To tint, or not to tint?

I'm tinting my windows this week and am debating on doing a brow on the front windshield. What are your guys' opinions on the windshield visor tint? Does it look good? Does it actually work? Thanks!

Personally, I say no. With the way the centers are these days, especially if you have a homelink mirror can be a pain to do with iffy results.

2014 Elantra Sport 2.0 6M Shimmering Silver. LED interior lights, cargo mat and net. 35/20% tint. LED tag and back up lights. LED fogs. LED headlights, homelink.
2016 Tucson Sport 1.6T 7A Caribbean Blue. Hitch, tint, mudguards, homelink, cargo cover, LED back up and tag lights, power pass seat lumbar installed, LED fogs, aftermarket crossbars for the roof.

I've always had it done on every car I have owned. It looks better in my opinion.

I've had it on previous cars and liked it. In fact, I'm slightly considering doing it on my Accent and I won't tint the side or rear windows.

Not what you wanted to hear given solman98's comment.

I'm in Chicago. Thing is that the auto shop is throwing in the brow for free with the purchase of ceramic tint. Debating on doing it or just asking them to reduce price of ceramic a bit

Depending what your price is, I doubt they'd reduce it much. I wasn't looking at ceramic, but I think shops near me were like $10 more to do it (or free with job) and maybe $30 if I only wanted the brow (on a $185 or so tint job for the car).

I had a brow once, I liked it pretty well.

This time around I'm gonna do the entire windshield with 70% tint. Just enough to darken it a bit, cut down some of the sun rays from fading the dash and help keep the cabin a little cooler.

This will be in addition to the 35% tint I already had done to the front/rear/back window(s).

Found a shop that'll do it for $60. They only charged me $140 to do the rest of the car. In and out for $200, not bad IMO.

There is 90% Crystalline or similar film for the windshield that would reject heat and give you less issues with the police. Just saying.

Thanks, I didn't know that. When I asked at the shop the woman started with 70% and since I wasn't doing it that day I didn't ask any questions. I'll have to shop around a bit and see who has that film for the best price, the less attention I draw to the popo the better!
