When I picked up my LX, I noticed the rust on the rotors which went away after driving/braking.
It rained last night and this morning the rust is is there again.
Is this normal?
Anything to correct it?
It seems strange to see orange in the wheels.
Thanks,
S

Today I just got the release of title letter. It is a two-page letter and it seems the second page is the release. So, what should I do with this release paper? Bring it in to DMV and get a new title? (I actually havn't got the initial title yet)
The second question is, on the first page, they mentioned: "You may be entitled to a refund of the unsused credit life and/or...

While washing my car (for the first time) today, I noticed that the lens covers for the fog lights moved.
I could push it in.
The passenger side more than the drivers.
Does yours?
Will water get inside?
Thanks again.

I have a klunk noise when 2nd gear engages only on a cold start. Note only on a cold start and second feels like a surge or a dead spot before it engages into 2nd gear. After that the noise goes away but the the surge is still there for the most part. The noise doesn't happen when I shift from 1st to 2nd. The dealer has acknowledged the problem but has said that their engineers say that the...

Hello...
Just a quick question.
On some sections of highway where the pavement has spaced "openings" ?
I have noticed an odd metallick noise that appears to be from the rims ?
I do not hear it on most ( 99 % ) road surfaces.
Is this common with this kind of wheel / rim ?

I know this may annoy some here...
But had the Sonata been offered for a COMPARABLE price (no rebates at the moment) and a comparable warranty to its main rivelry...
would you still chose it over the others?
Now, look yourself in the mirror, and tell yourself the TRUTH.
(Of course I mean USD...

...Went to see my barber this morning.... He saw me getting out of the Sonata and started talking about it...
He was telling me about 2 other clients of his who were so enthusiastic about their new Sonata... One of them, he says, is a guy who's NEVER satisfied with ANYTHING...
But the interesting part is, a cousin of his works as a engineer at GM headquarters in Detroit....

Good Morning all my fellow Sonata owners!
A couple of recent experiences I thought I'd share with you.
First experience, I had to drive my girlfriends 05 Mazda 3, 2.3 hatchback the other day as she wasn't feeling very well and there was a lot of traffic and she bought a standard 5 speed, (don't ask, she read it was "funner" to drive) So we get back...

Saturday morning my wife and I go out to the car and it stinks something awful. We couldn't find anything all day Saturday and most of today. I went over to Advance Auto and got some carpet cleaning stuff. I cleaned up the floormats and such and could still smell something.
So I was vacuuming the carpet cleaning stuff up and I noticed an area under the rear driver side floormat...

In 2003 I bought my Elantra with the 0% 48 month financing plan; then the month later they extended the 0% rate to 60 months.
They did it to me again with the Sonta - this month they are offering 0% for 60 months !! I bought the car two weeks too soon default/blink.gif' 'blink.gif'...

We've had the S'notta for a month now, but haven't been approached, or contacted about a survey, or questionaire. Does it usually take this long? I know Hyundai is working hard on gaining quality "Brownie" points. I am wondering how jaded the questions are. If you say the car goes "k-thump, or the headrest rattles, or the engine whines," do they just brush it off...

So, even though this is a "familyish" sedan, it looks like there are loads of mods to be done (if desired).
I am thinking of tinted windows and some real xeon headlamps. From what I can tell, knowone has done the xeons yet, but I was curious if anyone has done tints, and also what other mods have been done?

Hi All,
I just got my 2006 Sonata LX last week and I really love it. Only one problem I have noticed is that sometimes not all time but sometimes when approaching a full stop like for a red light I notice the wheel sometimes shakes a bit when coming to a stop. Is this normal?

I don't want to be negative but I thought you all might find this interesting, especially considering there have been a couple of threads here lately dealing with US/Canadian prices.
Compared to the US available models, prices for the Sonata in Korea range from about $26,000 to $29,500 US for the 2.4 litre 4 cyl, and if you want a 6 cyl, there's only one...

Has anyone else had their windshield washer fail? It worked when I first got the car but sometime between then and this week it went south.
You don't really use that feature too much in Arizona but I was on a trip to San Diego and when I tried it - nothing. Not out of fluid - just dead.

Since there hasn't been a thread for US costs recently, I thought I'd start it up again. I know Quinty has a discussion going for north of the border, but this is for those of us without socialized medicine.
Here's the deal I worked out for an '06 LX, base model:
Vehicle cost before tax, title, and licence: $20361
Here's my math:

I think I figured out the ESP this weekend. With it off the throttle is more responsive, faster to actually open up, thus the car feels faster. I think when the ESP is on, the throttle is calibrated to a slower response time. Remember we have drive by wire so the computer does control the throttle. As far a MPG going up with the ESP off again just a thought but since the throttle is more...

Hey guys, I have been looking in previous posts for any information regarding this but all I have come up with is the "self-test ABS" between 0 and 8 MPH. However, I am experencing what I would consider a hiccup in the transmission between first and 2nd and 2nd and third noticeably. I was wondering if it is adviseable to get them to reset the values so that my transmission can relearn...

We have developed a very strange problem with our 06, LX. When there is frost on the windows the radio is all static on all stations. Even with the frost removed it's still all static. In the afternnon all is well. On cold mornings when there is no frost the radio is fine. I scanned all the posts and didn't see anything like this mentioned. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced...
