2008 santa fe cd player problem

When I turn on the motor to the Santa fe the cd player says loading cd - there is no cd in the slot - it lasts a few minutes then says error and stops. Now when I turn the motor off it starts the same process with the motor off. Had the santa fe for 9 years and never had this problem before. any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Either there's debris in there that is blocking the sensor that normally is blocked to detect the presence of a disc, or the sensor is defective. Either way, it's going to require a removal to know for sure.

Did you have little horrors in your front seat. That slot may have been tempting for one of them to slip something in there. Whether you can see it or not I couldn't say. Press the Eject button maybe something might come out if you're lucky (not alive..) LOL

We have a 2008 Santa Fe and we're experiencing the same issue too. The CD player no longer works and every time we turn on the ignition you can hear the CD player trying to eject or load. We've had this issue for several years now and has come to the point we no longer want to deal with it, but if there's some way to fix it besides brining it into the $tealer that would be great! At least our RSE still works and the kids can still enjoy movies on road trips...

Mine is the same, you need to pull it out and repair the loading mechanism. There is a thread here somewhere. I have had 6 CD's stuck in there for about 2 years now LOL
