I own a 1998 Hyundai Accent 1.3L Gold model.
In the last few weeks, the oil light on the dash board has intermittently flashed at me, especially when I brake.
I have checked (and got a few others to check for me) and there is plenty of oil in the car, and it is not overfull either.
The car was last serviced 8 months ago, i do not do heavy mileage. The timing belt...

Ok i have 1999 Hyundai Excel its done 34,000 km and has no other problems. The Probme is that the car surges, loosing power in surges. This happens only maybe once a week so not often but often enough to be a very annoying problem. I have taken it to the Hyundai garage and they say its the TPS (throtal position sensor) and another sensor to do with the fuel. I also got it checked at...

I have a problem with my '96 Excel auto where i push the accelerator after sitting at a stop, but it takes several seconds for the car to move. The engine makes almost no sound, but it's like the pistons slow down or something. I have to floor it to get moving or people behind me begin to honk horns. Once it "kicks in", the car suddenly works properly and i get going. It...

hi there, I bought my 1998 Accent GL (automatic) on 118,000 km and it's worked great until now, (126,000 km). However, recently I've been having problems switching into overdrive. Starting a week and a half ago or so, it would occasionally refuse to switch up - regardless or whether I restarted the engine, etc. Other than that, it would work without me doing anything special.

Hello, I'm trying to replace the outside passenger door handle on a 1997 Hyundai Accent. I've had good luck, so far, in attempting to remove the interior door panel. For instance, I did manage to get the window crank removed with no problem thanks to the info I found on this board. However, getting the panel past the interior door handle is another matter. Anyone have some good...

Hi,
I have recently been having troubles with my driver's side door on my accent GL 98 (4 doors), as it would not unlock anymore (lock only went up halfway). I finally got around to fixing it this week, so I figured I might as well tell anyone else who's interested how to do it. I'm guessing that, although the doors are not the same length, it is roughly the same as with the...

My first post on this forum - Hello to everyone! Not new to these types of forums but constantly amazed at the amount of valuable info. My sons 1996 Accent is throwing CEL codes P0141 & P0137, found the downstream sensor corroded and housing cracked and separating just below where the wires go into the housing. Looks like this may be the problem. Water likely got into it.

The fuel filter hasn't been replaced in my 97 accent in a long time. I read on hmaservice that you need to relieve fuel pressure in the lines by taking out the back seat to disconnect the punp harness or something? Isn't removing the gas cap enough, or what about removing the fuel pump fuse and cranking the car, will that work? Am I better off having it done somewhere at risk of screwing...

An earlier topic addressed the key getting stuck in the ignition. I have a 95 Accent with an Auto trans. Someone mentioned disconnecting the battery to get the key out. This didn't make sense until i tried it last night and sure enough, it worked. There was never an explination or fix posted for this problem so i was curious to see if anyone has figured out how this works.

I was able to get the old cord for the block heater unplugged, but I spent two hours outside trying to plug the new one back in. The plug in is located behind the engine and I was not able to do it.
