2011 Santa Fe, clicking noise when turning hard right, slow speed. Sounds like its coming from right front area. Anyone had anything like this?

If it happens only on bumps it is likely a bad stabilizer link... a common issue on the Santa Fe.

It happens at slow speed like turning in or out of a parking spot.

Sounds like a bad steering rack, but that seems unlikely on a new Santa Fe. Sorry, I'm stumped.

Clicking while you're turning the steering wheel, or clicking while you're rolling at slow speed in a turn?

It's way early for this sort of thing, but that kind of noise is often associated with CV joints and wheel bearings (if you're moving when it happens).

If you can reproduce it, it makes sense to get it in for a check-up.

In past cars, it's always indicated a busted CV joint. But like you said, a new 2011 model shouldn't be experiencing faulty CV joints this early. Definitely worth a trip to the dealer.

If it only happens ONCE at each start/take-off then it's the ABS self-check per manual:" A click sound may be heard in the engine compartment when the vehicle begins to move after the engine is started. These conditions are normal and indicate the ABS is functioning properly". I heard that metalic click from day one and actually educated the dealership as to the fact it was not a problem. I could be way off (if you hear it more consistantly/frequently as you drive-then the other recommendations/advice would prevail.) Tedrik

Thanks guys.
The noise is not in the steering wheel. It sounds outside toward the right front wheel. The noise is when the car is moving and the wheels are turned all the way to the left or right not when I turn the steering wheel.

i have the same on a 2009 santa fe. doesnt happen all the time but it does seem to be often enough. my first thought was cv joint but if it was that i would be getting it doing a hard lock u turn but its only when turning out of an intersection (from a complete stop), left or right.

ive heard the plastic washers in the santa fe cv joints can cause it, or a loose castle nut, neither of which ive had checked out yet.
