Hello all,
I am new to the forum. I just bought a 2013 tech with the chestnut interior. The car is great and I already got tons of compliments. I wanted to know if anyone has changed their fog light bulbs to something other then then standard bulb? The car has headlights that stand out but normal fog lights. Just curious to see if anyone has switched out these bulbs? Thanks, E |

I've been looking into it but there just isn't a lot of choices out there as far as the fog lights go. I've seen where some have talked about led's, but I really don't want to lose any functionality as I use the things. I live out in the sticks and they do help to light up the sides of the roads. Where we live, you got to be on the look out for deer! I got about a dozen of them that sleep in my yard every night. I really don't want one as a hood ornament. I thought about converting them to HID's, but talking to a couple of guys that sells the stuff wasn't real encouraging. I don't really want to have to rewire the whole thing just to change the color of the lights.

If you're worried about the electronics warranty, they'll have to prove that the LED bulb messed up everything. Very hard to do. and if you become THAT concerned, just swap them back to the original bulb right before you take it in if something happens from something else.

Why put yourself in that position. Remember this, the dealer doesn't have to prove anything. The onus is on you the owner. As for swapping the bulbs out, there will be an indication left behind by the aftermarket bulbs. Bottom line is that I couldn't care less. I just wanted to inform the forum member that he could have a problem and why get pushed into that position. |

The stock bulb in the factory foglights are H8, which are a lower wattage bulb than most fog light bulbs. The H8 bulb is only a 35w bulb, so i would not recommend putting anything in there that is higher than that. LED would be a good option, but i just don't like how there is no real use (output). They are nice and bright when looking at the car, but as for useable light for the driver......there really is none.
I had a set of PIAA Ion Yellow bulbs in the fogs for little while before upgrading to 35w yellow HIDs. Sorry don't have any pics of the lights or else i would post them. If you anyone is interested in the PIAA ion yellow bulbs, i have them in their original box and would be willing to sell them. Just PM me if you're interested. These are the PIAA Halogen bulbs: ![]()
