We not been doing senders on those after 2009 chassis..

Thank you for this info.
This was my only concern. I am switching from Jeep Liberty 4x4 that I had for the last 6 years. I test drove a few SUVs and so far this 2011 Santa Fe GLS AWD won me over. The ride is so much smoother and quiter than the Jeep I used to drive, you can't even compare the two. I like to research and read some reviews before I buy a car and I found quite a few people complaining about fuel gauge in 08-09 Santa Fe models.
Other than this I had no concerns about this vehicle after test driving it in both city and highway...sure like any other car there might be some problems.....time will tell....
Thank you again for your help.
I think in a few days I'll be here a lot more, 'cause I am thinking of buying it....

It took long enough but they finally started installing an improved sender. I had the problem in my 07. You are OK with thr newer model.

How many miles are on it? You might want to search the Forum database for issues with 2011 focus on brakes , suspension wearing issues, oil leaks, quality concerns many things have improved since I got my 07 but lots of issues havent. Hopefully the place you get it from will give you a good warrenty.

Like on many other cars, frame rust has been an issue in salt belt states. There are many threads on here about that topic. All is not lost, however, as there are ways to address it.

Search and ye shall find.

It's a private sale, so no warranty.
I am from Canada, she has 139000 kms on the clock or approx. 86000 miles.
Thanks for the heads up on known issues, definitely will read all forum info.

Not worried much about rust...it's an Alberta car (always was) we don't use salt here in the winter....mostly sand only.

Well, guys....I just bought it.
I really like the vehicle...hoping to get many years of service out of it.
Really like the blue interior illumination....drove it after dark....looks futuristic comparing to my old Jeep's boring green....
Thank you all for helping me with my decision..
