Despite a clean lens, and in different ambient light conditions, the picture quality of my rear camera is rather both fuzzy and quite glared at night. A few hours later in the post dawn light, it is crystal clear and with normal light balance. Anyone else seeing this? Ideas on resolving?
Thanks, John |

Thanks.
Meanwhile I looked at some other Hyundai model forums, and it would appear the issue is not unique to the Santa Fe. I saw several statements that other brands have decent performance at night. I'll send a note to Hyundai and see what they respond. |

I have also encountered this issue and was curious if it was common across the board with SF owners. It's also exacerbated by the license plate LEDs I installed last month.

I find no issues with the rear camera at night. It looks like it is day time. I dont have the large screen that comes with the nav... maybe that could be an issue with those models?

Could be the issue: my car has the large screen. Resolution/clarity of the daylight rear view picture is quite good. Let me recheck the manual to see if there are any setting instructions applicable.

Another thought is that perhaps reflection of the license plate light off the top surface of a polished chrome license plate frame I installed is sufficient to impact the optics.

No issues at night on mine, with the large screen. No plate frame, either. That sounds like it may have something to do with it - good sleuthing.

I've noticed a fuzzy or fogging view with my back-up cam (with the nav screen) but it's not consistent so I attributed it to just a foggy lens occasionally. However, in reading other postings I understand there is suppose to be a warning tone when in reverse and close to an object. I've never heard any sounds or tones from my system. Is there suppose to be a back-up warning tone. (2013 Santa Fe Sport with everything)
