The 2016 Sonata 2.0T has 245hp according to hyundaiusa.com
The 2017 SFS 2.0T's hp was reduced to 240. According to this article on cars.com, "there is more power and torque at lower engine speeds leading to less use of the accelerator in everyday driving, which helps fuel economy across the board."
jbc77 is correct. Starting in 2016, the Kia Optima 2.0T got 245 HP and in 2015 the Hyundai Sonata 2.0T got 245 HP. And the 2017 Santa Fe Sport 2.0T gets 240 HP with 260 ft-lb of torque peaking at a very low 1,450 RPMs and stays flat all the way to 3,500 RPMs. I much prefer the low end torque of the newer engines. It is more responsive and lower speeds and drives more like a diesel engine (which I prefer).
its not all about the horse power. torque is more important in an suv/truck.
dotn forget we have awd system that are only rated for so much power.
