^^ Hey-man, you would be the first one if you went through with it. The E17 is too fresh to be this deep in mods on display in this forum. yeah, yeah..yeah...there's all these places that sell all sorts of the latest mods, but not a single person here has bought a $6 can of plastic dip and blacked out their emblems. I'm just saying...if no one here has done the small things, the larger ones will have to wait to an unknown date before someone says they're the first.
I'm waiting out the agony with the arrival of the sport model. At times I think I'll be the first one here neck deep in mods.
If you modify your car, post pictures! Can't wait to see some gnarly rides beyond the boring stock editions
Hey bro, I wish there was an awesome, wicked, radical tab to click here. Instead, there's a plain 'like' tab. Bummer. So, yeah...I like your ride. By all means post more detailed pics of your mods /or at least share what you've customized beyond the obvious things like the window tint/ rims ect.
Your posts are everywhere. You seem like a cool guy. If you actually installed those springs yourself, words can't express how awesome that would have been.
Ha, how is this for a response, "officer, I am not drunk, just trying to avoid all the potholes in the roads." All these compact cars were already lowered at the factory to reduce the coefficient of drag, 5" of ground clearance has been the standard, Elantra, empty is only 5.25".
With our Cruze, could no longer use my 50 year old oil changing ramps, had to buy new low profile ones, still change my own oil. So how low do your want to go? Ever look at the latest prices of exhaust components?
I just want to make the wheel gap smaller
I changed the seats to katzkin leather and bought all weather floor mats till i find a set of 2 inch lowering springs
Those mods are so badical. Wondering why you chose the SE model over the limited. You say you just want the car with lower springs. At this level of modification, it would seem you have more planned than what's being shared. After looking at your floor mats, I'm thinking about switching my plans from aftermarket to custom made.
There is way to much wheel gap doesn't look good!! talked to some online store he thought storm made lowering springs for it but today he emailed me they don't have it yet. i bought the se bc i knew i could get the seats done, i never use the sunroof in any of my cars so didn't want it, i thought i could change the lights to hids but they use a different harness so i can wait for a harness or splice into the factory wiring.
Awesome story. You haven't filled out your information in the CP area, so I'll ask here. Where are you from (state)?
Once I buy the AD sport, these are my plans within the first season of ownership-
- Headliner/ interior: Ultrasuede (the real deal)
- Entire halogen removal with LED replacements
- debage all emblems for custom replacements
- added sound deadener in fenders and interior
- LED interior accent lighting. Some of the custom work with plexiglass might have to wait later that year due to time allotment
- floor mats (haven't decided if I'll go aftermarket of full out custom made)
- depending on if the car comes with a spoiler for the US market, I have other plans
- window tint
- I think I'm messing some things...that's most of it
Year 2:
- Fabricating custom carbon fiber parts. 6k for exterior and 3k/ 6k interior (haven't decided yet)
- tweaking LED lights into custom fabrication pieces.
- engine turning
As of this moment, I don't have the intention to lower the vechical. Maybe I'll change my mind once I obtain the vehicle.
Keep posting your mods throughout your modification or send me a pm with any news.
