Sorry guys, while deleting a a rude & irrelevant response from someone, I accidentally cleared the whole topic!.
I think porting /polishing a normally-aspirated Alpha engine really is a waste of money...........a CAI & cat-back exhaust are really the only cost-effective mods. & these might give you another 8/9 b.h.p..
Actually the best mod. for this car is to fit a 2.0 Beta engine from a Tiburon =137 b.h.p.!.

Newbie here, so hello to all!
Recently bought a S-Coupe 1.5 Turbo. Hallelujah! That turbo sounds gorgeous!
We were giving it some stick against a Ford Focus 2ltr tonight and the Scoupe topped at just over 105mph in 5th gear???? Seems ridiculous, especially considering most sites say it should do 127mph. The acceleration of it is really good. Not timed, but about 8sec to 60 I'd say...The Focus didn't do much on acceleration.
Any ideas why the car is not going to it's full potential on top end?Car has just had full service, which included, Leads, Filter, Cambelt, new exhaust, etc etc - Cost quite a lot of money. Only thing that was not changed was the spark plugs, as my local garage can't get them, but he cleaned them and said they've not long been done.
Also, is there a good place on the net to find cheap parts, as parts are hard to come by here in England, they're quite rare. Really need spacers for the rear wheels as they sit in really far.
Hope someone can help me out.
Thanks!

I was in a horrible accident today! My car, and the other guys car (BMW) are both totaled.
I have bruising from my neck to my lower back and am on major pain killers. My girlfriend is still in the hospital! She went unconscious for a while, then woke up. They found in her scans that she had a ruptured spleen and a lot of internal bleeding! She has had surgery and they said she seems to be recovering well. Her mom would not allow me to stay the night with her, because they only allow one person to stay in the room, and it's her! I'll be there again first thing in the morning!
Please keep us, especially my girlfriend, in your prayers!
Thanks guys,
Nick
(((Now also, what to do with all the suspension I just ordered?!?!?!)))

A friend of mine recently told me that if I could get his 91 scoupe running I could have it. He told me that he replaced the fuel pump on it and it hasnt run since. (Sat for 3 years). It doesnt seem to be getting spark..I tried the old screwdriver trick and nothing came of it...I replaced the rotor but the new cap I got was the wrong one so I couldnt tell if that was the problem..i did the screwdriver trick to the wire coming from the coil pack and got no spark..i also replaced the fusible links box because the one that was on it was corroded to all ****...im going to try a new coil pack but im starting to run out of ideas..its getting gas but not spark..any ideas on what else I can try? Can it be the computer? Any help would be appreciated...you can post here or feel free to contact me at mudvayner_2002@hotmail.com. Thanks!

Hello everyone! I have 1994 Scoupe. My water radiator leaks ( I`m not sure if it`s called like that in english) and I need to replace it. I`m having problem with finding it here. Does anyone know, can it be fitted from Accent or some other Hyundai ( without any changes on car)?

my old reliable,
I loved my car so much, you can see it in the way i make it shine. no other scoupe here in cebuphil is that smooth and shimmering.

was running 120km/h by the time i hit the neck of the curve overtaking inside from outside then suddenly trying to avoid a stupid driver ahead...
next thing i know was flying in the air sideways before hitting a full stop

my prayers with you ZeroPunk
know what your going thru
we were in the hospital for more than two weeks
I broke my right elbow into pieces my upper arm in half, and ended up with
2 titanium alloys in my whole arm.
my wife had an open fracture on her left heel.
i flew off halfway through the windsheild but my arm was what kept me from falling off the pavement, it was held off by the dashboard that is why it ended up with two broken bones in different places
now we can't recover financially, our hospital bill soared to half a mil

Hi,
First time posting in this 'ere forum and hope that I don't break any rules if I do anything wrong...
First off, my boot release button does not work, fuse is OK so wonder what else to check before megging down the line, any ideas?
Secondly, the bloke who owned the car before me, installed a super duper stereo but in doing so broke the dashboard side retainers on the facia where the stereo goes, any ideas on how to effect a discreet repair or somewhere I can screw into or should I make a pair of brackets and screw onto those?
Lastly... central locking, mine doesn't have it or does it? Finding it unusual for a modern day car with leccy windows and PAS not to have central locking and the ubiquitous sunroof either, it is the SE and someone I am in contact with thru eBay said his one had central locking on and also his car had A/C hence no sunroof so looking for some guidance there on model specs if poss.
If it is the case there is no central locking, anyone got any experience of fitting remote aftermarket systems? The one I have my eye on has also a widget for doing the boot hence the questions about the boot release and wondered how easy/hard this is going to be or just not bother if its too difficult.
Addendum:
That light built into the boot spoiler, the prev owner says its a reflector only, is this true or has he told me porky pies ^^?
Cheers
Ian

1. Lowering Springs (PI)
2. Struts (Monroe GasMatic)
3. Shocks (KYB Gas-A-Just)
4. Swaybar (don't know the brand...custom?)
What is the stock size of our scoupe swaybars?
All should be in by next weekend! Anyone want to give any tips on the easiest way to change these? I've never seen anyone change a swaybar before, but it doesn't seem to hard.
Also, this next week I'm buying rear wheel spacers ( 1" ).
Anyone know if I'll need a camber kit after all of this?
I'll post pics of the goods when I get them in! I'll also post pics as I change them. I'm going to lower the front first and see if it looks kool with a lower front end than back end...like a little drag car. hehe!
Later on,
Nick
Edit: Actually, I don't know what the springs are...they are purple...intrax? I think PI is red? The number on them is #36-007 which is PI's part number...

Im looking for scoupe turbo pistons im in africa so a few brands are unavalible to me. we Get AE and KS pistons but cant find a part number or Caterlogue.
What Do you Guys Recommend?
and what is the standerd Scoupe Turbo piston made from?
Here are the Pistons they were 20 pounds each with GRANT USA rings

cos these TOTO Piston have this info.
QUOTE
Low per-mile cost makes KTT & TOTO Piston the most economical pistons available. They are designed, engineered and manufactured to give hundreds of thousands of miles of satisfactory performance.
They are made from the finest aluminum alloy available. This alloy has a silicon base, giving lower coefficiency of expansion than other alloys used in pistons.
The KTT & TOTO Alpos-Tin-Plated Pistons also feature a surface treatment which assures a smoother running engine, better lubricated cylinder walls and freedom from cold-start scuffing.
KTT & TOTO Pistons are designed with a rugged internal construction - a sturdy piston which will give exceptional service.
WIll these be the same Strenght/stronger than the Original Factory Piston's?

Just wondering what you guys thought about this...
I didn't take a lot of time to get details good, but this is a short bit I did with photoshop to my scoupe.

lowered, rims, tinting, color
And I realize the tinting is not right on any of the windows...
Would the color be a good idea? Also, I have always wanted these rims (Konig Thoery) on a little sports car. Let know know guys!

Hi all,
right now I am have a bit of a problem to start the car and it does not always give the same problem.
Sometimes it seems as if it is going to start but then I hear a relay from under the dashboard flickering. I have to keep the throttle open (keep it revved over 2000 rpm) in order to compensate. I have to keep it revved up for a few seconds otherwise the relay flickers again and shuts the engine again.
Other times when the key is turned on the ignition position (the car is not started yet) the rev counter needle Hoovers around the 1000 rpm mark. What does this mean?
As time goes by the problem seems to worsened? Has anyone else had a similar problem? what did you do to get things back to normal?

Hi all,
I was wondering, are there any back seats that will swap with the scoupes? Also, would putting in some tiburon front seats be a good idea?
My passenger seat is messed up and won't sit up all the way making it very uncomfortable for others (namely my girlfriend). There are very few salvage yards anywhere near here that have scoupes, and I haven't found one yet with my same seats... I will keep looking though.
-Next-
On the instrument cluster there is a clear plastic cover that protects the gauges. I am wanting to paint the black plastic around the gauges. The problem is, I can't get the clear cover off. I tried and made a small crack, so I stopped then to keep from cracking the front of it. Help please if you know how to remove it!
If you can help, that would be kool, if not, that's kool too...
Thanks guys,
Nick

What is a good radiator to swap in for our scoupes? Preferably one I will be able to continue using (due to size) after a beta swap. Is there one from another vehicle I could grab from a scrapyard that would fit nicely?
Also, are the half-sized radiators, like in some accents, actually good? <--- that's just a random question for an idea I had
Thanks,
Nick

I have recently purchased a 1993 scoupe turbo. It seems to perform quite well but... goes through gas like its a 60's muscle car. Don't even get 200 km's to 20 liters of fuel. I know from my previous 92 n/a scoupe that this is probably not normal. I obviously don't own my own Hi-scan and really don't want to pay the dealer to misdiagnose the issue. Attempted to ground the diag connector to flash the engine light to see if there were any codes, but I am not getting anything. Double checked that I am on the right pin, still nothing. I am under the assumption that the bulb for the engine light is burnt or has been removed for probably the reason I am after(maybe the guy got sick of looking at the light...) My question is : does the "check engine light" on these cars come on when you turn the key to the "on" position for a bulb check? If so it looks like I am in for pulling the cluster to see what is going on.

I'm having a lot of trouble with my 94 S Coupe. A lot of the time when I accelerate, the car goes "de-de-de-de-de-de" and i lose power. This happens under moderate acceleration, but not light or heavy.
The car is a 1.5 non turbo and has a manual 5-speed manual transmission.
I have replaced the sparks, leads, dizzy cap, rotor button, air filter, oil & filter, but to no avail.
Can someone please help me? I wish I could get rid of the damned thing, but it owes me too much.

I know the beta pushes out more HP than the scoupe turbo does, but which one is actually faster in acceleration? I'm sure the answer is probably the beta engine, but would the turbo not help enough with the acceleration to allow it to at least hang with a beta scoupe?
I was just curious on the topic of which one is better
stock. Thought some open discussion would be good too.

The stuttering still happens from time to time. I have replaced the fuel filter and the ECT (coolant temp sensor). I no longer get any errors (no check engine light).
Yesterday, when driving around, I pushed my brakes and my car freaked out! My RPM's dropped, almost stalling my car, and most of my gauge lights came on. I talked to a couple guys at the local AutoZone, they said that it is probably the alternator. They used their machine to test it. It is charging low they said and the battery quickly lost power once engine was shut off. What is the normal charging standard. Mine was 12.3, they said anything lower than 13.5 wasn't good.
Anyone care to share?

I have a 93' S-Coupe Turbo. 2 days ago i pulled into a carpark with the engine missing and jumping at i feathered the throttle.
The next day i removed my plugs to find all 4 had the ceramics broken (they were very hard to remove) so i just thought EASY!!! they are arcing. I replaced these with new plugs and started the car, only to find the problem more apparent. i removed the plugs again for a 2nd fitting to find the 3rd plug clean (with fuel smell) Vs the other 3 plugs sooted up from ignition.
The HT leads are fine as all have been checked with friends leads. i imaging the problem coming from either the dizzy cap that tooks OK or the Rotor arm also looking fine, i plan to fit new cap and arm soon, any other suggestions.
Many thanks

I need help with replacing it. I don't know where it is, and I'm hoping someone will help me quickly. I thought it would be on the radiator somewhere, but I'm not having much luck finding it.
Is this it by any chance? The connector on it looked the same as the temp sensor I got at advanced auto. ($12)

I'm sure this
guess is probably wrong, so please describe to me where it is if you can.
Thanks!
