I own a 2004 Hyundai Matrix. I've read articles on Strut Bars and am convinced on it's usefullness. This is where my problems begin:

I've tried 3 brands so far. 3 different retailers, 1 same problem!

The 3 brands I tried were Korea Moters (Korean), Pro-Car (Malaysian) and Ultra-Racing 4-point Strut...

every time I go to hyundai service center for oil change , they use mobil 1 0w-40 , but this time at the 30 000 km service they told me that they had stopped dealing with mobil and they are using shell helix ultra 15w-50 , so which oil in your opinion would be the best ? and which is more recommened for our matrix ? shall I continue using the new shell helix ultra or get back...

Matrix's AirCon control is always by default return to fresh air mode
after you turned off your engine.. find that's it **** of inconvenient..
this DIY mod will be able to set the default to always closed at recycle mode.
There is 2 step to be done,
1st is the air con control unit,
2nd is to reverse polarity of the aircon flap above the air con blower/filter.

Start by removing the Centre Console,
refer to -

Tools required is a Phillips Screw Driver and a piece of cloth,
After having removed the centre console, take a piece of cloth and insert below the Cluster Panel as shown,
push the ODO Switch upwards to remove, you'll need to push hard initially cos it quite tight if you are removing it for the 1st time

My 2 year old Matrix 1.6GSI (18000 miles) has developed an intermittent starting problem. Generally it starts OK but from time to time for no apparent reason it just turns and turns and will not fire. There is no pattern to it, ie cold/warm/ wet/dry/ pressing accelerator pedal or not. It has had regular servicing and is obviously under warranty.

I don't how many of you out there are facing the same problem I am facing. I drive a matrix 1.6A and it's only 9 months old but my engine sound is worst than a Taxi. Whenever I accelerate my RPM would shot up very high and the engine feels like it's going to explode.

I've just had a problem with my Matrix and wondering if any of you might be able to shed some light on what's happened.

I'd just been driving for approximately 1/2 mile in a 20mph when i went into a 30 zone so i accelerated a little to bring up my speed, as I accelarated where it normaly changes into the next gear it didn't my revs went higher than normal...

anyone know how to remove speedmeter? my lamp is broken so i have to remove it but i am affraid that i could break the center facia. please share
