As with other vehicles in the past, when my free trial expired I simply did nothing. Sure enough, I soon received a letter asking me to sign up. They've just sent a second letter, just a couple of weeks later, with a better offer.
This time the offer says "6 Months free" which is essentially just a 50% off for a year-long sign on. It brings it to just over $7 per month. What deals have you scored? With one of my previous vehicles, I was able to renew for $77 for one year, then repeat the following. The third year thy refused so i bailed. I tried calling back to get the offer a few times but no dice - Other owners of the same vehicle had no problem for 5+ years to renew at the special rate.

Thanks, Geoff.
This is my first experience with Sat Radio and we like it so far. I had planned to let it go to the end, then call, but now I may take your advice and wait and see what type of deal they offer. |

on my old sonata I got them to do a 20$ for 6 months...but that was 2 years ago....just keep refusing and when they call you just be nice and tell them you have gotten a much better deal in the past and to match it....the more stubborn you are the better it gets

Total cost for year is $94. Includes taxes and royalties. Just the XM and not the traffic or any other options. They also thanked me by trying to charge me $3 for the traffic trial I finally got them to turn on after I bought the SF. I bluntly told them no way were they charging me for the trial. Had to call back and get a different sales rep to get the $94 a year. Keep calling if you don't get at least that low. Also, they will charge you $2 to send you a invoice even if you pay with CC. Don't let them tell you they will send a invoice. They charge to do that and don't let them keep your cc on file.
XM tries to get as much as they can. Their business practices aren't the best but you can only deal with them. No other options. Google xm subscription deals. You should find a few forums that you can find the most up to date deals they are offering. BTW, mine shut off before Christmas. No warnings, no programming avail. I would have thought they would contact me before the trial expired. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using AutoGuide.com App[/QUOTE] Last edited by ddauber; 01-12-2013 at 11:31 PM. |

With my prior vehicle, I had subscribed to XM for quite some time. Deciding that I really didn't use it very much, I let it go. It wasn't long before the letters and calls from XM began. I finally resigned with them. When the smoke cleared, I got the service for $25 every 6 months. That deal was in effect for 1 and 1/2 years....right up until I got the Santa Fe. It will be interesting to see where they stand when my trial period is up this time around.

I have to admit they have the WORST customer service of any company i have ever called. This may sound horrible but, you can never speak with anyone that speaks english. I have 5 radios on my account and after 6-7 calls to them and finally threatening to cancel my account i am down to $87 a year per radio. If there was another sat company i can assure you i would be with them.

isn't sirius XM the comapny that gave Howard Stern some ungodly amount - so when my free trial expires not renewing.
But do have a question about Sirius - if you subscribe can you buy a Sirius radio for the house using the same subscription ? I ask because when I elk hunt one of the guys has Sirius and hooks into a sound system on a camper and it makes for great campfire tunes. But it's not being fed from his car radio unless he pulls it out of his car - which may have been the case because you can buy add on receivers for a car ? |
