Default horn in engine bay?

I see on the passenger side of the engine bay, this is not the standard horn as they are behind the bumper, or the beep from locking the car because that is on the drivers side behind the battery. What is it for? Anyone know?

I noticed this the other day, too. I think it must be a security honker. Sometime I'll work up the courage to test it.

It's probably the low pitch horn ?

1. Horn switch
2. Horn relay (Engine room compartment)
3. Clock spring
4. Horn - Low pitch
5. Horn - High pitch

The Hi and Low horns can be seen when you pull off the front bumper. However, they can't be seen from the engine bay. The horn that chirps when you lock your car seems to sound different from the Hi Lo horns. Perhaps just uses one of them. I do not have it programmed in my car though. Usually alarm horns are also mounted in the engine compartment, but I find them to be most effective inside the passenger compartment loud and piercing that makes the would be thief want to get out and away from that sound quickly. Where exactly is it located?

hard to get a good pic in the dark, but its right behind the engine mount. You can see the round horn. If you get a better angle from the side you can clearly tell it is a horn.

Again the beep beep from locking/unlocking the doors comes from behind the battery area, so this is not it.

That I have not done, I dont know if you can activate the alarm if you have the hood open. I should try that though..

Dont see why they would have a separate horn for that though.

OH!! There is also that, walk away from a running car with the smart key in the pocket, that loud beep goes off..

It is for the alarm. How could I have missed that big honking thing right there all this time?

For the alarm huh, I wonder why they did that rather than using the regular horns?? I see no point in this car having a total of 4 horns haha!!
