OEM Roof Cross Rails

I purchased and installed the OEM rails. They fit, but I wouldn't say it's perfect. I still have concerns that water could find its way into the roof because the rubber footings leave slight gaps. Have you had any issues with this, or are yours 100% sealed water tight?

I called Hyundai and they had absolutely no idea if it was an issue with water getting in there. They did say, however, that there is no drainage on the roof. I was told to take it to a dealer, which I already did, and the dealer had no idea either. The dealer seemed to think that the engineers at Hyundai took this into consideration, because the rubber footings even if tightly secured could not possibly create a seal against all water. His thought was that the hole where the screw thread sits is sealed in some way from the rest of the roof.

I was strongly advised against using calk (as that can damage the paint finish, and also cause rust).

I lucked out, I got the dealer to throw the rails in when we made the deal so they were installed by the dealer. they seem like a nice fit. when I figure out how to post a photo I'll post one. I will take a closer look tomorrow and see if they fit as well as I think.

In Canada, only non sunroof GT's come with factory pre-mounts for roof racks. Hyundai Canada has an option for these on their website. The Rola ones may fit but it will interfer with the sunroof opening and closing. They are a clamp on style rather than a pre-mount
