Just wondering..
I had a 2007..2013 and now a 2015 Santa Fe ultimate. i have found some small issures with the 07 & 13, but none with the 2015 after three months of ownership.
There must be something that isn't quite right.. what is it?
Don't mention MPG.. on a road trip i got 27 over all.. at time 30+. If I was concerned about MPG I would have gotten a Smart Car.
Thanks.. Nick
Mine is almost 6 months old now, mechanically no problem. However, there are few issues with the fit and finish.
First one, I noticed there is a spot/shadow about the size of a quarter in the paint on the front bumper right hand corner. it looks like they clear coated over it, because I tried clean and wax it but the shadow remains.
Second one, several light scratches on the hood. Was able to remove them after applying paint sealant and wax.
Third one, right hand aft passenger upper aft corner is slightly bent, about 3/8 of an inch. it's obvious that they painted over it.
Forth one, both left and right aft passenger door has alignment problem; the door's aft edge above the aft wheel well/wheel arch protruding outward more.
Mmm, thought this thread is to talk about what's wrong with model year 2015 Santa Fe Sports, and not asking for input whether a member is happy or not happy. So it's really no need to jump into conclusion.
OK. Seriously, there really isn't much to complain or worry about with the 2015 AWD Ultimate with the 2.0 T. You do need to change the oil & filter every 3,000 miles because of the turbo. The ride is a bit stiff when going over a series of road bumps. But, that's balanced out by its good handling. The fuel mileage is sub par compared to other brands of light crossover vehicles. There have also been some complaints about the Bluetooth not working very well. Minor complaints.
Other than that, you've got a fine crossover with lots of luxury features that's really fun to drive. And, it costs a whole lot less than a Lexus, Infiniti, or Mercedes. Enjoy the ride.
How quick is the 2015 SFS AWD Ultimate with the 2.0T engine? Car & Driver's road test says 6.6 seconds from 0-60; the Edmunds' road test says 7.5 seconds for 0-60 and they stated issues about 'hesitation off the line' in their test comments section. Guys.. based on your experience with your vehicles which 0-60 road test result is the more correct one? Is anyone here experiencing 'hesitation off the line'? This expression Edmunds used suggests turbo lag.
I'm considering buying a 2016 SFS AWD 2.0T Ultimate when they become available this summer. I hope Hyundai doesn't drop the HP and torque of the 2.0T engine for model-year 2016.

Well I know Car & Driver tests by standing on the brake and getting the rpms up and their test was conducted in cold weather. Dunno how Edmunds tests but 0 to 60 times with a small displacement turbo 4 are impacted by a lot of variables - air temps, engine temp, altitude and atmospheric conditions
octane level , engine broken in and so.
Some early 0 to 60 tests were much slower than those 2 you reference and I live at 5280 ft and on a hot summer day there is a fair amount of turbo lag.
So YMMV.
guys dont turn this into an oil or bicker thread. we have plenty of info on this forum to really not need this thread; but i am giving it a change to keep tabs on 2015 ONLY qwerks. other than that - find the appropriate thread and take it there.
...as I understand it is 3k on the first oil change and 5K thereafter....as I read it...turbos do rquiered "extra care" due to the high heat that they generate, which sometimes tends to "cook" the oil faster...
