Its been real cold here and when I came out from work tonight there was a thin layer of ice on the inside of the windshield and some on the passenger window. The lower left corner of the windshield was the worst, when the defroster finally got it cleared there was actual condensation left. Any once else have this problem or ideas on what might have caused it.
All the doors were closed tight.

It's just leftover humidity from the vehicle occupants' breathing. Running the A/C with fresh air and heat generally helps, as does opening a window slightly for a few minutes before parking. Anything to vent all that moisture before shutting down.

Dear Don,

You missed the earlier 'ice on inside windshield' threads when Canada was hitting -40Celsius and the Canadian members were getting ice. Venting the interior moisture is good, but you can also try the RainX anti-fog product on the inside of your windows.

Thats lame sounds like the same excuse I got from the dealer. There was noone in the car all day. I have NEVER had ice on the inside of a windshield, when just sitting in any of the other cars I have owned. The more I get these little irritants and the lack of response of Hyundai the more I dislike the car. Just to recap ice on windshield unacceptable, brake maintenace unacceptable, poor gas mileage unacceptable, engine hesitation and poor performance when cold unacceptable,
poor dealer response and excuses unacceptable.

OMG. Have you had the ice analyzed? Was it Korean? Sounds like a conspiracy.

You asked the same question last year, got the same response and then proceeded to blast Hyundai for poor performance (again):
http://www.hyundai-forums.com/index.php?sh...mp;#entry138820

Why do you continue to keep the car if you don't like it? Scratch that, why do you continue to keep the car if you HATE it?? Doesn't make much sense...

Nice find, skanji.

You would think that after a year, he would have gotten used to the problem or gotten rid of the vehicle. Now it's a year older and worth less.

I spent many years in the Chicago area, Colorado and many other cold weather places. When the weather gets very cold, ice forms, inside and out. That's just the nature of the beast of cold weather.

Perhaps he is used to driving in the tropics.

I doubt there are many places that are colder than Ottawa (hit -35 last week)...we have never had ice build inside my '02 Elantra even once...

My 2008 Santa Fe GLS has been sitting outside idle in the weather and no ice has built up.

It's not normal for ice to build up from what I have read, and there are products that can prevent it (assuming all sources of condensation have been removed from the car (really wet matts, water build up, etc...)

It's just weird that the original poster continues to bash Santa Fe's here, that's all - doesn't seem like a bitter owner, but someone who has an interest in killing the reputation of Hyundais...seen those peeps before...

Again, if you dislike the car so much, to the point that you are **** off on an annual basis, get rid of the car...

ok so its sounds like Im bitter and bashing Hyundai. Also I have no direct intention killing Hyundai's reputation they can handle that all by themselves. I suppose Trucker, David-Paul-1 and skanj1 have had flawless santa's, so why add comments on the forum? no experience keep personnal comments of the board. As to complaining about it a year ago, if you look at the rest of the threads there was allot of people with the same problem. Also skanji stated he has not seen the ice problem then dont slam me if you are the isolated case.

I've had the interior ice problem before, but only once or twice. I believe it only happens under specific weather conditions, just like how some nights there will be lots of moisture or fog on the windshield, and the next night none (even with the same temperature). If it happens all the time, then maybe there is a real problem with the car.
