Hi I have an 04 Getz and the ABS system has gone on it has anyone else had this trouble I'd appricate a little advice please

brand new and straight out of the dealer, the speedometer and digital odometer of my getz was not working. is this a norm? or is it possible my unit was a "test unit" since they do turn off odometers on them to be able to sell them at "0 mileage".

anyone have any ideas? i love my getz and i hate to think that i was duped.

Has any one removed a front door panel on a Getz? Espesialy the plastic srew covers on the side of the door where the lock is. I want to replace my speakers with JL speakers and dont want to damage anything? Thanks!

Have any of you guys/guyesses replaced the bulbs in the front fogs for a brighter bulb, if so what make, fitting (H4orH7) and wattage did you use, I have done some looking up on various sites and I think that "Phillips Blue Vision Ultra or GT150" would be the best, but no-one seems to know what will fit what ???????????

i have good news for those who have not tried breaking in their engines. mine is a 1.1 li and i used to have a problem with FC and power. but since i made a "break in" to the engine, it capped 165km/ li top speed and a 16 km/li FC! no wonder getz is so lazy at first! try to push the limits of your getz and you'll see the power that i mean!

Hi I have purchased a remote central locking kit of good quality but am having trouble fitting it because of the plug in the door frame that carrys the wires for the speakers (so I imagine a Hyundai kit is a plug in type fitting but the cost is prohibitive) can anyone help me with this problem any help would be much appreciated Kind regards dodgey

I pick up my new 1.5 manual Getz this week and haven't had a new car for twenty five years.
What is the method of running in an engine these days.
85% of my driving is on freeways.
Another 10% is 70 & 80 KPH on country roads.
There is no hilly country.
I may have a seven hour journey from Brisbane to Kempsey about fortnight after picking up the vehicle, at which time I'll have driven it about 800 km in my normal driving life.

My Getz had a problem right from start, but the dealer can´t hear or recognize the problem.

When I move on in first and second gear there is an rumbling from left front side, proberly from left front brakes or clutch or gearbox. It only appear once, until the car have been parked for a while again.

It seems to happen more often in cold and rain weather, not when it is warm weather.

In winter sometimes it happens that first came the rumbling, then a sound from a spring, this was when it was really cold weather.

The odd about this problem is that it's only happens once when I start, not again if hold for red light.

I hope someone can figure this out.

hello guys, i have a hyundai getz 1.1 and i am planning to drop it. but my problem is, it seems my 195/50 r15 tires up front may hit the front fender during cornering and uneven highways. although i have not tried it, only 30mm drop kits are available for my ride. would it hinder the front fender? should i switch tire and rim size? ifever this is possible, how many mm's of bump stops (in the shocks) should i take off for a better ride? need your help guyz... i really like and need this forum. more power to all!

It is coming to EU at the end of summer 05, equiped with new 110hp diesel engine. It looks more sportier now,but not too original (similar to peugeot 206)....anyway i still like it, just like i did before facelift!

The left globe above the rear number plate has blown. I tried to replace it, but cannot figure out how to remove the globe from its socket.

of lately i got fixed the problem of a faulty wiring of my music system and all went well till today,when i realised a certain vibration sound was coming from the roof my car.
I've fitted my getZ with four component speakers in the door and a self-amplified sub-woofer in the boot.I've this habbit of listening to loud music but only when its crystal clear.....
the vibration sound is coming from the roof sheet adjacent to the in-roof light on the driver side.When I push the roof or hold it hard against itself,the vibration sound stops,but as soon as I leave it,the rattling sound re-appears and it sucks! I'm sick of it. What shall I do? What lies beneath that white sheet fitted on the roof? How do I open it? Are there any electrical connections going thru the roof? I'm planning of opening the roof but dont know how and where to begin from....any suggestion plz

I am having a small problem with my new Getz 1.3 GSi.

Like some of you the fuel consumption is higher than expected. Higher than my last car which was a Ford Focus 1.6 estate (wagon). I also have the problem of a very responsive throttle. When even pressing the throttle pedal only about 5mm the revs jump up to about 4000rpm. Is this normal?

I think the two problems may be related, anyone else got both too?

I have just bought a new Getz 1.3 GSI and love it but I'm not too happy with the fuel economy I'm getting. It's only covered 1000 miles and so far it's working out at only 38miles to the gallon rather than the estimated 49 . I've been told that this will improve after the engine has bedded in but 11 MPG is a lot to make up.

Whats sort of MPG are all you other getz owners getting from new ?

I am going to fit my new BBTB tomorrow, but its a long time since I fitted any component to a engine, so have any of you out there fitted a BBTB and if so what sealant did you use on the gasket, the last time I did anything like this I would use "Hermatite", but if I remember there are a couple of different colours for different applications, any advice would be more than welcome

I was wondering have any of you guy/guyesses ever thought of a engine transplant on a Getz, it got me thinking when I read a article about a Accent owner fitting a Tiburon 2 litre into their car, surely a Getz engine bay can accomodate a Accent engine, therefore a Tiburon ?? or am I just living on dreams !!! If I am wrong about the Tiburon, I have also read that a 1500 Accent can be fitted with a Tibron Turbo !! FOOD FOR THOUGHT MAY BE.

The neo wheels offers a good variety of alloy wheels and'm damn interested in fitting one R-15 wheel.....If that's not possible cud you guys suggest the best Rim size and tyre size option for Getz?

Hey All.

I hate to say I have had a fair few problems that Hyundai dealers have struggled to fix not once but 4 times and it is still not fixed.

The problem is with the Brakes it is an intermittant fault but sometimes when braking you can hear a knocking/rubbing noise. I had a rough idea myself what it could be, the shoe on the rear drums.

They fobbed me off with things like suspension and tyres etc which i new could not be true eventually they owned up that the problem was the shoe on the rear drums. Attempted to fix it a fair few times but have been unable to and noise keeps coming back.

Not a huge problem but it would be handy to get it fixed.

Anyone know of this problem?

I own a getz 1.3 manual transs. version.
I've had my car fitted with a Pioneer 7650 Music system, 5" soomoku component speakers- 4 nos(one on each door) and a heavy duty 8" self amplified subwoofer by soomoku.
For all these days,I generally listened to volume at high Db's....but the problem started when i started listening to medium volume.I was surprised to see that the car volume would gradually increase with the increase in engine RPM!!! I know it sounds ridiculous,but its a problem I just cant solve.
Is it possible that the inbuilt amplifier of the subwoofer is causing this fluctuation in sound volume? Is it possible there are some problems with the OE wiring? What can it be???
The clarity and crispness of sound produced is mind blowing,but the tendency of volume to increase with increase in RPM has made me go mad.I havent taken my car to the sound mech's yet.Coz if they figure out I've got less knowledge on the topic,they'd sure charge me a fortune...
One more thing,the subwoofer doesnt sound loud at high volume!!! i can only listen to the component tweeters!!!

i just had a rear sway bar installed on my getz and it's absolutely awesome kills most of the body roll and the steering response improves greatly i highly recommend you look into having it done on your getz's, or at least if you're like me and you have better / more responsive handling high on your wish list!

After a while of use, engine noise comes through the stereo as a kind of wheezing, and gets louder at higher revs/when dipping the clutch. strange! Maybe something wrong with the surpression?

is the 1.6 engine in the 2004 getz the same as the on in the 2004 accent

I just bought a Hyundai Getz 1.3 Gl, after many hour on reviews and comments. Now I'm waiting for the delivery, wich should be the next monday. I am still thinking if I did the right thing with this, after I have to pick up from Getz, VW Polo, Toyota Yaris and Peugeot 206.

I have a 2002 Elantra that does not have cruise contol. A friend of mine has the parts for the curise off from a wrecked 5 speed like mine. Would it be possible to add cruise to my vehicle?

Does anyone know if there are any bolt-on solutions for a cold air intake on a Getz???

If there are no finished solutions to buy, then how would you go about making one yourself??

Summer is coming up and I know my Getz will loose about 20% power in the heat only because the intake sits strapped on right next to the cooler and the air going to the engine will be VERY HOT.

I want to increase performance without increasing engine noise. Any other tips except for a CAI are also welcome. I have read about using grounding wires, but does it actually work or is it just a voodoo thing??

Does anyone know how to remove the centre console from the Hyundai Getz? I want to spray it silver myself because the ~$500 option at the dealers sounded ridiculous.

Also I plan on changing the head unit in the future

Another part I'd like to take out would be the plastic bits on the door arm rests which surround the power window controls.. there's a single screw there that's easy to take out but the plastic bit doesn't come off even after it is out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
