Wink

Well I just did this job today - here's a video walk through using the guide from kia-forums.

Took me about an hour overall, now that I know what I'm doing, that could probably be done to around 30 minutes.

....That can wait until the other door motor fails I suppose

This was all taken on the fly - apologies for any crappy shots as result.

Boy have we had funnn with our 07' sliding doors! I've lost track on how many times it's been in the dealer for various problems....lessee, door won't open-door makes a 'beep' noise while trying to exit the van while pushing the button and does nothing-door closes but doesn't lock-door shuts and opens back up-door handle does not open sliding door. Sometimes we've had it in for more than one of these and sometimes repeatedly for the same thing. Had all sorts of modules replaced. Have finally gotten to the place where the right side works fine but the driver side won't open by the pillar switch. Have to push the overhead switch to get out the driver side. Outside the ridiculous issues with the doors this has been a nice van. Really no other problems. Just those stupid sliding doors. Does anyone know why they discontinued this van after three years?? I bet it has something to do with the doors.

The van is still in production under the KIA Sedona name until next year I think?

Have you had this van from new or did you buy it used - I'm sure you might get some answers on here from fellow owners or perhaps one of the techs.

One thing that's often mentioned is that the Hyundai dealers don't have as much experience with the Entourage as the KIA dealers have with the Sedona. It might be worth speaking to your local KIA dealer about the problems you've experienced and see what they advise could be the problem?

I have symptoms that are opposite:
1. Fob to open/close door works every time.
2. Overhead button to open/close door works everytime.
3. Outside handle and post button to open/close door works intermittently
4. Fob door-lock works intermittently on the sliding door - when it doesn't lock I can hear a "whine" and see the sliding lock on the door shudder
My 2007 is out of warranty so I have been taking it to a local mechanic. He says it is about an hour work to open it up to see what the problem might be.
Suggestions are welcome.

POWER SLIDING DOOR (PSD) is totally NON-RESPONSIVE beyond (1) "Beep, or "Error Tone"

Door opens fine,, then when closing, it gets almost closed,, then open right back up ---

Replace the PSD module for the offending side,, one on each side, behind the rear panel on each side.. may consider doing both, be done with it.

There is rear door latch recall for both power door and manual door, they get new latch.

sbr711,

Would appericate your professional opinion as my experience turning wrenches was years ago and on another brand. Cars I worked on didn't have power sliding doors.

PROBLEM:
RIGHT REAR POWER SLIDING DOOR (PSD) is totally NON-RESPONSIVE beyond (1) "Beep, or "Error Tone".

Door will not open or close (Electronically) via the button on map console near sunroof, the button located on B pillar, the inside/ outside door handle, or via the remote.

2007 Hyundai Entourage Limited - AKA 2nd gen Kia Sedona
58,000 miles
Bought new NorthEast USA, maybe saw (2) Winters up north, never wrecked.
USA SPEC, LHD.
Car always "Garage Kept", until about 10months ago.
Car "babied", Kept clean
Battery about 2yrs old.

"Usage" of car, or the doors? Senior citizens, No small kids they are toting around 24/7... so doors shouldn't be "worn-out'.

History:
During a protracted 9 month period in which I was getting Hyundai to address issues on both my fathers (2) Entourages on a myriad of issues I got with the factory rep and the PSD control modules (Left and Right) were replaced as a preemptive course of action after reading various stories on the net.

Around that time TSB on replacing the door latches was done.

So about 8 months ago:
L&R PSD Controller Modules replaced
L&R PSD Latches replaced as per TSB

*************
Fast forward 5,000 miles.
After family members get back from a trip I was informed ALL OF THE SUDDEN WITH NO WARNING... EG not interment.

RIGHT REAR POWER DOOR won't open or close.

Note: During the trip I was told it rained alot and car was parked outside.

Temps= Summer time.

***********************
Symptoms:

With car turned OFF, or "Running".

Door can be opened/closed manually, Door locks work normally.

"The single Beep", or "Tone is the same "tone" heard if you were to open LEFT PSD to rearward position, Then push in and HOLD pressure against the edging piece (Safety strip?) that detects objects in the way and reverses the door(s).

I hear no actuators, latching noises, etc... Just (1) Beep /Error tone... and that's it.

Most likely cause?

Safety Strip on forward door edge that detects objects in the way? Water?
Dead main motor (Possibly stuck brushes?)
Broken wiring in cabling to door?
PSD Module died? (Q: IIRC controllers are the same from side to side and are located in quarter panels, eh?)

PS:
Q: Did you ever hear, or possibly open the PSD Modules to see what goes "bad' in them? With these cars being "rare' to begin with/amount of techs familiar with them low to begin with and age of the cars increasing, techs familiar with Entourages deceasing, cars going out of warranty (And parts becoming N/A) as time goes on being able to "repair' a component is a plus.

Bad solders?, etc?

**********************
PS: Sorry for the long post. Note to self make short "HELP ME, HELP ME" type posts... long posts usually get few responses if any.

Reason for the long post?

1: To provide info upfront.
2: So the post/info might help someone else at a later date.

Entourage Sliding door jammed open

So have read the posts on the entourage sliding door problem and the ones that talked about the door being stuck open and the problem being the actuator motor was hopefully going to be my salvation. Car door stuck open and was 45 minutes from home. Drove it home. put a tarp on it and disconnected the battery and took other car and continued on my vacation.

Came back home after purchasing the actuator motor and went and followed the directions to at least manually close the door to start replacing the motor. Have been unable to get the door to move in the manual position but shutting off the switch on eh overhead panel and then using the door handle to manual move the door. Seems to be jammed open. Now when I even try to move the door with the motor all I get is a beep. either from the overhead panel door switch near door or the remote.

Did not have that problem before i disconnected the battery and put on the tarp.

Am totally lost and very annoyed any help but be greatly appreciated.

Hey All,

Our '07 entourage side power doors don't open on either side with the inside buttons, outside latch or key fob. Would this be the PSD module? and how easy is it to fix?

Thanks.
