Dear Forum members,
This Spring I started hearing whining sound from the front end of my 2010 Santa Fe (4WD) with ~170 000 km on it. The noise was heard and was constant at 100 km/h and up. Recently the noise appears at ~60 km/h and stays all the way up with no (or hardly noticeable) change of the intensity with the change of speed or when shifting, or at neutral, or when turning...
The dealership mechanics insist the only thing they hear is tire noise and raise shoulders in response to my complaints...
Brought the car to a certified, independent, reputable shop for test(s). The vehicle was driven and tested on road and in the air with sensors. The noise was heard on the road by the mechanics, and the sensors showed potential problem with the front left bearing hub. Immediately got the hub replaced... the noise didn't disappear or change...
Friend of mine had similar noise problem with his 2009 Santa Fe. He replaced a suspected bearing hub and his problem was solved...
I have my vehicle serviced and maintained as prescribed and recommended. All the "faulty" parts are being replaced instantly. The transmission (with the well known problems...) and the associated components were replaced in November 2014. I'm taking care of my vehicle the best I can... and not being able to solve this problem for 4 months tortures me tremendously...
I'm wondering and am begging for advise on what else (apart from a faulty bearing hub) can this noise be caused by... Thank you all in advance.
Sincerely,
Oggie
