I hope we have a lot of mac users on here.... unless everyone still operates *shudders* PCs
Anyways, the new magic mouse is amazing! Toronto Eaton Centre just put them out today... overall, i find it much smoother than the mighty. The multi-touch aspect is a great feature, I just wish it had incorporated gestures similar to the macbook trackpads. But overall definitely recommend it.

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if Hyundai uses color pictures in there "regular" service bulletins. I have seen that they do use them in campaigns, but I cannot find any "regular" service bulletins online. Just curious.
If you have any non-campaign service bulletins with pictures in a .PDF format please attach to this thread.
Thanks

Let me start off by saying I LOVED the first Transformers. I am a fanboy so I'm not siding with the stiffs in the critic world, but after months of build up and trolling tf2005.com and countless teasers and trailers it was time to finally watch the second installment of what we geeks affectionately like to call Bay-Formers.
The question everybody inevitably asks first is: "Did you like it?" The simple answer is YES, I liked the movie BUT and this is a very complicated but, I didn't like it one bit as a sequel to the first one. Yes fanboys you heard right not one iota! So before you get your angry typing hands at the ready let me explain.
First the good;
It's "Giant F@%$ing Robots!" The CGI without a doubt was nothing short of incredible and that's where the "good" ended for me.
Now for the bad;
Starting with the story, on par with the subject matter? Yes. On par with Transformers lore? Not so much. Don't get me wrong, I'm over Optimus having lips! I never really cared about those minor details, I do however have a huge problem with a iconic character like Soundwave spending the entire movie latched onto a satelite like a giant space teet! Why oh why? To add insult to injury he's voiced by "Claw" from Inspector Gadget!? It doesn't stop there, the first movie had a lot of emotion with some comedy sprinkled in, this movie was the exact opposite, besides the cliche (SPOILERS AHEAD) Death of Optimus which we all new was coming and the scenes between Sam and his parents there wasn't a whole lot there. But seriously folks, Sam going to Autobot heaven!? <---- Okay not exactly but you get my point.
Speaking of characters returning and new......why introduce "new and exciting" characters just to kill them off within minutes of intorduction? Or barely see them on screen? So much time spent on obnoxious characters like the Twins but not of Arcee or Ironhide or even Ratchet. Where was Barricade? I mean it goes on. I'm convinced there more footage lying in Bay's garage because it's atrocious the way character devolopment went down in this movie.
I couldn't take Megan Fox seriously I really tried, but I kept thinking she just stepped out of a botox clinic with every passing close-up. I wanted to slap Bay for the Twins, seriously, the people are right they're ridiculously offensive, I'd be lying if I said they didn't make me laugh but that doesn't mean I agree with the characters, I'm just juvenile that way, I laughed my **** off with "Under the Alien's scrotum", but I digress lol I'm just saying I was watching the birth of lets say it together; "Jar Jar Binks X2 of the Transformers world." nuff said yo. <----- They were that bad.

I really believe that this was rushed into production to capitalize on the first film, there is obvious signs throughout the movie that is vintage Bay rush job, example; he used the exact same scene from the first film when the Decepticons were entering the Earth's atmosphere, trust me, it's identical except the angle, also when Starscream fires his misstles at the Twins and Bumblebee etcetera in the desert scenes Bay used the same scene twice. He did this with Armageddon also which irritates me because it's lazy film making, the first movie and correct me if I'm wrong had not one repeated scene.
Even the soundtrack let me down. I listened to it by itself before watching the movie and I liked it a lot, but when used in the movie it's really lacking, with the exception of a few scenes like the forest battle I never got those goosebumps down my back like when watching the first movie. When Optimus enters the battle in the City in the frist movie and Transforms in motion while Megatron is ripping Jazz in half GOOSEBUMPS! Arrival to earth by the Autobots EPIC GOOSEBUMPS! But in ROTF I only had one semi goosebump moment and that's dissapointing.
Like I mentioned before way too much comedy. The parents were so **** funny that when It came time for their characters to have a serious moment it wasn't believable. There was tonnes of build-up to the Prime/Fallen battle which ended leaving you empty a little when it was over. Prime should have stayed dead until TF3, they could have had Rodimus become a Prime (Yes I know he's not even in the movie but he should have been), and have Optimus make a triumphant return in the 3rd. Too much story or lack there of crammed into 2 hours + which seemed way longer and unfortunately, not in a good way.
As a wonderful effects driven piece of eye candy it doesn't dissapoint. But as a sequel to the most wished for screen adaptation since LOTR it falls extremely short. Just as the scenes with Sector 7 made us roll our eyes and cringe in the first movie, Transformers 2 AS A FANBOY left a bad taste in my mouth. So, as mentioned earlier in this review, I did like TF2 but I also hated it so to that I say; Watch it, enjoy it for what it is, not what it's suppose to be. To the fanboys, let's hope they change gears for the 3rd movie beccause I don't see LOTR when I think Transformers now, I see Star Wars: Episodes 1 -3! Need I say more?

I really prefer to drive older cars, always have, never have and probably never will buy a new one. Cash for clunkers really **** me off because of the requirement to crush all the cars turned in. That's millions of parts people who drive older cars could use to keep theirs running, but then I think that is there plan. If they can't make us upgrade, they will render ours obsolete. Now today I was reading on my favorite auto site how the government is requiring a lot more new
standard "safety" features. I really don't think they will be happy until the can actually control out cars themselves from a remote location. Sorry, my rant for the day.

Topics like these have taken off on other forums so I figured I would post one here and get a consensus on what everybody's musical tastes are like.
Personally, I listen to almost everything but prefer music from the '70s and '80s, mostly '80s music as I was born in '86 and hence, am too young to remember any of the hit songs from that era. Listening to them makes me feel like I'm connecting with the decade I'm from but don't remember. Example, I'm listening to Richard Marx's 1988 hit 'Endless Summer Nights' right now which is your stereotypical 1980s love song.
As for radio, my presets for the Santa Fe at home include country, classic rock, alternative, rap, contemporary, pop, and hard rock. My CD and iTunes collection is packed with less-than-mainstream older songs along with many hits.
So tell us...what do you listen to?

Hello
I am looking at a set of 15x10 rims for my 32x15x11.5 bfg's.
The bfg's are on the stock 15x8's now. Any problem with going to the wider wheels? I'd like the wider wheels because I am going to go to 33's or 35's in the future and don't want to have to buy another set of rims.
Please help..

Just wanna make sure everyone's aware... There is a sidewalk sale at HF today. Some items have the lowest price I have ever seen. There is also a 20% off coupon (on a single item) that will stack with the sale prices.
Here's a link to the post on
Slickdeals.
I just got a service cart with 5 draws (ballbearing slides) for 75 after tax and coupon! This thing normally goes for 150 on sale at HF.
3000 lb. aluminum racing jack for 51 after tax and coupon! Very good reviews from people who have this. Basically very functional (as long as you don't exceed the 3000 lbs) and you will NOT find anything at this price anywhere else.
Happy shopping at HF!

Well guys, I probably won't be driving for the rest of this month and possibly another 3...depending on what the judge says on August 5.
As many of you in the 3G Accent Forum know, I go to school 65 miles away from my house. To get there, I take I-90 East. For the past couple of years, there has been a lot of road construction on I-90 in the Rockford area because they have this crazy expensive project of putting in a new ramp and adding a 3rd lane for 11 miles, into Wisconsin. The project is scheduled to be completed by Fall 2009, which I know is not possible by the looks of things.
For 3 years I have been taking this route to get to school. In those 3 years, I've wrecked my car, replaced the damages, had a semi tire blow up next to me and destroy my brand new bumper...and he didn't stop, and many more things, but I have NEVER in my life been pulled over for anything....until 9:30 yesterday morning.
I had just gotten onto the interstate and was on it a good 2 miles. The construction zone starts at the state border, I believe and ends just before Belvidere, IL. From where I enter the interstate, I'm in construction zones for about 14 miles. The speed limit is 45mph. It's marked everywhere! Does anyone obey those signs? Certainly not. Do I obey those signs? Heck no! I follow the flow of traffic, but not anymore. Everyone around me at the time was doing between 75-80mph. I know, crazy fast for a construction zone. Then everyone scattered like cockroaches when you switch the lights on. I didn't understand what was happening until I saw the state police officer on a motorcycle just ahead.
I knew I was screwed. There is no shoulder to pull off on, it's concrete wall, lane, lane, guard rail. So I had to drive another mile or so to get to the nearest ramp where I pulled to the side. This officer was a real piece of work. He says he clocked me at 77mph, told me my insurance was expired, which it's not! The card says it expires today, July 3, 2009. I had to wave him down to explain that to him. I said,"Sir, my insurance doesn't expire until the 3rd." He said,"I know, which is today!" I then replied,"Today is the 2nd sir!" He just stared at me. I've never said "sir" so many times in my life.
All is said and done, he gave me a speeding ticket for $105, my court date is scheduled for August 5th, which the judge will decide whether or not to slap me with the $375 fine for speeding in said construction zone, PLUS additional court fees. My stepdad is a truck driver, he told another state trooper about my situation and said I was lucky. He could have got me for reckless driving, reckless endangerment, towed my car and thrown me in jail!
In the afternoon, my mom found out that 300 people had to attend court July 1st for speeding in the same zone I got pulled over in. 300!!! They needed 2 judges to get everyone in. Just about everyone was slapped with fines. They are really crackin' down in this particular zone. They've put up cameras, have aerial survailance, cameras in trucks and vans....it's horrible. I could face up to $2000 and 3 month suspended license, but since this is my first offense they may go easy, or they could be pr*cks...who knows. Needless to say, I was late for class this morning.
Drive carefully ya'll.
-Dawn

You know how you have to wait hours for a tow truck?
Well my brother came in from Allentown last night and went to a party. He calls me at 11:45 saying he has a flat tire. I told him to call roadside assistance and he called my dad too. My brother knows nothing about cars, so he couldn't change it. My dad and I wound up going but it was pouring out so we didn't bothering changing it. He was also in a bad neighborhood. Roadside told him 35 minutes and they got there in 30 minutes, not only that but 3 tow trucks showed up! They had it changed in 5 minutes.
My suspicions were correct, he hit a pothole and bent the rim. Hyundai roadside assitance is excellent!

Waves, caused by the blowing of wind over ocean surface, carry immense power. The power of the waves can help in generation of electricity for nearly 10% of the world’s demand.
Ocean wave power can be tapped using point absorbers, which resemble offshore buoys that measure environmental data except they are larger. Their popularity is due to their ability to absorb energy from oncoming waves in all directions.
The Ocean energy is created by taking advantage of the vast temperature difference. The temperature on the surface of the ocean water is different from the temperature of the water lying below it. It is hard to believe that in some areas, especially tropical, the surface water can be more than 40 degrees warmer than the deep water.
The ocean possesses mechanical energy from its tides, waves and thermal energy from the sun’s heat. The energy present in the ocean is so large that if tapped, only 0.2% of it will be sufficient to charge up the whole world’s demand.

I got this email from a friend today and thought it was some good advice if its true!
*HELPFUL TIPS FROM A GUY FROM THE FUEL RETAILING BUSINESS for the "4G Sonata*
"I don't know what you guys are paying for petrol.... but here in Durban we
are also paying higher, up to R7.35 per litre. But my line of work is in
petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are some tricks to get more
of your money's worth for every litre.
Here at the Marian Hill Pipeline where I work in Durban South Africa, we deliver about 4
million litres in a 24-hour period thru the pipeline.
One day is diesel the next day is jet fuel, and petrol, LRP and Unleaded. We
have 34-storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,000 litres.
Only buy or fill up your car or bakkie in the early morning when the ground
temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have their
storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground the
more dense the fuel, when it gets warmer petrol expands, so buying in the
afternoon or in the evening.... your litre is not exactly a litre. In the
petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the petrol,
diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important
role. A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But
the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.
When you're filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast
mode. If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low,
middle, and high. In slow mode you should be pumping on low speed, thereby
minimizing the vapours that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at
the pump have a vapour return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of
the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapour. Those vapours are being
sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less
worth for your money.
One of the most important tips is to fill up when your tank is HALF FULL.
The reason for this is, the more fuel you have in your tank the less air
occupying its empty space. petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine.
Petroleum storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as
zero clearance between the petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the
evaporation.
Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is
temperature compensated so that every litre is actually the exact amount.
Another reminder, if there is a fuel truck pumping into the storage tanks
when you stop to buy, DO NOT fill up--most likely the petrol/diesel is being
stirred up as the fuel is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the
dirt that normally settles on the bottom.
Hope this will help you get the most value for your money."

So I walked out of my girlfriend's apartment today and I heard the smoke detector going off in the apartment across the street. There was a small amount of smoke coming out of the kitchen window, so I ran over and asked if the lady needed help and she was just screaming hysterically, and said that her baby was in the back. Her kitchen was completely engulfed in flames and the entire apartment was clouded in thick smoke (to the point of virtually zero visibility).
I ran through the engulfed kitchen, grabbed her baby from the back of her apartment and ran back through the kitchen, got all of her neighbors out of the house, and called 911 while doing so. It was crazy.
ANYWAY, here are the pics of my Accent in the midst of the action!! lol

I just got off the phone with McGard the automotive wheel lock nut company, what a crappy company !. I bought a set of exact fit McGard locks for my Accent back in Sept. of 08 and I have just noticed that they are beginning to rust,so I call them and they told me that i must send them all back to them with proof of purchase at my cost so they can determine if they are going to replace them or not.I have not removed them since I put them on the car nor have I taken any of the tires off the car.I don't see why i should have to pay to send them back without reimbursement of the shipping cost, It's not as if I didn't pay a good bit of money to buy them in the first place. At this rate I should have just bought the cheep ones from Walmart as I did in the past, I still have them and after 6yrs all year round use they are still in new condition with no sign of rusting and they where half the cost of the McGard ones. Never again will I buy their product !!!!

Most of you probably don't know me, but I have been a member on here for a while. I mostly stay in the 4g Sonata section since that is what I have. Anyway, I joined this website sometime after I got out of the Army. I was soon recalled into the Army and sent into Afghanistan, where I kept a journal of events that occured.
I have been considering writing a book about my deployment in Afghanistan. I have a few excerpts from personal blogs and stories from other people in my unit. I'm not sure if I want to finish it, because I'm not sure anyone will read it. Also, I try to use unconventional formats to grab the readers attention. Here is a sample, what do you guys think.
QUOTE
I kept thinking to myself “Just keep going, don’t stop or you’ll die. It’s pain or death.” My feet were now moving at an unthinkable speed down the narrow street. I knew if I stopped the Insurgents would get me and do God knows what. So I just kept running, ignoring the burning in my legs and lungs. With the weight of my Body Armor and pack on my back and my weapons in my arms, my body started to physically surrender to exhaustion. I saw what looked like an abandoned alley with a gate. The gate was about 5-6 feet tall, I could barely see over the top, but enough to see that there was no one standing on the other side of the gate. I charged towards the gate. I dropped my shoulder and threw my body into it. The doors flew open and bounced off the alley walls as I tumbled onto the ground. Sloppy from exhaustion, I turned around and try to secure the doors. After I got the doors closed again, I spun around with the weapon at the high ready. I cleared the ground level first, and then traced the roof line on both sides. I now could assess my position. I have trapped myself into a dead-end alley with buildings on 3 sides. I bunkered behind a stack of card board boxes laying on one side to at least conceal myself visually. The Sun seemed to hang directly over me, the heat beating down on my heavily layered body. I knew at this point I had to collect myself. I pulled down my mask and got a drink of water. I tried to stop my mind from rolling through the events that just occurred. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t.
I just couldn’t make sense of what happened. Once second, we are on a routine foot patrol. The next thing I know, I am picking myself off the ground, my head ringing and a thick layer of fog-like dust filled the air. I look around to find, I can’t find the other 4 members of my squad. It was like I was tossed into another street. I didn’t recognize where I was. The next thing I knew was I saw a group of men running towards me, firing their AK-47s in the air and towards me. I duck down a side street and then another and then another turning left and right down every 2 or 3 streets in attempts to lose the group of Insurgents chasing me until I found this alley. I snap back to reality with only questions left in my mind; “How the h*ll did this happen? This is supposed to be a friendly town. Where the H*ll was the Intel on this?” As I begin to catch my breath, I started to hear firing and screaming. I hear the pounding of feet coming down the street. I try to hide myself further behind the stack of boxes and place my rifle between two of the boxes and get ready. I say a quick prayer “God, if this is it, make it quick.” But suddenly, as the feet get closer, I hear familiar voices, speaking America. I shove the boxes and start to move towards the doors but then I hear another group of footsteps running down the street and the other familiar cries of Taliban gibberish. I duck for a second and hear them run by and I wait for a brief second and I pop my head over and see that they are running away from. I pull the top frag grenade out of its pouch and pull both safety pins. I released the handle, allowing it to cook-off only briefly. I pushed the door open with my shoulder and rolled the frag down the street. Then I yelled “HEY A*SHOLE.” I dove back into the alley. I heard them screaming, probably announcing the coming of a grenade and then heard the grenade detonate: THUMD. I pulled my side arm out and came back around the corner. Most of the men were still moving. I approached them slowly. The ones that had weapons and still moving, I fired a few rounds into to eliminate a possible threat. Another unarmed man started to crawl towards an AK laying next to a man not moving. I warned him “DON’T TOUCH IT!!!!” As soon as his hand touched it, I fired a round into him. I got closer to the group. One of the men seemed to look inflated; an indication that he was wearing a suicide vest, but being that they were in a group, it was a high probability that he was just fat. He was gargling for air, but I wasn’t taking any chances. I fired into him at close range. I heard shuffling and talking in English coming towards me. From around the corner, someone yelled “RIVER!!!” I responded “BLOOD!!!” They came around the corner with weapons in the high-ready and observed the scene. About a dozen men, 8 assumed killed about 3-4 mortally wounded but still alive. The marksmen said “F*ck, Sergeant, you do all this?” I simply replied “Man up, lets get a count and get back onto the Main Road.”

Just thought that you would like to see the first Cicada that we have seen this year.
It lived for years under the ground, emerged to hatch and enjoy a few days hunting for love and chose a wheel of our our i10 to change from a crawler into a flier.

Ok, here's something I've been thinking about lately. Tensions on the Korean peninsula have really ramped up since the North launched a long range missile, detonated a second nuclear device, and renounced the 1950's armistice with the South. In other words, Kim Jong Il is having a temper tantrum like a little spoiled brat looking for attention. I'm pretty sure cooler heads will prevail, but, there is always the possibility of a military conflict.
I'd be worried about the state of Hyundai if a conflict starts. Would production stop? What if the factories at Ulsan and Pusan were bombed?
Food for thought...
