2010 Hyundai Santa Fe whining noise...

Dear Forum members,

This Spring I started hearing whining sound from the front end of my 2010 Santa Fe (4WD) with ~170 000 km on it. The noise was heard and was constant at 100 km/h and up. Recently the noise appears at ~60 km/h and stays all the way up with no (or hardly noticeable) change of the intensity with the change of speed or when shifting, or at neutral, or when turning...
The dealership mechanics insist the only thing they hear is tire noise and raise shoulders in response to my complaints...
Brought the car to a certified, independent, reputable shop for test(s). The vehicle was driven and tested on road and in the air with sensors. The noise was heard on the road by the mechanics, and the sensors showed potential problem with the front left bearing hub. Immediately got the hub replaced... the noise didn't disappear or change...
Friend of mine had similar noise problem with his 2009 Santa Fe. He replaced a suspected bearing hub and his problem was solved...
I have my vehicle serviced and maintained as prescribed and recommended. All the "faulty" parts are being replaced instantly. The transmission (with the well known problems...) and the associated components were replaced in November 2014. I'm taking care of my vehicle the best I can... and not being able to solve this problem for 4 months tortures me tremendously...

I'm wondering and am begging for advise on what else (apart from a faulty bearing hub) can this noise be caused by... Thank you all in advance.

Sincerely,
Oggie

Good day, have same noise on my 2011 going to Hyundai dealer for mechanic to hear. When spoke to adviser on phone was informed if the noise was from the front wheel bearings would be covered under 100,000 mile guarantee but if noise was from rear that would not be under warranty. I am assuming the rear are not part of the drive train on front wheel drive.

Please clarify the use of 'constant' that first sentence. You talk about intensity in the second sentence, but in neither do you discuss the pitch. Does the pitch of the noise increase with speed or no?

Air or wind might but not so much on a hoist. Unless its a vacuum leak but again. You have to be there to detect it. The independent shop heard it but did not isolate an area which is key.

With me sitting at the keyboard its all guess work.

Good that you've at least got on record (prior to warranty expiring) that you believe you have an issue.
But speaking of 'shoulders'. It's possible they have actually identified the problem, but don't understand it. Rub your hand along the inside shoulder, around the circumference of both front tires in BOTH directions. Do you notice a distinct raise in the tread in ONE direction only?

My 2010 Hyundai suddenly developed a whining noise when I drove the car - I never listen to radio or CDs so I knew how my car should sound on the inside when driving it - and the noise was suddenly new to me and continued to whine every time I drove it - I took to my mechanic and he said nothing was wrong - I told my friend about it and he drove it and heard it also - he decided to change the cabin air filter behind the glove compartment and the air filter under the hood and when I drove it afterwards the WHINE WAS COMPLETELY GONE !!! The filters were very Impacted with dirt and debris - I’m sure they had never been changed before lol - I’m so very pleased with my FRIEND - I’m taking him out to dinner !!! I’d like to send pic of condition of the air filters but I don’t know how to do that
