Is the alternator for 2003 elantra the same as with the 2002 elantras? I am planning to replace the alternator for the 2002 elantra with parts coming from a 2003 elantra (alternator). I believe I have a defective 2002 elantra alternator. It burns my headlight twice already once I start the car and the console light are very bright.
It has run 65 miles since a MIL light and SRS light...

I have a 97 elantra that has just gone threw its 2nd automatic transmission. It tends to be a trend for the 97's in most of the forums i read online. I was wondering if it would be possible to install a manual transmission instead of an automatic. If this is possible which i think it is what would i need. Is it even worth it and is it just worth selling my fair condition elantra that needs a...

Hello all, bought a 1997 Lantra Estate 1.8 CD yesterday been looking for a nice looking estate for a while but this one seemed to stand out so I bought it! Being 11 year old it has a few little problems that I would like to sort out, but as there is no Haynes manual which I've relied on a lot with my other cars I'm stuck.
The air con doesn't seem to work just blowing...

I have a 2005 Hyundai Elantra. Lat year when I bought it, it had 21,000 miles on it, now it has 33,500. Well when I first got after I drove it for a while the right rear would make a clunking noise. Took to dealer and he said he heard it also. They gave me a loaner and kept the car for a week. Them after that they said they could not find the problem! They said just drive it and when...

Hi,
I have a Lantra 1.6Si from 98 with 115k miles on the clock. My brake drums have become very rusty and are affecting handling now. I'm looking at replacing them, happy with second hand. Are these brake drum unique to this model or all Lantras or are they also the same to Accents, etc?

I have a 1999 Elantra and the int. wiper control and park does not work. The slow and fast speeds work fine. I have checked fuses and motor works fine (connected up spare working motor, and verified it worked, only on slow and fast wiper speeds as well).
According to the schematics the ETACM is responsible for the int wiper, timing control, and auto parking. I need to first get to the...

Hi,
2000 Elantra hatchback with factory immobiliser, transponder in key, located in Sydney/Aust.
symptom ; starts AOK, then soon as starts, dies immediately. Not even enough time to rev it, just starts and dies immediately.
Key to "off" then try restart.
Often will not fire, but occasionally will repeat the start-then-die-immediately scenario.
Can...

Hi. I have a 99 Elantra 5 speed. When I press the peddle down 25%, it revs fine. When i press it doen 50 % it bogs down. 100 % fairs a little better. I replaced and gapped the plugs, plug wires and replaced the fuel filter. I kept doing it. It stalled one morning and the check engine light came on. I had a garage take the codes. It had a Engine coolant temp sensor, a Air Charge temp sensor...

The engine in my 1997 Elantra just recently started making quite a bit more noise than usual. The noise, which resembles a loud roar, is most noticeable at higher speeds (approximately 50-60 mph). Performance does not appear to be affected in any way, however, I just had to put a half quart of oil into it after receiving an oil change only about two weeks ago. The engine has roughly 100,000 miles...
