Can anyone shed some light on my odd little car?
I have been driving an excel 93 hatch for about 3 years now, and it is a great machine.
Lately, however, the horn has been making little honks all by itself, which is starting to become a bit of a problem. (people keep thinking I'm some sort of aggressive driver!)
It seems to happen when I start the car up,...

My 1996 Excel GLS has a cracked dashboard. It seems that many Excels one sees in car parks, etc have the same problem..some more so than others.
Anyone know of a fix or have the same problem?

Hi,
Could someone help with how to remove the window winder handle?
I have tried to find if it is held in with a circlip but can't see one. There is no removable
centre to the handle so it can't be held on by a screw.
I tried to use the Hmaservice site but no luck.

Ok.... the A/C in my excell stopped working.
When you press the little button on the center dashboard the green light does not come on and nothing happens. I have checked the Relays & fuses and they are ok. If you manually engage the relay (bridge the contacts ) in the fuse box under the bonnet it works, so I know the motor & pump is OK. Also this should mean that the relay is OK too...

I recently purchased a 1990 Hyundai Excel. I just moved to CA from out of state and although I knew I had to get a valid smog certificate with the vehicle, I didn’t realize that a smog certificate was only valid for 90 days. Apparently, neither did the seller, because he gave me one that he thought was good until September 2007 (it was issued in Sept. of 2006), which is when the vehicle’s...

Hello All. I purchased the above vehicle for my daughter and we decided to take it on a long trip (1000 kms). About halfway through the trip during hard acceleration, the car lost power until I backed my foot off the gas pedal and then it coasted alright. If I attempted to push the gas pedal down again, it would die until I eased off. At the halfway point of the journey I replaced the fuel filter,...

I have all of the rear suspension components (drum, shock, brake lines, etc) removed but I can't seperate the two arms because of the rear stabilizer bar is rusted in the bracket.
What is the easy way to remove the left and right arms, is it because of the stabilizer bar or something else I don't see?
Any thoughts.

Just installed a turbo in my 1992 excel and was wondering if anyone knew of a way to eliminate the Air Flow meter, What would the wiring be like. Or should i keep it installed, or is there a differnet Flow Meter that would work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Will post pic's soon. It's one of a kind, and has a wide body kit installed.
Thanx in advance

I own a 1992 Hyundai Excel w/ 89.6 cubic inch, 1.5 ltr engine. It has a manual hydraulic 4 speed transmission which has went bad. I have looked at salvage yards for this part and the nearest one is 200 miles away. I have found a 5 speed manual transmission much closer to home. Would a 5 speed transmission work on a car that was previously a 4 speed. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi:
I have a 1994 Excel. About two years ago we had the MAF Sensor replaced. I was wondering if anybody would know how exactly to clean it. I've seen cleaner in the auto stores, but was hesitant to just remove the connecting hose form the air filter and spray away! Is there a certain order on how to do this, and, would anybody reccomend it.
Thanks, Arnie

Does anybody know if there is a fuse for the dash lights?
I have checked what I believe are all the fuses inside and out but cant find any faulty ones.
Is the access to the back of the dash where the globes are located easy to get to?
I have had 3 night time speeding fines as a result of no dash light :-(
