Thanks again. BTW, I also contacted Hyundai to try and get some insight about the radio and the installation. I basically placed the same information request to them. Here is their reply:

In order to completely address your questions regarding whether or not the radio is amplified, we will need some time to research your inquiry in order to get back to you with the requested information.
Hyundai does not recommend the installation or use of any aftermarket parts in any Hyundai vehicle. If you should choose to install an aftermarket part that causes another part to fail in your Hyundai Veracruz, the repair may not be covered under warranty.
