I'v got 2003 hyundai getz without fog lights, but i wuld like instal them. i just dont know how.. maby somebody can help me with some advice?

Ok I don't know much about cars, so I'll do my best to explain the problem. I have a 2002 automatic getz and I recently got a transmission flush done. It use to be a bit rough changing from first to second, it would bump. But as soon as the tranmission fluid change was done now it's really bad. It now struggles and over revs (I think that's what you call it) for a few seconds and the whole car bumps worse than before. It sounds like it not going to change sometimes. Anyway is it possible that the fluid change could've caused this, or the mechanic did something wrong? Or maybe it's just a big coincedence? I just want to know if I chould hold the machanic responsible or I should just go and get it fixed.

Hope some one can help in the community.My wife drives a Auto 2003 1.3 Getz. Car will be driving and will stop somtimes . I replaced fuel pump but to no avail car still stops will not start.This also happens when you park the car.
Found if you leave car for around half an hour will start.Had it back to our mechanic car will not stop of course.had car on computer had 14 faults cleared them all yet again it stopped.Has any one any had same fault or i hope some one can help us.

I'm replacing my dash dial bulbs and was wondering what type of bulbs I would need and how many?

The garage I'm taking it to said there was about 6 diff types of bulbs so I don't want to get the wrong ones!
My guess is the T5 286 Push-Fit as they seem to be popular...

Glad to be part of this Forum. I'm based in Sri Lanka, and I'm looking to get a reliable and safe vehicle for my wife. The Getz isn't too popular here, and there aren't very many around, however, I've always liked the design and how it looks. I'm more concerned about it's reliability though, as my wife will be driving it around town with our newborn daughter. Here are a few details of the vehicle I'm considering:

Year & Model: 2003 Getz
Mileage: 43,000km
Engine & Transmission: 1.3L Petrol, Automatic
Other: Power steering, power windows, power door locks, ac.
Body & Paint: Black, no accidents
Does not have: ABS & Airbags

How well does this vehicle do on fuel? I test drove it, and the main issue so far is that the front suspension (ball joints, tie rod ends) seem to be worn, as I could hear "thump" noises when going over bumps. Seemed to have plenty of power and the transmission seemed to shift with a little bit of a jerk from 1st to 2nd gear, but it wasn't too bad. How's the transmission when it comes to reliability? Anything else I need to look out for? Thanks for any advice!

I have a 2004 model Getz 1.5l. non ABS.The brakes are due for a flush and thought I might have a go at it myself( the car is out of warranty).I have bled brake systems before but was wondering what sequence for bleeding is used and are there any pitfalls to look out for ?

Downloaded the manual however it appears it only notifies you of oil amounts for the 1.1 & 1.3L. Anyone care to share how much oil the 1.6L takes with and without filter.

I have a 2009 1.6 getz (G4ED) done 7000 Km (4300 miles) few weeks ago it started developing a light ticking sound but only when it's cold, when the water reaches about 70 degrees Celsius the ticking is gone and the engine is as smooth as butter, the car is working fine, no oil consumption at all no overheating, i can do 170 Km/H all day long with the AC on with no trouble at all.

this noise is very apparent between 1500-2000 RPM , if i blip the throttle to say 3000 rpm i could hear it clearly when the rpm is falling down between 2000 to 1500 rpm, it's not clear at idle or above 2500rpm and it doesn't increase with load.

i don't think its a piston slap because the ticking is fast and very light, i heard piston slap before and it was slower but stronger sounding and it increases with load, so what do you guys think? is it the lifters or the injectors??

the last time i changed oil and filter they used shell 5W/50 mineral oil not synthetic or semi synth, could a bad oil cause that ticking.

The only mods I have are a K&N panel filter and ScanGauge II

Hi I'm from Singapore and wondering what could I modify in my Getz 1.1M 2009 for better acceleration?

I've dragged every gear to 5k rpm and it still seems to be slow. I've tried pick up with my friend's new vios 1.5M, (spec E i think coz theres a small E behind he's car) I was still unable to be faster than him even tho he changed every gear at 3k rpm.

i got a feeling i cannot get a roof rack, i see no visible signs on the strips along the roof for mountings and the strips are continuos no cuts in them.
can you tell me if i can fit a roof rack to this car please

My girlfriend has a Getz (2003 1.3 GSi) and the key is sticking in the drivers door so I have decided to fit a remote system to the central locking so that she does not need the key to open the doors. I did this a few years ago on a 2000 Ford Fiesta using the wiring digram from a Haynes manual and it worked fine. Does anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram from (for the locking system)? If you could post it that would be great.

Does anyone know if the alternator of a Getz 1.6m can fit the Getz 1.1m?

Hi, does anyone know if the door mouldings are just stuck on or if they are clipped on as well - ie when you take the side mouldings off does it have holes in the door and rear body panel?

I rented a Getz for three weeks, Is there any way I can make hard to steal. Im in a high crime area and I would like to know if there is any thing quick and easy, that I can take, do , remove from this 2008 Hyundai Getz to make it more diffacult to steal. Im in and out of the car alot. It has a manual trans. People say the theives drive them off.

I am living in the Netherlands, Europe and have a black 2005 3doors CRDI. I have bought new wheels in size 17x7j with offset 37. I saw that some people on this forum also have 17'' but i dodn't wat it rubber my fenders in the front. My car is 30mm Eibach lowered and I would like to know if someone has the experience with these sizes and lowering. I would also know where I can buy the long rear garnish with the chrome striping in it. The part No is H08320-1C000. Here in the Netherlands I can't order it because Hyundai dos not have it, but I saw it on more Getzes and I would like to know the costs for it and if it fits the 2002-2005 model.

I have a Hyundai Getz 1,3 from 2004 and won't to install Fog lights (the original ones.).

someone who knows if the wires are pulled and the relay is installed or do I need to draw new wires and buy a relay.

I bought lamps and a switch, have some wires.
I think the set from the dealer was too expensive. so just wanted to pull wires even if it was necessary.

Anyone have done this before or have guide? I have the Schematic Diagrams for Front fog lamps.

Anybody knows of any affordable coilover? Height adjustable? Websites if any...

I need to remove the fuel pipes from the fuel filter in the Getz CRTD GSi diesel. They have clips where they join the filter. How does these work?

We recently had quite heavy rain for about 4 days, the car was parked out in all of it. anyway there is a big patch at the bottom of the windscreen on the RH wheel guard where the clear is flaking off the base paint, it looks awful. After closer inspection the paint on the bonnet, Pillars (the ones that go up the side of the windscreen), roof and the painted bit on the top of the rear window is all starting to bubble in places. I don't have a very well paying job so i cant really afford to repair it but at the same time if i dont its gonna look crap, quickly.

I have four questions...

1. Will insurance pay for it? im with RACQ
2. I have been told by a couple of spray painters that yellow (the car is yellow) paint is glossy already and shouldnt have clear on it in the first place. Is this true?
3. All of the effected areas were repaired/repainted as a result of hail damage when the car was about 2 years old (its a 2002 Model). I went to the same repairer to get a quote on fixing the paintwork (he was one of the painters that said it shouldnt have clear on it, on the quote they were charging to put clear back on it :S) would the work when repairing the hail damage be covered by warranty?
4. As far as i can see the original paintwork hasnt been effected ie. the paint that hyundai put on during manufacture, it is just the paintwork that was re-done repairing the hail damage. My question is, shouldnt paint last longer than 6 years?

HOW DO I REPLACE THE CAM BELT ON A 2005 GETZ 1.3 CAR

Hi,

I recently bought my hyundai getz from my local dealership in November but since then has developed a high pitched squeaking noise.

The noise only happens when I'm using first gear or reverse and will disappear when I start moving through the higher gears or take my foot off the clutch.

I suspect that something's loose as this has happened before with a very old Vauxhall Corsa I used to own due to the poor state of the roads in the local area.

Shall I just take it back to the garage and get them to tighten whatever it is up?

i recently bought an 03 plate getz 1.1 which didnt have a stereo fitted, i bought a new cd player but the wiring block didnt fit, so i bought an iso adapter lead, this fits but still no power to the head unit ??? the new iso adapter has a yellow and a red wire which were not connected to anything and just wrapped around the other wires, do they need to be fitted somewhere ?? im totally lost when it comes to anyting electrical so any help would be much appreciated guys. thankyou in anticipation of your assistance.

Recently, when I turn my air con on I get a waft of a really horrible smell thats fades once the heater heats up.
It smells like soggy socks and what we would call 'foosty'.

If I turn the air con off it goes away, but sometimes it is so strong it lingers once my car has been turned off.

Also after I come home from work (about a 40 min journey) I park in my drive and get a really bad smell like rotten hot garbage, or drains- but its gone in a few seconds.
I dont know if its something to do with me reversing, going up a hill or what?


Anyone had similar problems? I hate having to Febreeze my car everyday!!

The Low fuel level light is staying on even after re-fuelling the tank so it is full. The fuel gauge appears to be reading okay. Any views or help on this matter would be appreciated. Model is Gezt SE 2006.

Is there anything you have to be carefull of when replacing the engine coolant or is it just a matter of draining the old fluid flushing the system and refilling.On the last service check it was meant to be replaced but the service department didn't replace it because of the low mileage I do.I was under the impression that engine coolant needed to be relaced on time its been in the car rather than mileage travelled. Could somebody enlighten me on that please.

I have a 2003 Getz 1.1. I have cleaned it out today and have noticed the floor is wet on the drivers side, have spoken to my other half that thinks it might be the heater matrix. This sounds expensive to me, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem? I did read somewhere that it shouldn't be going wrong this early in the cars life, hence why I am asking here. Has anyone had to replace their heater matrix? If so was it expensive?

The latest thing that has started going wrong, is that the car starts after 2/3/4 tries. I can hear the ignition working but the car won't turn over. After a couple more tries it starts. The last time, I tried a couple of times then had to wait and try again.

Is it the fuel injection system? Is it the engine immobiliser coming on? (I once had to use the spare key, which doesn't work when you press the button, to open the car- in the lock- the car would not start because the immobiliser came on).

I live in the bush, miles from the dealership (which has been less than helpful anyway). Also, have a small child, so driving there and waiting and waiting and waiting, is enough to drive you mental lol. Plus I have health problems that increase in hot weather. I suppose if it's an electronic thing I may have to go there.... *sigh*

Appreciate any info you can give me.

Does anyone happen to know if the radio/CD player that came standard in my 2005 Getz is covered under the 5 year warranty? I've had a quick look for all the paperwork that came with the car, but before i turn the house upside down, i thought i'd check here in case somebody knew. The radio and speakers all seem to be fine, but it has real trouble playing CDs (either originals or ripped MP3s) that work fine on other players. A 5 year warranty on a stereo unit is probably pushing it?

i was wondering if anyone can tell me how to get the boot light to work in a hyundai getz? the boot light has been replaced and does work because i have applied power to it but it doesnt come on when the boot is opened? the other lights in the cabin work so its not the fuse thats the issue, but is there a switch that runs along the boot somewhere that turns light on and off when the boot is opened?

i took off the trim on the boot lid and there is a cable that doesnt have anything plugged into it, as if its missing the swiitch?

any help is greatly appreciated!

I believe there is a filter on the windscreen washer motor which I think is blocked on my Getz. My question is: where is the motor and how do I get at it and the filter?

I Have fitted some driving lights to my 2002 Hyundai Getz ... However i am having issues with hooking up the relay, in particular where to connect the wires from pins 85 and 86.

Has anyone done this before? How do i do it?

EDIT: My last post was a bit brief, To clarify the issue i am trying to hook the lights up so that they only come on when the headlights are on high beam. I have connected the relay wire to the high beam, driving lights come on, then go off on low beam (as they should) BUT the driving lights come on with PARKERS or NIL lights at all.(headlights or parkers)l. I have never seen this before, i have wired driving lights to toyotas before and never had this issue.

now i need the radio code and how to enter it.

Hello all,

I spent weeks trying to find information on removing the stereo until I had a brainwave on how I might be able to do it without the correct keys. It turned out to be quite a simple solution.

Is anyone familiar with the backing plates for PCI/AGP slots on the backs of computers? Well, I work in IT and had a box full of flat ones - the perfect thickness to slot down the sides of the stereo.

The thing is, the stereo actually has two tabs on either side, about an inch in from the front, so I needed to use two backing plates on each side of the stereo in order to depress all four of the tabs and then the stereo slid out like a charm.

I'll try and do some sort of ASCII art thing here to show what the tabs look like:



Long story short, all you need is two very thin, flat metal plates which you can insert down the sides of the stereo to flatten both tabs, but the plates need to be almost the height of the stereo in order to do both tabs.

I have just received my new fusion speakers for my getz! I have changed the front 2 doors without any problems... except i only just found out that you cant remove the plastic cover of the speakers without cutting the panel up! I was just starting the rear doors but couldnt get the manual window crank thingy off. Any ideas people? And can you remove the plastic cover of the speakers in the rear doors?
