I brought my getz in for 1K servicing and ask them to also remove this big chunk of tuff-kote stuck in between the joints of my bumper (just above the back wheel) and u know what???? I found MANY DEEP SCRATCH MARKS in the joints. Scratch until the paintwork fell off!
Some lazy mechanic must have inserted a cloth with screwdriver and try to scrap it out instead of removing the bumper parts.
So I complained to the SA and he told me "bo bian, come back on a weekday and we will repaint it for you. Weekend we cannot do, not even if you bring it in at 8am."
Is this true? Weekend cannot do?!!!! Super ****.

Hi Matrix Owners in Singapore,
Jez sharing some info....
I remember the days when, IF we needed any parts of our motor vehicle replaced, we need look no further than our Brand Agent....
Aniwaes, I had to remove my pre-amp (modified to sit under my audio head deck) recently because it was making an 'aeroplane' noise. Furthermore, with my upgraded head deck, there really wasn't a need for the pre-amp (equilizer). The Tray Centre Facial had to be replaced because the previous installers cut the back of this pocket to fit in the pre-amp (equilizer). When I called Komoco, the service staff seemed rather confused what I was talking about! What's worse, when they finally declared they understood what I was talking about, they just ended the call by saying, "Sorry, we don't carry it!"
What nerve!!
So I drove down to Komoco at Alexandra and grabbed hold of a service staff. I mean, who cares that the Service Department was just closed for the day. I (literally) dragged him to my car and showed him the part that needs replacing. Fortunately, this Service Staff was A.O.K. (maybe I looked like a ticking time bomb!

)
Jacky referred me to this dealer:
SONG YI AUTO PARTS TRADING
BLK 637 VEERASAMY ROAD #01-119 SINGAPORE 200637
Tel: 6297 3700
Seeing that Jacky was really scared that I would blow up any moment, I took advantage of my upper hand and demanded that he called them!
Jacky was new and took some time describing the part. But the reply he got (while I was sitting in front of him) was almost immediate! He was even quoted a part number!!
I went down to Geylang (not for sight seeing

) and finally found the outlet. It was pretty cool! It had almost anything from original Hyundai Oil Filters, Air Filters, Air-Con Filters etc. What impressed me most is their knowledge of the spare parts we enquire about. And it comes with the ORIGINAL Hyundai Wrapper!

WAHHHHH!!!!
I guess, it is the next best thing to at least have ANOTHER place we can go to to find Original Parts. Of course, I wouldn't use Original Oil or Air Filters but some of it are really cheap. For example, the BOSCH Air-Con Filters are about S$25 with GST compared to S$60 if you were to get it from a workshop!
And, if you do make enquiries over the phone.... Ask whether the price is WITH OR WITHOUT GST! Of course, I so needed the Tray Centre Facial that I would have paid like S$50 for it! Fortunately, it was only S$26.25 WITH GST!
Cheers! Hope this helps my Singapore Matrix Comrades!
P.S. I do not represent or endorse SONG YI or KOMOCO.... I'm merely sharing information... So go or don't go.... It's up to ya!
Oh! And thanks Jacky for the great follow-up work!

May I know are bull bars allowed in SG?
Some of my friends said it is not allowed, but now in SG alone, I have come across over a lot of Matrixs, Trajets, Santa Fes, Tucsons, as well as Sportages, where their owners have actually installed bull bars at the front and rear.
If can, where can I get one?

Anyone has any idea when they are launching the 2.0L model?

Halo everybody,
I got my 1.6A Hyundai Matrix about 2 months ago.
But only now that i registered to know more about my car.
Feel good to drive althought the FC is on the high side.
But was told by my friend that it will improve after the first 10,000.
Wanted to install the side step to make it nicer......
Can any 'senior' guide me?
