l know this does not apply to the majority of members so for them please excuse this topic. however it is becoming increasingly common that when someone asks a question and then gets a factual and accurate answer from another member they fail to respond to that reply. can l remind all members that everyone gives up thier time for free on the forums and gives the benefit of thier knowledge to others when required. a simple 'thanks for that' return post would always be polite and welcome and help everone with the 'feel good' factor

What makes a moderator a moderator on this site? Experience, work with product, mechanic, salesman or just someone who spends alot of time on this website?

I'm having issues with attached files. For some reasons I can't see or download the attached files in the Accent 3G Document Library subforum. I see the attached thumbnails in the main Accent 3G forum though.

I'm using firefox 3.6 on Osx 10.4.11. It's really annoying to not be able to see the pics in DIY threads :

How about something like hey guy, I moved your post to forum A, It relates to forum A for this reason, and thats where these types of posts should go. Forum B wich you just posted in only relates to these other types of things.

Just a suggestion. ive only been registered for a few months, and remembered what It was like trying to figure it out and Navigate, Your site is hands down the best hyundai forum, but a huge pain to get around for a noob.

This was posted at an "Android" forum. Too bad not here, it would be a much "nicer" place to visit.

"In the past few weeks it has come to the attention of Rob, Phases, and myself that there has been a huge problem with Senior members "beating up" on "noobs" and other members that they feel are asking "stupid questions" or that they feel aren't using proper grammar. As a result we have been getting A LOT of complaints from these members saying that they came here for answers and all they got was ridiculed or pushed out.

There is no grey area here. We have not appointed "grammar police." Nor have we ever asked any of you to be rude to people who haven't searched first.

We welcome EVERYONE to this forum. We don't care if their grammar isn't perfect. And, albeit a little annoying when someone doesn't, we don't "require" people to search first before they post a question. Replying to a thread by saying "use the search" is just as bad or worse than not searching first. Either reply to a thread with a helpful solution or don't reply at all.

We have entrusted our mods to use their judgement with a "ban now and ask questions later" policy. It has gotten to the point where giving infractions have become moot.

Android Forums prides itself on being the #1 place to come for all things Android and we are not going to let a few intolerant and ignorant people change that. That's it. Plain and simple.

Going forward, if you choose to be rude to people, don't be surprised if you are banned next time you go to log in. We have tried to let the community police themselves for the most part, but it appears that there is some cleaning up to do.

To those of you who are active and helpful parts of the community, and those that are just looking for help, we apologize for even allowing it to get to this point. Trust me when I tell you that we are going to do everything possible to bring Android Forums back to the light-hearted and fun place we've all grown to love. But we do need your help as well. Please continue to report threads or users that you feel aren't being helpful. Or anyone being malicious or rude.

I am trying to upload a mp3 audio file to my post but I am getting a message saying that the file type is not accepted. I went to the "contact us" section and asked them about it and I haven't heard anything back so I decided to go this route.
Has anyone uploaded an mp3 file to their post before? If it can;t be done what are my alternatives? Reason for wanting to upload: Engine noise question.

I was wondering if anyone could help me i would like to change my display name but I cant find the option for it. I want to change it from my full name.

I've been on (still am on) several other forums, and I've found that the "View My Posts" button is very useful if you want to make a quick check of replies to your posts. I like this site a lot and it seems like there's a lot of good, knowledgeable folks on it, but would find this a very useful tool.

(I can search for my posts, but it lists them in order, rather than taking me to the actual thread.)

Can a "View My Posts" button be added?

I am not sure who i talk to about this, but i am trying to upload my avatar and every time i upload the picture i want, it switches to a different picture i had. Sorry if this is hard to understand. I push upload-it uploads the pic i want-i go to my 'about me' page and the avatar picture is completely different! please help!

Signuture length need to be increased from 180 to maybe 200. You can hardle put your garage link into your sig, and have room for a bit of writing.

HELP! I lost my finances and i cant recooperate! So I own an 06 Hyundai Sonata and she's beggining to wear on me. For the moment its just the little things: seals, gaskets, etc but man do they add up! I can't take too much more of these out of pocket expenses and as i'm sure you all know, every penny counts these days.. =\ In an attempt to prevent future problems i've been researching extended warranties. In my journey through the web i came across a site called.... They have no complaints on their BBB report nor anything elsewhere that i can think of.. This is probably a dumb question, but I can't figure out how to do it. There's a heading to show just
new posts, but that shows new posts in all forums. What if I want to look for new posts in just one
forum, such as the 4G Sonata forum. Is there a way to do that? I've tried searching with the same
criteria as the show all new posts (code=getnew) and selecting just the forum I'm interested in, but
that doesn't seem to work.

Any forum gurus out there that can tell me how to do this, if it's possible?

I know this is mentioned here before. I have about 70 posts and all are of me spending a little free time before hitting the sack to help people with their problems. I do this to remind myself everything what i've learned thru the years and so I dont forget. People show up here for first time, dont introduce themselves and right away want to know whats wrong with their car. After some others and I give some really good advice, you never hear from them again. Should I waste my time with them? Maybe all new members should be obligated to post feedback after their first thread or get banned for a predetermined amount of time. I'm just saying cause as much as I go out of my way to help these individuals, I never know if I've helped them or not.

ha ok so here i am bored an i decided to go out an street race some random peeps in my local street scene.
first off was a 2001 Lexus IS200 M/T with intake an catback exhaust, an well too my suprise he was remarkably slow.....from the launch he got off to about half a length ahead but at 1-2 shift i began gaining(i think he doesnt know how to power shift lol) an by the end of 2 going into 3rd i pull ahead a full length an by 80 im clearly wining by 1 1/2-2 lengths. he said he dropped it at about 3500rpm at launch while i was able to full brake/full throttle from 2400. so should i be suprised at the win?....i know stock his car has 215bhp. ok off to my next victim a 2nd gen acura tl 3.2 coupe A/T.....im pretty sure it was a standard 3.2 at 225bhp considering the Type S versions are rated for 260bhp. well short story from launch to 65 it was all me by alot lol..again should i be suprised?
an last which to no suprise a friend with an 2nd gen prelude H22 M/T fitted with intake exhaust an some minor other tweaks...at the launch it was easily quicker but mid way in second it was basicaly an one car race with me in the lead lol...did catch the wrong side of a SS colbalt which proved worth all 220 supercharged ponies were there an easily dispatched me lol.

For the last couple of days, hyundai-forums refuses to remember who I am, or that I've logged in. The cookies don't seem to be working. This is USUALLY a function of some change to the format of the cookie data. I have not yet tried deleting all of my hyundai-forum related cookies and forcing them to be reloaded, although that sometimes works.

So?

1. What's going on with the "New Banner" contest?

2. Can somebody feed the squirrels extra peanuts to speed up the site?

I'm trying to link to pictures from my Picasa Web Album without much luck.

In this Post, I was able to only display one pic and there are supposed to be four. I've looked at the URL of all four pics and they don't seem be be very different other than a few character changes. I also posted a couple of full vehicle pics in the gallery section but they're not displaying either.

Is there something special with Picasa that I have to do? The album is fully shared so I expect that each pic in the album is also shared.

When you google hyundai-forums this site apppears waaaay down the search list! I n fact, it's at the bottom of the page!! The first hit is "hyundaiforums", a totally different site. What's up with that?!?!?!?! I have noticed this change since the upgrade. And the first link that shows up for this site isn't even the main page, it's some "linktous" page that's virtually worhtless!! And if you click the "I'm feeling lucky", it's only lucky for the other site, not this one. I bet a lot of traffic is being sent to hyundaiforums and not hyunai-forums.

Mods, are you gonna fix this problem? It's really annoying. (I know, I know, "bookmark it". At work, I cannot. I just google instead. )

Hey I was just wondering, before on the forums we used to have the big Hyundai "H" on the title just above the Hyundai-Forums and next to the HCD8 concept. I think it looked better and I think we should put it back on. What do you guys think?

When reading a topic in a forum when you get down to the bottom of the page and click the Forum link to return back to that sub forum it just takes you back to the top of topic you were reading.

I'm active in the azera forum and read all the threads. Prior to the upgrade all threads showed up as read because I read them all. Now every post in the whole forum is showing unread for me. Is there anything we can do about this?
