I'm having a strange sound that I think is easiest to reproduce at high speeds (~120 km/h) while making a quick small right turn (change lanes fast).
The sound lasts around 1-2 seconds.
The car is a Trajet GLS 2003 with manual geerbox.
Anyone knows what it can be?

Hi, i have a problem with the dashboard lights after a thunderstorm.
I live in Sweden and here we have the headligths on at every time of the day, so directly after the engine goes on the headligths turn automatically on. I can stil control the dashboad ligths by turning the switch on and off.... but not any more.
The problem that I now have is that after I turn the engine off and remove the key the dashboard light are stil on and there is no way to turn they off. The batteri loses it's charge and the next day I can't start the car.
I suspect is a relay that has braked down after the storm.
The question is can anyone help me to find the one? and, tell me how to change it?
Does anyone have any other idea of what the problem could be?
For the moment I have solve the problem by removing a fuse from the box that is place behind the batteri (nr 13). It safes batteri but I can't see the dashboard at night :-(
I apologize for my english... I try the best I can. ;-)
I hope you understand my explanation of the problem.

Hi,
I have just purchased a 2003 Trajet GSi CRTD from a private seller in Northern Ireland.
The service history I have tracked down (since it was not stamped in the service book) even though it was done by Hyundai dealers (in Dublin) does not include a timing belt change. There are 90K miles on the car.
A local Hyundai dealer in Northen Ireland quoted me £300 plus VAT to have a timing belt change.
I was so shocked at the price that I did not ask them waht it included.
Now that I have picked myself off the floor (it may not be too bad if it covers other related parts and labour).
What related parts should one expect to be changed in a timing belt servvice for the GSI CRTD 2.0 Diesel?
I have read posts that include Tensioner and water pump (for differnet engine makes).
Does anyone know where I can find technical/mechanical information on how this procedure is done for this model?
I have seen some great posts on other models but I doubt if the engines are similar enough to mine for them to be meaningful.
How many hours would it take to change a timing belt on this model?
Thanks for any feeback.

1. After start engine when push to gas comming grey smoke (Not black) is that means engine burn oil or different problem?
2. How perform with CRDI engines. Is that good enough power for this car of not? Is that economic or not etc. ?
3. What is the known common problems of this car?

Hello all
I have the trajet 2ltr auto gsi on motorbility which has been modifyed with a hoist for my electric scooter , what i want to know is -- what are they like after a few years old ie any problems that crop up (as at the mo mines covered by mobility for evrything down to tyres) i know the resale value is not good but iam not looking at that .
Just want to know what may go wrong as my car is still on scheme for another 16 mths before i can have the choice to buy it.
To buy this car will cost me £4000 approx after the car is 3 years old and to put anther deposit on the next car that i like , is going to be anything up to 9000 (thats including the hoist to be bought and fitted).
So iwould really like your comments on this car as i really love it and it does my needs (not like the Kia seddona or carnival as it is known else where, ITS A LEMON as they say).
Thanks all you Trajeter's

My 2000 Trajet central locking is playing up. It works on all other doors but has lost control of the drivers door over the last few weeks.
I spent this afternoon stripping the door, and lubricating what I can but it is no better. I imagine that it is the actuator/motor in this door.
However having spent hours with my hands in every conceivable orifice, including removing the exterior door handle I cannot see how the actuator is mounted to the door.
Has anybody been in this far and removed it? Any idea what the part will cost me?
Any advice appreciated.

Hi, I've had my Trajet since last December but just today the slow release coin tray in the centre console above the lighter and ashtray wouldn't close fully. I assumed it had something jammed behind (a coin) and tried to pull it out. It took a bit of manoeuvering but I got it past the initial sticking point with nothing broken (as far as I can tell

) Now I can't get it back in!! It's tough to change gears with it sticking out and I wonder if I need to remove the whole console to replace it?
Anyone done this or am I the only one daft enough to do it?
Can anyone help?

Hi,
I've recently bought a 2.7 V6 Auto Trajet (2001), it's been going very well until recently.
The issue I'm having is inconsistant and does not happen at a specific speed or RPM. The CEL will illuminate and the car will jolt, as if being knocked out of gear, however the gears are still engaged but the acceleration is poor and it seems not to be above third gear. It changes done with no problem.
I noted down some performance figures before and after the CEL came on...
before ...at 60mph the RPM is 2400
after ...at 55mph the RPM is 3000 + poor excelleration
Has anyone experienced this problem and could provide some advice.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
My trajet is now 4 years old and 100K KM.
It used to zip right straight to 160KM/H then after 170KM/H creep slowly to 190KM/H assisted with a downhill incline.
It now takes a while for it to go to speeds beyond 140KM/H. When on a downhill incline, it brings the speed only to about 160KM/H and sometimes only slightly more.
What can be the reason for this "loss of performance"?

HI All
I and my colleague have finally designed , tested and installed on the Trajet a
cellular car alarm system . We hope to soon mass produce it . It is a relatively
low cost system ( 150 usd) .When system is armed, it monitors the car
doors, engine starting, shocks and battery disconnection. It calls and sends
13 different (SMS) messages to the owner describing the car condition.
It is possible to remotely test and program the system by sending an
SMS message, containing the owners cellular phone number and a pass code .
See the attachments Please .

Hi guys,
My car is now nearing the 90k KM mark. Thinking of flushing the brake fluid. Any recommendations on some of the better DOT4 brands out there? Just would like to know other driver's experience with various brands of brake fluids. May not exactly the right topic for this forum, but I sure would like to hear from Trajet owners regarding the matter.

Hi.
I have a UK 2002 Trajet 2.0 Diesel. The windscreen washer has stopped working and I don't hear any noise when I try to activate it, however the rear screen washer works fine. Is this likely to be the pump that needs replacing. If so, is this a common fault and how do I get to the pump to change it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi all,
I have a 2004 Trajet from Singapore which has the O/H video screen installed.
I am being told that even though the CD player, Pioneer P4550, cannot play DVD's, that the CD Changer, Pioneer P1280, allows DVD's or some other video format to show on the screen.
Can anyone say if this is so and if so how this can be done.

We have had our trajet for about 3 years and for over 1 year have had a intermitant knocking clunking noise from the rear of the car. Some times when going over speed bumps, some times when going around round abouts and some times when just driving along.
The Trajet has been into Hyundai several times over the year and they have said they found a stones in the shocks, but that didn't fix it. They said that it might be the brakes so they over hauled them but that didn't fix it. They say they have checked out the suspension and couldn't find anything wrong.
I don't trust them after taking the car in for its 10,000 mile service and being told that we had to replace the front break disc's as they were worn and that we would have to pay as it was fair ware. After talking to the head machanic we were then told that this was a load of rubish and that they didn't actualy need replacing.
Anyone got any idea what I should do to get this fixed?. Can I take the car to another dealer to get them to look at it or does it have to be the one I purchased the car from?.
Are there any known issues with knocking and cluncking from the rear of the Trajet?.
I worry about this as the car was purchased to ensure the safety of my wife and children and I realy don't like this loud knocking noise.
Many thanks in advance.

Hello everybody,
I have some questions for you all:
[attachmentid=3176]
1) Does anyone know how to install tweeters in the predifined positions of the dashboard? Are there any already installed cables in these positions or do I have to install them?
[attachmentid=3177]
2) Does anyone has this version of front cover in his ride? Can someone provide me with the part or at least the part number so I can place an order in my country (Greece). I have already asked this before in another post of mine, but since I got no answer I thought I might as well ask again.
Thanks in advance,

Hi
My Trajet 2.0 GSi suffers from water collecting on the cylinder head. After a while, it reaches high enough to drip down into the spark plug recesses (particularly No 3 & No 4 cylinders) The engine starts to misfire, unsurprisingly, and I know it's time to mop them out.
Bad design of the cylinder head top, with a lip at the r/h end means that any water that does collect has nowhere to run off and will form a small lake on top.
I've tried sealing the spark plug leads that cap off the recesses, but the water still gets in. Just had to replace a complete set of plugs as they were rusted to **** because of the water.
Anyone else come across this one?

I have a 2004 Trajet of Singapore origin and there is a small push switch located just below the Trip Button.
I can't figure out its purpose and have checked other Trajets and seen the same switch but no one seems to know either.
It is not an OEM switch and it is mounted in one of the blank OEM button slots.
It looks like something you would use for a car alarm valet switch.
Does anyone know its use?

the ABS in my trajet gets active unnecessary at low speeds(<30Km/h) .
this has happened 4 times in the last month . the Jet stops , but you feel
the brake paddle travels deeper , this is kind of scary , because it
happens unexpectedly . I checked the speed sensor at all wheels and
found that signals are getting through to the ABS controller (H ECU)
connector . Has any of you experienced such thing , what might be
the cause and what is the remedy . thanks

Last night I discoverd that both headlights were not working. Coincidently both bulbs (the H7 bulbs) appeared to be defect at the same time.
I do not keep track of it but to my feeling I had to replace each H7 bulb once a year till now. These bulbs do not seem to have a long lifetime.
What is your experience in changing headlight bulbs?
Does any one have experience with Xenon/Plasma replacement bulbs? Do these bulbs deliver the 30% extra lumen that is promised?
Sparks.
And a happy new year to all of you Trajeteers!

Hi All,
Your Trajet has not equipped with parking sensor and your parking space is limited.
Don't worry, you can make your own parking sensor. Cheap. Less than US$1.
See sample on my Trajet as attached below.
how to make it :
1. prepare 2 pcs of Cable Ties
2. install first cable tie on rear wiper
3. install another cable tie on top of first cable tie
4. to fix first cable tie with 2nd, glue it using power glue.
Hope its usefull. It kind of cute also.
What do you guys think ?
