Hi, just bought my first Santa Fe, looking to put OEM new cross bars on the rails. Anybody know the best place to get them? Thanks

my first guess for OEM products would be Hyundai But like you I as well would like to get the cross bars as I know I will eventually use them. I know hyundai has them for like $236 or something like that but I have no idea if that is a good price or not. Let me know if you find a cheap place for them.

Of course, my Santa Fe Limited came with crossbars as standard equipment. It seem like a real rip off that they were not included in future models after 07. Afterall, what good are the bars, without the rails?

I like the looks of the cross rails but many here have removed them, thinking that their gas mileage would increase. Actually, the gas mileage advantage without the rails is imperceptible. Others have removed them because they don't like the way they look.

Do not waste your money buying from a Hyundai dealership. Here is a good place to start.

Good luck,

Um - I missed that detail. I thought they were added as standard for 2009 and the prior years they were an option.

Sorry - I see they are standard on just the SE & Limited.

I'm just the opposite I would love to take mine off but the the one closest to the front of the vehicle is broken. One side of it won't move, I've tried everything to get it to move.

You say it is broken. Where exactly is the break?

Are you able to move the pin out of the hole? Have you tried penetrating fluid or WD40 to loosen things?

Can I assume that you have less than 60,000 miles on the vehicle so that your warranty is still in play?

Have you tried a very large hammer with an attitude? Just kidding, don't do it, even if you feel like it.

I know, I know, so many questions, so little time.

If you can get a good set together, you may have a buyer from the above post, if he hasn't already purchased from ebay.

Just to give you a different option, you may want to consider Thule bars instead, depending on your intended use. They seem a little more sturdy than the oem, they are a little bit higher off the roof giving you more space to install whatever you need, and they can be moved from vehicle to vehicle unlike OEM that will go with the Santa Fe when you trade in.

Yes I have about 32K miles. The linkage attached to the handle is cracked so no the pin will not come out of the hole, it is on the driver side. I'm about to head back to college so I don't have time to get involved with the dealer about it.

There are dealers all over the country, so your excuse of heading back to college and have no time to deal with it, does not fly.

Apparently, you have no financial investment in this Santa Fe. Gift from your parents?

Your loss.
