Hoping someone can help.
I have an S reg Hyundai coupe F2 2ltr.
I have just started experiencing problems with it. I have only owned it for about 3mths.
Sometimes, when i start the engine it will start fine but as soon as it has started the revs drop & so it cuts out. It so far does this about 3 - 5 time & then it will start OK and I can drive away fine.
Does anyone know what this might be? I would rather get this seen to before it carry's on and ends up being something serious and an expensive job.
Thanks
Sarah

Hi everyone
Yes the World Cup is over for Sweden, The USA, England, Brazil and Germany(plus lots of others) but Hyundai carry on till the end with their sponsership-
If they put as much energy into their relationships with their customers as they do with Sport maybe Hyundai could be the best in the World.
At least now perhaps folk will start looking at their computers again and start making conversation on the Hyundai sites.

Itza

HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP CLOSURES IN Southern California!
Does anybody here now anything about this? My fiancee owns a 2003(?) Elantra. She used to bring her car to Power Hyundai in Torrance and even though there service was well below satisfactory it was the closest dealership by a significant distance.
Over a month ago she was told she needed a new Catyltic Converter, when she called last week to see if the part was ordered she was told,
Power Hyundai, "We didn't order the part, we're closing down and so is Hyundai's Culver City location."
Given the recent corruption scandals and the closure of two facilities in the Nation's largest car market makes me very skeptical of Hyundai as a company and subsequently its vehicles.
All feedback is greatly apprecaited!

My car was prepped this morning so that if Portugal won today's game a couple of friends and I would go celebrating and kind of honk fest. Turns out Portugal won

Toronto's streets were filled with flags and portuguese people, and a few major streets were closed by cops... lol ...

I also got two "Hyundai supports FIFA" flags from a nearby dealer that had them made since Hyundai is a major sponsor of FIFA.
Anyone else routing for a team in the FIFA cup?

I did fought with Hyunday Canada about missing wiring for my Fog Light and here are there answers (translate from french) for not paying for that installation.
Primary this is production fault (I am working in Manufacturing for 12 years)
Reply:
Production date of your Tucson was not suitable for the Fog Light Kit ??
As an Option (Fog Light) I got to pay even for missing wiring !??
The dealer should not sell me the Kit !!?? (dealer fault now!).
my last reply:
That is ridiculous! I spent 28000.00$ for that vehicule and this is what I deserve!?
I want letting know every one here in Canada what they will be facing if they got to fall into Hyundai Canada Customer Service ! They should just close that service
and make another cost reduction!!??
Sad Owner!

nav4all is a mobile navigation software. With off-board navigation you will only need to install a small program on your mobile. Maps are downloaded from a server on the internet via a mobile network, by gprs or umts. You only need to add a GPS receiver, which is connected to your mobile by Bluetooth.

My 2002 Elantra is still under warranty (4 yrs, 50,000 miles). The remote entry keyfob died. My dealer sez too bad, the keyfob is only warranted for 36,000 miles, like the radio. But the owner's manual says nothing specific about the keyfob, and doesn't mention it in the exclusions lists or in the radio/electronucs section. Shouldn't it be covered for the full bumper-to-bumper 5/60?

I change my own oil and check it every month and its always right at the "full" mark. Before I left on a trip, I checked and it was 1/4-1/2" above the full mark. No one has access to my vehicle other than the dealer which I went to twice in the last month for things other than an oil change. I assume they checked the oil as a courtesy, while the engine was hot, added oil, and thus the overfill. I've since removed 3/8 quart and its back at full. Any mechanics out there who can tell me if roughly a 1/2 quart overfill on the 2.0L would likely cause any damage?
Thanks

Hi all
Has anyone else tried the waterless car wash yet? I have and I must say that I liked the final result.
Great product and worth a try especially now that the UK water companies are imposing Hose bans and shutting down Car Wash centre's.
The Great thing was that I only had to go over the car twice, Once for the application to be put on and then Once again to buff it up.
Cost me just under £20 inc post but it will do the car 6 or 7 times.
The cleaning towel sure looked grimey though and I have to put thatin with the weekly wash!
Go to
http://www.go-waterless.co.uk/?carcare_01 in the UK . In USA you can get it too.

Itza

To make a long story short, I'm at my wits end with my local dealerships service department and am attempting to find out who exactly to write to in the United States regarding poor service. I have the general address for consumer affairs, but can anyone recommend a contact (w/ address) who will actually help me and not completely ignore my complaint?

I have a Sonata 2000, 2.4, and it has been a very good car.
It only has 66K miles and of course the are some strange noises tha appear now that the first five years are gone.
If any one can help me it would be greatly appreciated.
The driver's side window makes a noise like some thing is scratching it. I got so afraid that if I take it down it may break the window that I have close at all times.
But summer is comming fast and I like to feel the air.
I want to fix it myself. Can any one tell me what could be wrong? Should I take it to the dealer's shop?
Thanks.

Has anyone ever compiled a list of all the driving sims and arcade games that feature Hyundai products?
I know of a few offhand.
The 2003 Hyundai Tiburon was in Automodellista.
The 1999 Hyundai Coupe Rally Car was in Test Drive V-Rally
The 2003 Hyundai Tiburon was in Midnight Street Club Racing
Any others?

I've searched various places, but haven't found an answer to my (sneaky, admittedly) question: If I buy (and get registered) a junker Hyundai a couple weeks before buying my upcoming Sonata, do I get the Valued Owner Coupon discount? At $1000, I'd be willing to consider it if they'd let me...

I was wondering if anyone else has had a somewhat unpleasant experience with their dealer. I bought a Sonata three weeks ago, got a great deal and had a very nice salesman. The problems I've had with the service department however have made me rethink buying another Hyundai. I picked up the car late in the day, after dark, so I wasn't able to do a close inspection in the dark garage. I was told to be at the dealer by 3PM the day after the purchase to pick it up. I had to wait until 6PM to see the "finance manager" which meant I couldnt see the car in the daylight. So it wasnt until the next day that I noticed the following, most of which was not resolved after my fist visit to the service department:
1. The driver's side door handle does not retract properly so sometimes when I close the door, it doesnt latch, but fling back open. I was told by the service manager that there is factory recall about this, but I need to come back and leave the car there all day. They have to replace the door handle cover, but they need the exact color match. I asked then for a loaner when they have my car all day and was told they don't have any loaners.
2. The brakes pulsate when applying them at 50+ MPH. I was told by another dealer that this can happen because of corrosion building up on the rotors if the car sits in an outdoor lot a long time. My car was built in Korea, so it probably sat outside for a very long time. The mechanic thought it was a wheel balance problem and re-balanced the tires which of course did nothing. When I was picking up the car and he told me he balanced the tires, I said the pulsating happens only when I apply the brakes and he scratched his head and said "oh yeah, the brakes". The problem was not resolved by him.
3. The face of the clock has a couple of big gouges on it, probably from the same razor blade I found on the floor of the car when I picked it up. I test-drove this same car, the previous evening and there was a protective plastic over the clodk from the factory. The manager didnt even bother to look at the scrathes until I picked up the car. Nothing was done about this problem.
4. One of the tire valve caps was missing, they replaced that. This was the only thing complaint that was actually resoved by the dealer. I don't know who took it off because as you can see in the next sentence:
5. The tires were inflated between 36 - 38 PSI when I picked up the car. The instructions on the door say 30PSI. No one bothered to check the tire pressure prior to delivery of the car.
6. It is now day 24 of my temporary registration, I asked the woman who handles these things at the dealership where my permanent license plates are and she said "You have another 6 days, so what's the big hurry" This after they charged me a $50 fee for getting my registration? Sorry, but this is NOT good customer service.
The only contact my dealership has initiated with me so far has been two pre-recorded phone messages from the manager telling me that I have to make sure I give them nothing less than an excellent review on the satisfaction survey and two letters from my salesman saying the same thing. When I actually tried to call the GM to say I'd love to give you positive feedback if..., I was put on hold for 10 minutes at a time and I finally hung up.
I dont usually like to complain, but if I'm going to spend thousands of dollars for a new car, I should get better treatment than I've received so far. I know I didn't buy an Infinity or Mercedes, but customer service should be more than just lip service. I received better customer service after buying a $200 kitchen faucet than my $18,000 new car purchase.

I'm about to start conducting reliability research that will provide much more useful information. Instead of relative ratings, my research will provide "days in the shop" and "times in the shop" stats that can be precisely compared from vehicle to vehicle.
The first round of the research will begin next week. The only Hyundai for which I have a sufficient number in the panel right now is the Tucson, with 24 2005s. I'd like more Tucsons, as well as other Hyundai models.
Only participants in the research will have free access to the information once it is available.
You can read the details and sign up at
www.truedelta.com.
Thanks,
Michael Karesh

Looks like most Hyundai engines have been upgraded with variable valve timming technology, but the 2.7L V-6 has not.
For 2006 the only vehicles available with the 2.7L are
the Tiburon, Tucson, Santa Fe & Trajet.
Why hasn't Hyundai up-graded the valvetrain?
This engine could sure use alittle more torque in the lower RPM range.
Does anyone have the dyno torque chart for this engine?
I'm curious to see the torque output throughout the RPM range.
Peak tourque at 4000 RPM is nice to know but I don't drive at 4000 RPM all the time.

Hi All,
I have the feeling that our Hyundai Dealar is not doing his job as he should. To fix my car for a throtile problem, he keeps it for 5 days !! and I have to pay for hiring another car during that period.
Becuse of the delay on service, most people are avoiding bringing there cars for the check-up service and find another source.
Any suggestion where I can send this comments to managment of Hyundai ?
Best regards.

of any way to get some customer assistance from Hyundai Corporation other than there 800 Number??
Here is the scenario:
I bought a 2006 Hyundai Sonata GLS V6 in October 2005. Love the car but when I bought it the ashtray was not working exactly right. I took it in shortly after buying it and the dealer advised the ashtray needed to be replaced because it was defective. Well four trips later and almost a new year I still do not have a working ashtray.
The Dealer has said that the ashtray assembly was a problem part that has been addressed by Hyundai, however, all the new functioning astrays are being put into the cars coming off the line and whenever yhey get enough they will replace the one's in cars already purchased.
I have had an active file with Hyundai Corporation for about 4 weeks now and all they keep saying is that they are "Researching" the matter. I am getting a bit tired of heraring that, I do not think it is out of line for me to exepct that I should have already had the $20 part!!!
Does anyone have any other means of getting Customer Service from Hyundai other then the 800 number I already have been using.
Thanks

Where do i dispose of my engine coolant and my transmission fluid? To dispose of engine oil properly you must take it to our local dump. Would I go there?

I guess i could just drink it if no one knows. Maybe it would taste good with pizza!
