Our 2007 Santa Fe, Limited had about 300 miles on the clock when we left for Arizona.
For those who are not familiar with the area, one way is relatively flat. The other was required driving over a 4,300 feet mountain.
We drove the flat route to Phoenix. In California we...

I just took delivery of my black on black 7 passenger limited. I had to order it and noticed this weekend that only the right side (small) 2nd row seat tumbles forward to get into the 3rd row seats. The left side seat doesn’t have the handle under the seat to allow it to pivot forward. It folds flat but that is it. I think I remember the other 7 passenger units that I test drove both sides...

Check out the four day blog on the Canadian Driver website on the Santa Fe. They've already done a 4-day blog on the RAV4 and Suzuki XL7. In the end they are going to be doing a long term side-by-side review of these three vehicles.

Today, I noticed some clicking noise during turns when signal is on. I am not talking about the sound from the turn signal, but some other clicks from turning the wheel. If you make turns without the signal, then no noise at all.
Wondering if it's new or it's always there but I just noticed today.

I'm planning on getting a 2007 Santa Fe this weekend but wanted to see if any current owners had found a method to connect an Ipod to the factory installed stereo. Thought I'd ask what the general opinion is of Hyundai in your native countries? I have to admit that I bought this car purely on looks and practicality without a real concern for the brand image.
I previously owned the Skoda Octavia VRS so I am not afraid of being shunned by the masses for having an inferior brand. If the car is good,I'll buy it. When I first bought the Vrs it...

I tried mine today and it blew a fuse. I checked and I plugged in something that was over the 150 watts, opps! I changed the 30 amp fuse and now the fuse blows as soon as I press the power button near the heated seats. (nothing plugged in the inverter) What could it be? Could I have fried the inverter? The fuse would be the 1st thing to go so I have no idea.

My wife had a little 'incident' with the Santa Fe this AM... damage does not look so bad.
The front bumper cover is broken, the headlight lens is cracked and the fender is shot. there appears to be no structural damage, although the radiator support bracket is also cracked (under)
Any guesses at how much to fix??
This will make you sick.

I really like the tire pressure monitoring system in the SF. Kinda confused on one aspect. Apparently, it can identify which tire is low on pressure and indicate this wheel position on the dashboard. How does the system know which tire the signal is coming from? Lets assume for a minute each sensor transmits a unique frequency. What happens when you rotate tires? Do you have to re-assign...

Don't get me wrong, I always have my seatbelt when driving. But they are some occasion where I don't. When driving on a private lot at the cottage. Small distances at low speed to move a trailer around just doesn't warrant a seatbelt. When going at slow speed off road is another example.
On my other car I could disable this seatbelt warning sound myself. I don't think...

I had a minor slip this morning when I was turning from the road to the drive way. There is a lot snow, so I force the AWD locked. But it still slipped. I don't remember the speed, but it should be very very low, maybe around 15km/hr.

Please let's not get into a debate as to what the fogs are used for and what you opinionate them as functional.
