Default Anyone else get offers from XM Radio?

Well after about 20 attempts at contacting me by phone, I finally was in the mood to see what they wanted so I finally answered the call this evening. They asked all the usual questions and gave me the warm, polite welcome, etc... But then got to the offer. Bottom line, after the 3 month free trial, gave me 3 more months after that for $7.47 total. That will give me until Feb 1st to decide if it is really worthwhile.

On another note, is the traffic, stocks, sports and weather ( except in Canada) all part of the XM radio? If I cancel will I lose that feature on the Nav too?

After 3 months I will cancel it. I don't listen to it at all. The sound quailty is very low for the music stations I tried. They use a very high compression rate and the sound comes out very dull and high pitched. Lower quality than FM, is it what we are supposed to pay for?

Not trying to be silly, but I was under the impression that XM/Sirius was for US customers only? I was told years ago that you could drive across the borders and loose reception within a few miles. Fairy Tale???

Walt

BYW, my reception is 1st class, equal to FM and HD radio.

There is a Canadian version of XM/Sirius (SiriusXM Canada - SiriusXM Canada)

I'm getting decent quality on the XM too. Maybe for once Canada's got it better.

XM has been calling me trying to get me to join up for another 3 months for $2.50/month. I turned it down. I'm really disappointed in their product. I listened to the comedy channels, 60's/70's/80's channels and the dance music channels. Almost every time I switch to the comedy channels, there's a commercial playing. The dance stations have songs on repetition way too soon.
Plus I find the sound quality is so-so. I'll stick to my USB stick for my music collection.

I was told by a friend that when they call and try to get you sign up for more time, to hmm haw around, and they will eventually make an offer you can't refuse. That is what I am hoping for anyways. Still have 2 months left on our 3 month trial. I find our 2013 Elantra has a great audio system, better than anything we have ever owned.

Offered 3 months for 2.50/month. Refused it, reception is pretty crap and find the music stations are nothing special. If I was a big sports guy.. maybe, but even then i dont spend more then an hour in my car per day

I also really like the traffic feature, especially on my commute home. It shows the slow downs on the freeway and even posts the average speed. I find it fairly accurate too. Don't know if you can get that without a music package.
