I would think all the release information will be presented at the North American International Auto Show on Jan.14th at the 3:00PM Hyundai Press Conference . . .

Thanks IXEC. Forgot about that. If that holds true, we will probably see it in Canada a few weeks later, which means Feb. Anyway, will be watching for announcements at the NAIAS.

Given the proximity to Korea (I understand the longer ones will be made in Korea), it seems they would appear first in California.

I've got no use for the 3rd row, and would instead like to have the covered floor storage box space of the Sport, but in the longer version. Of course, removing the seats should be easy. I wonder if anybody really uses such tiny third row seats on any of of the vehicles this size? Perhaps just for small children?

The 40-20-40 rear seat on the Sport and non-Limited longer version are a nice feature found on few other SUVs, although it would be nice to have the 2nd row captain's chairs offered on the sport.

The cooled seats would be a wonderful option for the USA, but at elast the leather is nicely ventilated. I wonder how difficult it would be to add the cooling?

We plan to get one of these in the next couple years. My only wish is that they had made it a little longer. If we could have the cargo area of the Sport when the rear seats are up I would be one happy camper.

Does anyone know if the GLS or Limited trims force you into 7 and 6 seat configs - or if you can mix and match. For example - I'm interested in the fully loaded limited but have no use for the 6 seat captain chair config - and would rather have 7 seats.

Maybe I am missing something - and the cost/difference wouldn't make sense so I'd just pick the GLS and load it up.

I got hte impression thought that the Limited had more bells and whistles - but just wasn't clear if it meant you were stuck with 6 seats v. the option to keep 7.

Take a look at the option packages. You can basically make a GLS come equipped with most things the limited has. But the GLS will always have 7 seats and the limited will have 6.

Surprised after checking the link - that essentially if you need 7 seats - you're locked into no Panoramic roof - or automatic tailgate - and proximity/push button start.

Why wouldn't Hyundai allow those to be options if it's essentially the same platform?

All you're doing is screwing in different seats? How hard/inefficient from an assembly line is that when you're already doing all the other stuff?

Am I being too dense and missing something?

yeah, I think they are trying to differentiate the two models, but agree, that it sucks. I too want the loaded version with full bench rather than captains chairs.
