Default Blackberry Z10 - usb problem

Hi everyone;

I can't seem to establish a connection between my Blackberry Z10 and the car via usb. Screen says "Communication Error".

I was hoping to charge the phone via the cable, but that doesn't work either. What can I look for to troubleshoot this? Hoping not to have to buy a lighter socket charger.

Music via bluetooth works, but I can't access music via the cable or charge the phone that way.

Suggestions?

Try with a different USB cable.

I have USB charger connected to 12V plug, BT connects for audio and phone. That powers the phone and USB connector has dedicated small USB flash drive connected to it. I found using phone as USB storage impractical as on android accessing storage as USB drive makes it inaccessible for the OS internally. Also I have some content that is not simple MP3 file, like podcasts, streaming etc. It is probably better just to use BT, even if you charge phone on USB connector.

Well, I enabled USB storage mode on the phone and away it went.

I wasn't so much interested in playing media from the phone via the cable, as Bluetooth is working. Rather, I was hoping to charge the phone while driving without buying a power outlet charger.

With the communication error displayed on the screen, the phone was not charging.

My Blackberry Z-10 will not link up through bluetooth. I looked on line and apparently it is not supported yet by Hyundai. How do I "enable USB storage mode"? Is that on the BB or on Car settings?

I just was able to pair my BB Z10 with the Sonata. The problem was it was trying to sync with the device from the previous owner. I had to get in and delete out the previous owner's device and then re-pair it with the BB. so I'm good to go!

It worked despite the Hyundai website not listing my BB as compatible.
