The latest TrueDelta Vehicle Reliability Survey results have been posted. These are for the year ending June 30, 2007. Late responses could lead to further changes, but these are unlikely to be large.
For the 2006 Kia Sedona, I have an average of 4.9 months of data on 18 vans. This is an insufficient sample size, so the results are asterisked and only visible to members on the site. The stat of 82 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year (0.8 per vehicle) is a little worse than average for a 2006 model, and worse than I'm seeing for some other Hyundai models. The new Hyundai Santa Fe has a similar repair rate, though.
The sample size for the 2007 Entourage and Sedona, 13 responses, is too small to post a separate result, but its repair rate appears similar to the 2006's based on the data I do have.
Everyone who has been helping out with this research, thanks, these results would not have been possible without you. Those who aren't yet helping out, I hope you'll consider doing so.

I bought a 2007 hyundai entourage from lee hyundai in fayetteville, nc @ august. It has been in the shop 4 times for the same recurring problem and more. When the car temp heats up and is standing there i a lod knocking noise that sounds like two spoons tapping against one another over and over again. They changed the chain and the oil pump and it is now louder then before the fixed anything. They tell me its the computer adjusting the transmission and engine together.

yeah right....when a engine makes a noise it is never a normal or good thing at all, there is a problem and they tell me its normal. They even had a district manager from atlanta georgia drive up and tell us the same thing. We drove a loaner car same make and model but diff color and it did not have that same noise and they even brought a second car and no noise. I stood there for 20 minutes both cars cranked side by side and the dealers said see there Its the same and tried to make me believe that it was the same noise when clearly it wasnt. I have a lemon. And not only does the engine make a noise the steering wheel pulls to the side and they adjusted the axles and it still does the same thing, the air bag always comes on saying it is deployed when its not, and the driver side door makes clinking sounds. I have 3 kids and it just seems like this car is about to break down on me in no time. I am just waiting for the district manager to let me know what the dm in california has to say about this problem....but I know one thing this is not normal. Anyone has the same problem please let me know if its normal or not because this is so frustrating. New car, high payment and loud noise...I should of gone to Honda.

Hi all. I bought an Entourage SE back in February and have noticed that it seems to ride kind of rough when it starts each time. It seems to smooth out after a while, and I was wondering if this is a just how the Entourages are or if I have a problem. It feels kind of bumpy when the car first starts and for the next few minutes/miles, but seems to go away after a few minutes. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Is this normal? It doesn't seem to be consistent, and I can't seem to attached it to anything in particular (speed, temperature, etc.) I also had a vibration at 70+ mph, but the rebalanced it and it got better. This seems to be a separate problem though. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

We just bought a 2007 Entourage with the 6 speaker, single cd setup. Does anyone know the power output of the headunit or the size of the front door speakers? Are the front speakers components or are they standard speakers in the door?
Any help on this will be great, thanks.

Hi guys and gals,
I purchased my 2007 Entrouage Gl back in August, actually was the first to purchase at my dealership.
I have had an ongoing issue with the van however. In low speed breaking situations (ie; traffic 5-10mph) I hear a squeeking sound when I slowly apply pressure to the brake, or release the brake. It happens mostly when there is moisture on the ground/air.
I have brought it into the dealer, but it never seems to happen when we go for a spin around the block.
Dealer cannot "hear" the problem, so to them the problem is non-existant. Last time I complained, they changes some parts for the brakes, but it still happens.
It is somewhat embarrasing driving in traffic with squeeky brakes. Peoples first instinct is to look for the old 1991 Caravan, but they then realize it is my brand new hyundai van making all the noise.
I am pretty upset seeing that I paid over $30K for this Van. I am also stuck in a long-term lease.
If I could, I would trade it in for an 07 Santa Fe. I own an 04 Santa Fe and have never had any issues with it.
So far with the entourage, I have had problems with the following:
1. Brakes (squeeky)
2. Fuel economy (I get about 300Km for a full tank, totally unacceptable)
3. Heating / defrost (takes almost 20-25 minutes for my windows to defog/defrost)
4. TPMS monitoring system (dealer did not know tired needed to be inflated to 35PSI so my monitor was always going off)
5. No more "zip". First week from the dealer, this van moved like a bat out of ****, now, when the pedal is pushed to the floor it "lags" when accelerating. It also seems like the pedal does not depress like it used to.
6. Rear trunk rarely closes properly on first attempt.
All in all, if I could give this van back to the dealer, I would.

Having driven (Dodge Caravan) minivans with 'Auto delay off' headlights for many years, we just assumed our new Entourage would have this feature, and were astounded to discover that it does not. It is a feature that we really like. A Google search seems to indicate that US models of Entourage have the Auto Delay Off, but Canadian models do not. Can anyone comment on this? Thanks.

heres an email from HYUNDAI uk which i got today regarding replacement fo the Trajet .
Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding the Entourage.
There are currently no plans at present for this model to be marketed within the UK.
I have been advised of the possibility that vehicle production of the Entourage may be adapted for the UK market in the future. Unfortunately we are not able to confirm a date for this.
I appreciate that this response may not meet with your expectations however the Santa Fe is a highly competent 7-seat product offering superior levels of refinement and build quality. This excellent product is a wonderful alternative for the Trajet with a more flexible seating system that doesn't require the removal of bulky items to create additional space and loading configurations. The Santa Fe is a newer, more stylish and safer alternative to the mainstream MPV option.
I hope the above information is of use to you.
Yours Sincerely

I went to my dealer yesterday to get a fuel filter replaced, since the maintenance log says it was due at 37,500 miles. I normally go to Jiffy Lube for maintenance, but they said they couldn't since the fuel filter is in the gas tank. Anyway, My dealer said that they didn't have filter in stock, but not to worry as it was not required until 100,000 miles.
Another question, they didn't seem to know anything about the fuel tank air filter which was to be replaced at around 22,000 miles the first time I went in-- at that time they didn't know what it was. This time they said they didn't have it in stock, but wouldn't need it until 100,000 miles. Anybody know the REAL story??
The service order they gave me said Customer refused service (for fuel filter(S)). When I complained they wrote on my copy in pen saying that service was not needed until 100,000 miles, but it wasn't on their computer files.

Is there anyone else who is having problems with their transmission? I have had my Entourage only 2 months now, and wish I had never purchased it. The transmission thumps between 1st and 2nd gear, most of the time completely misses third gear, gets stuck in 4th gear and upshifts rather than downshifts when you accelerate and need a little more power. I have been back to the dealer on several occasions, and told that "that's just how they drive" and they will not fix it. My fuel consumption is only 13 miles per gallon on the freeway - isn't that a sign that something isn't right?
It is unsafe to drive in traffic, it will jump into 4th gear at 20 miles per hour. It is sluggish to take off in traffic, then will all of a sudden, drop down two gears, and take off too fast. It also surges when barely moving, like when I'm trying to park it in the garage and not hit the wall, it will pick up speed without any pressure on the pedal.
I would like to speak with other people who are also having problems with their Entourage and getting the same run around from their dealer and Hyundai. emails can be sent to : thishyundaiisalemon@hotmail.com I am hoping that collectively, as a group with the same problems, we can make Hyundai address the issues with their faulty transmissions.

Okay all - I want to hear from you all. At what milage did you perform your first oil change on your new van? What did you use? I am at 700 miles and am contemplating a change at 1500 miles with Castrol 5w-20 and then again at 3000 miles. After that I would likely change every 5,000 with a moderate priced synthetic like pennzoil platnum 5w-20. How bout you?

Does anyone have information on changing the oil and filter on an Entourage? There's no info in the manual. It only says to take it to a dealer for this maintenance. That's a problem for me because my nearest dealer is around 140 miles away.
Thanks. I appreciate any advice you may have.

I've come back to this forum because my sister-in-law is in the market for a new minivan and is going to replace her old Dodge Caravan. REALLY Old Caravan. She said she was leaning toward Dodge because of build quality - they've never had any problems with the Caravan and drove it to Vegas and back from LA a billion times. I'm going to try to sell her on the Entourage, of course, since I'm pretty sure it's an altogether superior vehicle to the Caravan and is certainly safer, going by the IIHS reviews.
My question to all of you Entourage owners, then, is if you would recommend the Entourage to others, and why or why not? Any comments here are appreciated.

Hi everyone...
I was just curious as to how to program the multi-CD changer.
Is it even possible to play tracks in a specific order once 6 CDs are loaded?
I know there is a bookmark feature, but I don't know if this has anything to do with the playing sequence of the tracks. Anyway, the long and short is that I want to set the player to jump around from CD to CD as opposed the playing a whole CD at a time. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Have a great day!

Does anyone know, is there a way to choke higher volume from the stereo? Keep in mind, I have the M445 stereo/CD player (this is a GLS Entourage) so it's not the fancy stereo. But it's aggravating that the volume control only goes to number 35 on the display, and that's it for volume.
Any hackers out there know a way around this? Thanks!

We went to the dealer to test drive the sonata and left with an entourage limited. After lugging the car seat around and trying ford cars, used honda oddysseys we thought that a large sedan would carry me, my wife and son well. We are big people in my family. Throw in the sales person on the test drive and it was crowded. The sonata is a very nice car. We figured that the mother in law would be more comfortable in the van on trips.
I've owned five hondas since 1986, a ford, a chevy, an Isuzu, a nissan, a subaru wrx and a toyota.
The initial appeal of the hyundai was the 10/100 warranty. Driving the Hyundai Sonata and Entourage sealed the deal. I will note, none of my Hondas, nissan or toyota needed any repairs before 120000 miles. The ford needed two transmissions before 70k miles and had defective door sensor switches that caused troubleshooting nightmares for me after the warranty expired and the rear brakes made grinding noises that the dealer could not hear until after the warranty expired. The isuzu was heavily abused and needed a head at 96K. Wrx needed ecu reprogramming at the dealer for a check engine light issue, in warranty.
This is Hyundai's turn. The dealer seems very nice so far.
So I've owned the Entourage for two weeks. This is how it's working out:
Gas mileage- lots of in town driving - avg 16.5 mpg. I hope it improves as the engine breaks in. The engine has a lot of torque- and it's very thirsty. I have to be very easy on the gas pedal in this vehicle. It will break traction easily from a stop if I'm turning the steering at all.
It's a dream on the highway- very quiet- very solid feel. Cruises quietly- hard to keep the speed down.
The problems- I have not taken it back to the dealer yet:
A rubber seal under the rear wing is sticking out near the third brake light. This is cosmetic.
I think I can hear a small "chirp" sound from one of the rear brakes as the vehicle comes to a stop. The sound is quiet, but nothing I would hear in a new toyota or honda.
The dealer is 30 minutes from my house on a good day. I hope I don't have to go to the dealer on a bad day.

The shimmy starts at about 50 ..then once you get to 70+mph forget it.,The entire steering wheel shakes..the console the passangers...The entire car...
I brought it to dealer...4 days later they aligned & balanced all 4 tires...
Drove home...Still exists....
Brought it back 1st working day...Monday..Havent seen the minivan since..
They got 4 new tires...Still shimmies...They think it s a bad AXLE? they wanted to swap my axle for the locat Myundai Motor Corp Factory Reps Entourage with about 1000 miles on it....NO NO NO NO NO
If i wanted to live in the service dept & talk until i m blue in the face to Hyundai corp...I would have bought something used...
I do not want anything but a new car that drives like a dream and see the service dept every 3000 miles for an OIL change...Not so with the Entourage..Buyer BEWARE..............

(first post warning!)
Can anyone with an Entourage in Canada comment on whether or not it has Homelink?
I notice on Hyundai USA's site, that the Limited trim level includes Homelink, but the Canadian brochure and website don't indicate Homelink on any trim level. I know the US Limited is almost identical to the Canadian GLS Leather, so am holding out hope.
I have a GLS Leather on order right now (have for about two weeks ... probably another week or two to go) and was in one, but can't remember. Does anyone have a Canadian GLS Leather? Can you let me know?
Assuming it's not available can anyone tell me where it's mounted in the USA model? Is it on the driver's visor? I'm considering ordering the driver's visor with module intact, and adding it to my truck. I know there are some dealers on the forum - can you comment on the feasibility of that?
Thanks!

Hello fellow Hyundai owners,
I am coming to you hoping I may get some information. My wife and I recently purchased a 2007 Entourage. She loves it but we have a couple of issues and the dealership keeps telling me it is a "Software problem with the van line." Anybody else have keyless entry that DOESN'T work and the dealer is telling me it that it is do to bad software and they cannot reprogram my door openers because of this. I live in Austin Texas. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've had my 2007 Entourage for about three weeks now and have been nothing but happy with it until three days ago. I was on the NJ Turnpike doing about 70 when the tailgate chime went off.
WTF?
Pulled over, pulled on tailgate. It was loose like I didn't close it properly. Shrugged it off. Unlocked the doors, opened it, slammed it shut, and resumed my drive.
Three minutes later...
ding, ding, ding, ding...
popped again!
There is nothing leaning on the door, and I have the base model, so there's no way that it could have been electrically triggered.
This just keeps happening now. I've checked the locking mechanism. Pulled on the door with it locked until the veins on my head swelled. That thing isn't coming open at all.
Unless I'm driving.
Seems like it's only at highway speeds, though.
This happens at least twice a day. I'm a field engineer for a telecom company here in NYC and work four states, so I get a lot of windshield time. (I normally log about 55k miles per year in the car.)
Has anyone else had this problem?
I called the dealership, they said they'd make me an appointment for next week if I want to bring it in...
I love this van, but I'm thinking about returning it...

We just bought a new Entourage. The alarm keeps going off about 15-20 minutes after I park and lock it. It doesn't seem to matter whether I set the alarm or not. I have only had this car less than a week, and it has been left at the dealership twice. They keep telling me it is not going off while there and they cannot do anything unless they see it going off. Many people have been around when the alarm sounds - including the guy who sold me the car. Anyone have a similar problem or a thought?[SIZE=7]

The service dept is telling me that the Entourage is designed to start only when the 1st cylinder is fired.....ever heard of this????
The issue was the car was having a hard time initially starting....almost like a dirty fuel injector....so it was brought in.
Interestingly, the car for the last three months has never done this and if this is a "by design" feature.....wouldn't this have been noticed previously....( it just started about a week ago )
Sounds a bit fishy to me.....!!!
Anyone else have an issue like this...or have been told the same thing??
Thanks
and.....the car has been fantastic otherwise!

What noises does your Entourage make?
My entourage makes the following unusual sounds:
a small knocking noise when the A/C is operating, only audible at idle.
a "squeak" from the brakes as it comes to a stop, not very loud but noticable to me.
a knocking noise at startup fast idle that quiets in 10 seconds
exhaust rumble on acceleration, slightly pronounced, compared to my friend's toyota.
I am reminded that this is not a Honda or Toyota upon startup- Hondas have always had a distinctive and pleasant (imho) starting sound. Toyotas just start, no pleasure or pain. Starting my Entourage is several seconds of cranking followed by a high idle and some knocking noises that all quiet down- from the sounds I can almost imagine that there are parts being oiled in there and quieting as the oil circulates. Having worked on a few engines in the past I would classify these sounds as normal operating conditions for this vehicle. Knocking is usually a bad thing.

Or does any one know if one can purchase a Daylight Running Daylight module from Canadian Hyundai Dealer. I called the dealer and they said they would not even entertain the thought of it. Reason is that it will cost too much to put this in. Called Canadian Tire, which the dealer suggested I talk to, and they said they will not do this since the light system on Entourage is not compatible with what they carry. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks.
