Man I am on a roll today
Dam* Starbucks
When I posted this the seat belt covers were being auctioned for a PENNY
Might want to email them to see what colors they have
These would be good on a long trip where the seat belt irritates your shoulder
take a look

Coupla different styles
If you are into the carbon they can be found on Ebay too
see pics
Kinda pricey at 20 to 25 bucks
Attaches right to your head rest
keywords in Ebay would be head rest, hanger, hyundai, santa fe, coat
take a look

Hello!
We've got a 2007 Santa Fe SE (USA). The interior is beige and so the 4 door sill plates are beige plastic.
Does anyone know if brushed metal door sill plates are available for this trim? I believe the Limited trim comes with such metal sill plates; however, I think they're stamped "LIMITED".
Mother's Day is almost upon us, and since this is primarily my wife's vehicle, I thought...
Thanks much.

This morning when checking the tire pressure while the motor is running, I noticed the sound of air hissing from under the car near the rear wheel passenger side. It sounds exactly like when we let loose the air from the tire's valve. The sound is not very loud but non stop and could be heard every second or so when the motor is running.
Ha anyone noticed this too with their car (especially new one) ? Is there any vaccum system in the car that would produce this noise?

An Australian owner of this car and am interested to know if others have the same issue.
When the car is started and you first drive away, at 30KMH there is an audible clunk from the underside (depends how loud you have things inside car) but it is audible.
If you stop the car then drive off again it doesn't do it. Only when the car is 1st started.
I note that manual talks about the 4WD diff lock starting to disengage at 30KMH but we dont have this activated.
Anyone else have a similiar noise?
Thanks
Michael

Anyone has an idea how much it can cost to replace them?

This just came in my attention yesterday, my 3.3 SF2007 produce alot of visible smoke from the exaust. Yes, I know that smoke from the exaust is normal but when looking at the other cars on the road, most of them don't produce any visible smoke at all. Visible smoke comes out of my car even when the motor is in idle mode. Is that normal or something I must check with the dealer? The come to my concerne when I stopped the car and openned the tail gate to get stuff out (the motor was running), smoke came out of the exaust and enter the vehicle. I have a child in the car so it worry me...
Thanks

Hi,
I just purchased a 2007 SE and have 2 questions.
First is around cargo mats. I'd like to have something in the back that's removable for easy cleaning. However, I still need easy access to the cargo bins under the floor. Does anyone make a mat out there that is 'slotted' (or whatever you'd call it) to allow access to the storage bins? I'm open for either carpet or rubber/plastic.
Secondly, I was surprised that the radio didn't have an AUX IN port. I didn't even look for that since it seems to be standard on most cars today. How are most folks connecting MP3 players? FM Modulators?
Thanks!

Hello there,
I am one of your new members far away from US; namely Turkey, about one month ago i got a new SF 2.2 CRDI for myself 10 months after getting a Tucson for my wife, that i was jealous of..
Anyway now i am very happy with my car, the only thing that made thinking of buying other 4x4s was the lack of GPS. Then i thought that option would come with the new versions and i could have it installed. I dont know if it will happen.
But does any of you guys know a GPS system which could fit the dash so that it would look like original. I have seen the TOMTOM here on the forum but I dont know if it could fit the top of the central dash
Do you have any pictures of installed GPS equipment, i would appriciate pictures.

I pulled the plate off my 335i and put it on the Santa Fe. The Laguna Niguel dealer plate irked me since I spent so much time de-badging it, anxd it stated clearly it was a Hyundai. NOW it looks great.
Most people do not know the difference between the Honda "H' emblems and the Hyundai "H." I've learned that any type of re-badging or de-badging really throws people off, even people that know their cars. For example I once put a Laser cut Mercedes Benz badge on my 190E and SL500. This really messed people up, even at the dealer. Most people didn’t know what year OR model the 190 was, as I had the windows blacked out and it was a rare metallic blue. The SL they didn’t know if it was an SL55 or an SL320. I'll post those next. (NO ONE has the MBZ badges you’ll see.)
So take a peek below. The next set of photos (335i) is a custom plate I had made for $35! It can say anything you want with any color background or font! As far as I know, there is no such dealership as "Newport Beach Motorcars." But the police already knew my Rusnak plate, so this should keep things cool for awhile.
Got at AutoPlates.Com. (It took FOREVER to get, but was worth it.) So you could
for example, have one made that said "
Calgary Custom Coach's" or "
Atlanta Exotic 4x4's." Then that Hyundai stigma gets thrown out as they appreciate the vehicle FIRST, then hear what brand it is (or not...)

We have around 3.4k miles on our new santa fe se, and the check airbag light has come on a few days ago, and remains lit all the time. Also, every since then the alarm won't work. The remote will lock and unlock the car, and the light blink, but when I hit the lock button twice, it won't blink a 2nd time and won't chirp anymore.
I've tried everything to get the alarm working and it's definitely not user error. Never had this problem on our 2004 santa fe or our 2006 tiburon...

Hi all,
We took my wife's 5 pass. GLS on an Easter road trip. Guelph On. to Val Cartier Qc. She's really racking up the klicks, 12000 before we left home so I figure it's well "broken in" now.
Vehicle is a pleasure to drive and ride shotgun. Seats plenty comfy, never felt cramped(I'm 6'2"). Stereo played a CD filled with over 500Megs of Mp3's with the only glitches being on bad MP3 files and the climate control system is great.
I must admit I appreciate the high seating postition. It was my first long distance drive in a C/O-UV and I can understand the appeal however the gas mileage numbers are a quick cure for that.
On the drive down we seemed to be always tanking up but I wasn't bothering to record numbers. The trip home I did.
On a section where our average speed was in the 120-125 km/h range(we tried to use cruise control as much as possible and this is my best guess) I did my best to go until we were running on fumes. The odo said 542 km. I filled the tank with 65.3 liters. The onboard mileage guesstimator was saying 12l/100km before the fill up and a quick run through my numbers confirms this.
Not exactly the Transport Canada rating of 9l/100km but those are never right anyways. But still not coming close to 600km on a tank with a vehicle as modern and advanced as the Sante Fe is disappointing. I suppose our "led feet" might have contributed to the poor mileage but we're still less then thrilled by the numbers.
Just so you have all the info...ambient temp was in the 0 to 5*C range. I checked tire pressures in Montreal and they showed 33PSI all around. 2 passengers, not much cargo. She has the chrome Hyundai push bumper installed up front.

So I got the cargo net thrown in the deal on my Santa Fe. I was testing the thing out....is there some way to install it besides to the four metal tabs in the floor? It kind of seems like a spiderweb that way. I was hoping there I could install it vertically and use it as a divider in the cargo area. Is there another net for that or is there some method that I don't see for hooking up the net I have vertically.

My gas light comes on when the needle actually hits the E dot at the very bottom. Then the Range meter blanks out and flashes as if I will run out any moment. But when I fill it up, I only put in 16.3 gallons and it tops off. Anyone?

Is the Low Washer Fluid light supposed to come on when you first start your engine? Most of the warning lights are supposed to come on for a couple of seconds to let you know they are working...I've noticed the following lights do not come on (low washer fluid, low gas and the cruise control lights).
Purchased a Black 3.3 GL AWD a couple of weeks ago and find it great to drive!

Just purchased (read, financed) a 2007 Santa Fe SLX 2.7L (unfortunately the 3.3L/3.5L options are not available in Australia, however they are all AWD). Ended up choosing the Blue Onyx Mica.
I was very impressed with the test drive and found it to be quite a good step up from my '05 Elantra FX. As much as the Elantra was a nice car, versatility wasn't its best point though (although I have taken it on tracks most 4WDs would eat for breakfast).
Hopefully delivery is this week sometime.

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this forum, not new to Santa Fe. We're on our third right now, a 2007 Limited. I have a question for anyone else who may have the Limited with the ultimate package - Infinity Stereo system. My wife and I have noticed when the stereo is on and the engine is running, there is a noticable hiss coming out of the tweeters on the door. This hiss is present no matter which input (AM, FM, CD, DVD, etc) and does not appear to be alternator related as it doesn't change in pitch when you hit the gas. If the engine is off however, the hiss is gone so I'm thinking grounding issue. Does anyone have any insight into what could be causing it? I'm going to contact the dealer as well to see if this behavior exists on all models with that sound system.
Thanks!
Mike

I have a question about the 50/50 lock. Can you leave the 50/50 lock on all the time when driving in snow (i.e., drop the kids off at school) or is it just for driving out of a ditch or something?
I thought I read somewhere that you can damage something if you left it on around corners or on dry pavement (if 50/50 is left on by mistake). Has anyone else heard of this?
Cheers

Is the best thing since the round wheel! Nothing like learning exactly what makes a car consume more gas and seeing the results right in your face. This week I filled up and, since my car is taking some time off, I was going to have the santa fe just for myself.
From Monday until Friday morning, I manage to average 21mpg in strictly city driving.
My wife drove the car the rest of Friday and now the poor thing shows 17.4mpg.
I almost had a heart attack.
Point of the story, you can use the Average Consumption monitor to teach you some gas-saving tricks and it will also teach you that your wife will empty your wallet even when she's not shopping.

My wife and I have been looking for a 2007 white with grey int. GLS
and have been in contact with 7 Hyundai dealers in the NY area. For some reason this color combo is not that popular being that they are not on the lots here in NY. What I don't understand is why none of these dealers offered to find one or even order it for us. the usual response we get is... oh ! we might be getting one soon. I don't understand why they can't make a phone call or search some other inventory's to find the model. Is this the norm of how Hyundai does business because it is turning me off big time.

I have the GLS (Canadian) and on the lower left side of the steering wheel I have a switch for the driving lights, in the middle are the two switches for ESC and 4X4 Lock, and next to it on the far left of the bank is a blank.
I would like to find a switch that I could put in there, to switch to ground for my video on my Clarion 2-DIN headunit. right now, it is connected to the emergency brake, (legal way of setting up the video, so that you cannot watch while driving).
I want to be able to have the video on, so that my wife can watch a movie if she wishes while we travel.
For some reason when I look on HMAService I never see pics, and I am not sure part numbers are there.
does anyone know how I can find a part number for a switch that will fit in there (black/Dark Grey), and also how to replace the balnk with the switch?
Thanks anyone.

Hello!
They are looking for a 07 Limited AWD. Most dealerships (Oregon) in this area are charging over MSRP. If anyone knows of a good dealership that has good prices that will ship cars please let me know. They are looking for silver or black. I am hoping there might be a large dealership in Calif with good prices. That is how I bought my Evo for 5k less then up here in Oregon, even counting shipping!!
Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciate.

The MSRP added about $1500 for a so-called "appearance package" which includes VIN etching, paint sealant, door edge guards, wheel mell molding, and thin pinstripes. None of the other models on the lot included it since the SF I bought was a 'dealer-trade' that came from another dealership.
I tried to price this package on Hyundai's website but these are not listed anywhere, and nowhere on the Internet. I didn't pay for any of these extras because my purchase price was $1800 below dealer invoice after rebate, without all the extras added, and almost $5500 below the MSRP that included the extras.
Did anyone else get this package with their SF? It surprises me that not all models come with a paint sealant.

Wow - I'm shocked how much better my mileage has been the last couple tanks now that temps in Central/Southern Ontario are consistantly above 0 degrees Celcius. When I first picked up my SF it was late October so I haven't had a chance to see what it can do in warmer temps.
My last tank came in at 11.99 L/100KM and the tank from this week is my best yet
Metric (Canada) 10.80 L/100KM
Metric (Europe) 9.26 KM/L
US Gallons 21.91 MPG
Imperial Gallons 26.16 MPG
