Yes, with the heat in front on the floor, the under front seat vents have lots of heat for rear seat passengers.
With the dash board vents, summer A/C, the vents on the side posts in back push out the A/C.

Default Rear seat heating

I took the Santa Fe in to have it looked at for the heat problem in the rear. They told me that it is enginnnered that way, and that there is nothing they can do. They even called Hyundai.

The dealer got heat from the side vents when they closed off the front vents. The floor vents still blow cooler air.

I also closed the moonroof cover, since the ice cold glass roof cannot help warming up the car.

I love this car, but this a design flaw.

Here is a photo of the vents under the drivers seat. I took it from the floor of the rear seat. I would think if the vents are there, they should work. My Santa Fe is a 2011. Hope this helps.

Seeing a lot of complaints on rear heat on Edmunds.com... This could be a deal breaker for people like me who are buying to bus around kids.

There is a heating problem. Mine definitely has the heat vents under the front seats and they do blow some air but that air is way cooler than what is blowing out the front heat ducts.
I see your from Missouri so not sure how big of a deal it would be. We had some friends along the others day and they said it was fine back there with the outside air temp at about 27F. I also have the heated rear seats though too.
