Because existing sources of auto reliability information left much to be desired, in late 2005 I started conducting my own reliability research at . TrueDelta reports absolute stats like "trips to the shop" that make the differences between cars much clearer. Results are updated four times a year, so any significant changes in a model's reliability become apparent quickly.

Hi I have a 2002 elantra, and bring it to my local dealership for all repairs, and I am starting to regret doing it.
So, I am kinda getting sick of my local dealership making me feel like an idiot who doesn't know how to pump gas. I never top off my gas, because that's what I learned you should not do when I started driving over 7 years ago... However, I have been told 3 times...

I have a 2002 Elantra. It seems that the lights that go on when I brake will not go off, including the one in the center rear window. My headlights go on and off as usual, but the rear bake lights are stuck. I do not know what to do, but have unhooked the battery so it will not get drained. Has this happened to anyone before? It is driving me crazy, and how do I fix it. Also, how do you change...

Hello. I have noticed the last few weeks that my car will not accelerate after immediately stepping on the gas pedal. I would have to continue pressing down on the pedal before it finally moves. This may take about two to three seconds. This problem only occurs when I step on the pedal the first time after starting the car (and usually after the car has not been used for several hours--such as...

I have a 2005 Elantra 5 speed. I noticed with the stock radio if the cruise control was engaged, it would create electrical noise on weak AM radio stations. I replaced the stock radio with a good Clarion unit and the same problem exists. I could live with this as I am usually not in a bad area commuting from home to the office for a long time.
This past weekend I had to replace the...

My A/C went out 1.5 weeks ago. I can turn the knob and it may come on briefly if I get it to the right spot. Last week I took to dealer to have it looked at and they said that the blower motor switch was faulty. This was AFTER I had the 60000 mile service (car has over 100K miles but that's beside the point). They ordered the part and it should be in this week. My question is, how do I install...

Well the good news (from my previous post) is that the car is running or should I say, was running. We purchased a new battery and ran the car for about 30-40 miles and then the car lost all power. To say the least with all we have been through with this car, I freaked. Anyway, down to troubleshooting again. This time the problem is the alternator is not charging the battery. The car...

I now have 2 elantras a 2002 and a 2003. I aquired the 2003 last week from my wifes 95 yr old grandmother with only 12k on it! It runs great, but I ran into a a problem. I replaced the front brake pads, and now it doesn't stop that well. I used resbestos pads like I have on my 2002. The car was not used for 11 mnths prior to me purchasing it. any suggestions? Should I replace the calipers?
