Nice! Did you paint the calipers yourself? If so, any hints/tips? I'm tempted, liked it on my little Fiat.

P.s. will turn 59 in December. Think Santa will bring me an Audi R8 GT?

I'm 46, but haven't grown up past my mid 20's as far as tricking out vehicles is concerned. I had to slow down the customization process as I haven't made my first payment yet. I have already picked out new rims, mew speakers, subwoofer, fog light mods, and have started acquiring LEDs for the interior. I had the windows tinted 6 days after I picked up the car.

57 here...
seems the GT is a car for the young and young at heart

My wife and I decided we wanted a verstile, fuel efficient and smart looking car to tour around in our early retirement.

I know the feeling. Retiring in June 2013. I'll be 53. I needed a car that was good on gas currently I travel 65 miles one way. When I retire, I have a side gig I've been doing for the last two years which requires some traveling about an hour away at times so I still need something with good MPG. I also have the Atlantic blue, which interior did you get?

I'm under 30, have been a fan of hatches and wagons for awhile. They have the handling of fun, smaller cars with the utility of a larger vehicle without the gas-guzzling aspect.

I've been to Europe and I wish I could bring of their cars back, so many great looking diesel hatch/wagon options, makes the North American car market seem pathetic.

Agreed. Hatches and wagons are the way to go...so many better options in Europe. I traded in the Touring for the GT, but I would have loved to have gotten a larger 'Estate' version of the GT here.

Yeah I wish we had the euro hatches here too. Styling is better, most of the time performance is better and available diesel engines is pretty cool too.

Anyway, I haven't played the age game yet....I'm 35...purchased the GT cause it is the perfect car for me right now. I wanted a sporty hatch that gets good gas mileage, comfortable to drive, cheap w/ a lot of options and room for a kid and all of his stuff. The GT perfectly grinds out my 100 mile a day round trip commute 4 days a week.

I too have been a fan of wagons for a long time! I do love the GT, however there's a BIG part of me that wishes there was 5 Elantras (sedan, coupe, GT3, GT5, and Touring [ie i30 wagon]), as I'd really love to have the i30 wagon here.... Why do the Europeans always get the best of the car world? :'(

The most frequent comment from reviewers is: Americans don't like hatches. GM did not bring the hatch Cruze. The new Audi A3 will not have the hatch version here. And the list goes on. SUVs are still too popular in this part of the world.

Which is ironic, consodering thatubless you're buying a GM or Ford full size, a Sequoia, 4Runner or Armada/QX56; 98% of the SUVs on the market trace their chassis roots back to cars...
