2018 Elantra Sport pictures, videos and news.

2017+ Hyundai Sport Turbo Forum

In this thread I will post actual pictures, videos and any news forthcoming in regards to the upcoming Elantra sport 2017/ 2018 as it becomes available. I'm excited to finally see the sport model arrive to the states once it becomes available. I strongly believe this model will be a 2018 because of the late American media introduction coming this early November at the SEMA event in Las Vegas. The SEMA event is only available to the news media, which imo gives an even later introduction to the consumer considering most likely the first available appearance for the public will be at the LA auto show which is held in late November.

Moving forward...I will post more information in the following posts.

0-62 mph is estimated at 7.26 secs according to this test run (pic below). I wouldn't call it a full accurate test given testing equipment wasn't used. This run was done in normal mode with the automatic transmission. Perhaps it might be faster once sport mode is activated, using the paddle shifters, or maybe in the manual transmission. It's still a bit early to tell.

Here's a closeup of the carbon trim in pic one. Pic two shows the image magnified to see even further details. Hyundai did an okay job to simulate actual carbon fiber. Imo this carbon package will only be available with the red/black or all red seating package. I say this b/c Hyundai released an official press release with interior/exterior color chart and only the sport bucket seats show the carbon package along with the D steering wheel. All the other sport modals will be available with seats just like the SE/ECO/LTD models.

This view is sooo beautiful. I can't wait to get my hands on that steering wheel. The red metallic detail on the bottom of the steering wheel was a nice little touch. I do wish the instrument cluster was a bit more sportier. Meh. I still can't get over how beautiful that flat bottom steering wheel is.

Random front end pics

The pic below is the R-tuned version. I don't like the rims, however, I'm sure they're lighter than the ones that come standard. The rims could change for the American version. There will be a sports package with shocks, rims ect. I wonder what the price will be on this....geeeez.

The SE/ECO/LTD are available in 8 exterior colors. According to a press release, the sport comes in 11 exterior colors. A buddy of mine just sent me these pics. It's unknown if one of the 3 exclusive colors is more of a red or orange. Refer to pictures. It does look like a metallic color.

The exhaust is interesting. 90 degree tailpipe and a large muffler. From the videos I've seen, the exhaust notes are more noticeable with a louder growl. It's no mustang, but it's better than the current trim lines.

Where's the interior color chart?
