Help, does anyone know how to replace the drive belt for Trajet 2.7? An idiot's guide such as a diagram would be most helpful.

Hello to all,
I want to install a 2din device in my trajet and I am seeking for the front cover like in the photo below...
[attachmentid=2658]
... but in the classic black color. My model has clima airconditioning controls like in the photo above.
[attachmentid=2659]
I would appreciate it if somebody knows the part number or can provide me the cover. Also if someone can provide me with instructions of how to remove the front panel from the dashboard, would be of great help to me.
Thanks,
dmanou

Ok so we did some work on the head of the vehicle ,like change 3 valves, the balancing shaft belt and crankshaft pulley was changed in the process. After the head was mounted ,when the engine cold starts in the am ,there's a noise sounding like a 'tappit noise' and when it reaches the optimum operating temperature it stops(ie the noise).
The mechanic says its the oil that was used ! they used 20w50 and he says to use like syntec or 10w40 or somtin bc the oil needs to get into some kinda bore in the hydraulic lifters upon cold start hence the noise due to the use of 20w50!!
Any ideas if you think that this noise is possible bc i'm using 20w50...i'm thinking of changing to syntec 10w30 to see if it stops!!
Let me know your thoughts on this ppl!!

My Jet ( 2002 2.0 GSi TD) just doesn't like being left unused for more than 12 hours.
Cranks over well, but she won't fire up.
My suspicions are currently focussed on the pre-heat, and in particular the Glow Plugs. I doubt if they could all fail, so I suspect the Glow Plug Relay - but need to find out where in the vehicle it is located - any help out there?
I have the replacement, and will probably track it down this weekend, but any knowledge you have would save me alot of time and hassle I hope.
Gordy.

Hi there people
This is my first time on here and i have been looking for a site like this , since getting my trajet back in January 2006.
My trajet is 2ltr gsi auto on the motability scheme (as iam disabled) i needed a car that i could put my scooter in , and this car is a dream , its quiet B I G and not that bad on fuel as i get about 20 to the gallon round town and 30 on a run .
I have taken the 2 rear seats out and had hoist fitted but that can come out and put the seats back to make it a 7 seater.
So there you are thats a bit about me and my trajet and nice to meet you people

I have just purchased a Trajet 2000 model, here in Portugal.I have to replace the |Air Conditioning Compresor, which is broken.which I am getting the part from from the UK. I would like to know how one replaces the aircon filter for this vehicle. I understand it is behind the glove box. The Air flow from the vents is the pits and I hope by replacing the filter things will improve. Also would like some info on where to get the filter. Thanks all

Hi there,
I wonder if there is someone who can help me with a problem that I have.
Both License plate lights don't work on my trajet. The bulbs are new and works fine, but there is no voltage to them. I have looked for a broken fuse but all fuses I find are working. I guess that all fuses are found either under the hud or under the steering wheel ?? Or are there more places for fuses?
Does anyone have an idea which fuse it can be or if there might be another problem?
Thanks
Fred

Car UK Trajet 2003 CRDI, Alloys (hyundai) bought from new.
Ive got a problem with front wheel balance which seems unsolvable. Putting it bluntly it can be good one minute and then goes again. When balance it is about 25g of weights to balance and this has been done seven times . Nobody seems to solve it. Tried new tyres of different make , new wheels (ally) realigned whole car twice, There is no runout on the tyres or rims when run in the air. Car pulls very slightly to the left. Brakes are all in order. No play in any balljoints. Had new p/steering pump, new upper suspension bearing. The only clue seems to be when turning at slow speeds there appears to be a feeling you can only describe as resistance then ease then resistance and ease as the wheel turns. Its almost as if the wheel is buckled but this is definitely not the case. Anyone technical throw some light on problem? Please please!!!

Hi,
I am a Trajet GL year 2003 owner from malaysia.
I had my radiator crack at the black fibre area. Specifically at the part that looks like it should be attached to something. will attach picture when camera comes back from service. from the looks of it, it cracked at the part that the hook being joint/attached to the black fibre part of the radiator.
the local hyundai service mentions that it seems this is normal wear and tear for the car.
radiator life is aorund 3 years, or around 100K KM.
i think it is just a bunch of BS from them.
radiators don't just crack for no reason.
anyone have any comments/experience?

How does the ECU know that the 2nd cat on the Trajet is doing its stuff if there are no O2 sensors directly infront/behind?
Can a 'catalyst below threshold' message refer to the 2nd cat?

Guys,
I'm hearing something like a swirling noise coming from the engine bay @ 120kph between 3000 and 3500 rpm. When you accelerate the car the noise will subside but when you decelerate coming to corners, you will hear it more as if it is proportional to the speed of the car. Does your car showing the same signs? Mine is a manual tranny.
Also, when I press/depress the gas pedal to 2000 to 3000 rpm @ full stop, I hear a whining sound. Any idea?

Hello,
Could anybody help me.
I normally do not use air conditioning in my Traje due to sensibility to conditionned air.
Last week, I tryed to turn it on to show to a freind and the air was not fresh at all.
So I looked in the owner manual and found that I should check a small black cylinder to verify if there is no bublles in a small window.
I was not able to find this cylinder.
Could anybody have a picture or a copy of the technical manual to show me were is the cylinder.
Thanks.
Best regards.

My 'new' 2001 Trajet has the factory fit roofbars. There is a lot of 'corrosion' where the paint has lifted leaving the oxidised aluminium(?) exposed.
Anybody dealt with this and advise any techniques, preparation, primers, paints?
Any help appreciated

Greetings,
I have a 01 2.0 CRDi Trajet with 80k on the clock, recently out of the blue i have noticed problems with my gearbox.
I have heard from people that alot of gearbox's have been replaced on trajets to a newer version gearbox because of problems ! anyone else experiencing such problems ?
I recently changed the gearbox oil and noticed the old oil was brassy in colour, which would suggest to me as been worn cones or selector, surely a gearbox should last the lifetime of the car ?
anyone got any suggestions ?

Ok folks i posted a topic earlier requesting assistance on the belt noise when i turn on the ac. I did the following this weekend, changed the tensioner bearing, changed the ac drive belt and noise still being made when i switch on the ac.I believe it is either the belt that connects the alternator needs changing, resaon being when u switch on the lights or the ac the noise comes on also, or is it the alternator drive belt needs tensioning.
Can anyone advise or give me the instructions how to tension the Alternator drive belt? is there a special tool to be used..its rel difficult to reach in there,at least for me!!
Also does the alternator carry a bearing?I'm troubleshooting here as this squeaking noise happens when you turn on the ac and lights only, doesn't make noise otherwise....the alternator drive belt looks good...

I'm going to own a Trajet soon.
I have seen from the website that the front trajet seats can actually be swivel back. Is that possible in Singapore version?
Also what is the weight of one of the middle row seat?
Anyone can recommend a good company that can do leather seat/panel for the car?

My friend is using a Trajet as a taxi in the UK. He has seen other Trajet with a mod whereby the rear facing 2 seats are removed and replaced with another 3 seater bench, giving him a 2/3/3 combination making his taxi able to carry 7 passengers.
He has spoken to several Hyundai garages in the UK and cannot seem to find any details of the parts he needs or even who can do the job for him.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I am trying to solve my engine/cat problem on my 2000/X Trajet, but would like to keep driving while doing this. I saw one posting for an accent where it had been driven 6months with CEL on. Is it okay to drive my Jet with the CEL lit or should I get it reset at the dealership (about 30GBP).
