Default Remote Start for Non-BlueLink (Canada)?

Has anyone come across an aftermarket non-invasive remote start?

By non-invasive I mean something that doesn't affect Hyundai warranty

Not sure if I want/need one but since we don't have the BlueLink alternative up here I thought I'd start looking around to see if it's even a possibility.

Just got a Viper remote start system installed. Not sure if the actual system or aftermarket vendor were the reason but my dealer said if I get this unit installed by this vendor then it's all covered under warranty. So I bypassed the dealer and went to vendor myself for cheaper.

Would you mind sharing which model you got? Can the factory remote be programmed to start the car?

When we got the we asked for remote starter also. The dealer (or subcontractor)installed an aftermarket one (no idea what brand) but they said is covered under warranty as was done through the dealer. The inconvenient is that you have to carry another small remote. So far so good .

Wish it could be done, but highly unlikely. They are two different systems that are not designed to talk to eachother. If anyone knows of such an option, I would be interested because I don't look forward to carrying two fobs around.

I have had Viper 5901 for 4 years and its been trouble free and and I love the 2 way LCD. Also one reason I did not go for the Limited on my HL...no push button start, therefore, no extra fob to carry around.

I recently purchased the Sante Fe 2013 Turbo.
The dealer included the car starter in the deal of the car.

Problem is that is back-ordered from Hyundai????

Does anyone have a factory installed car starter in their 2013 Sante Fe?

I am getting impatient and thinking of going after market or maybe going down to Toronto or the States to get one installed.

Big ice storm up here in Canada.

I did not know that you could get auto start from Hyundai. I see the attraction if it is one key fob that handles all the functionality of the regular fob, keyless entry and start plus the start function. However, factory starters are generally unreliable and have very poor range. I can easily start my car when paying for my things at the cash in a Costco. Mine has almost a 1KM range, yes, line of sight. But it means that starting or locking (which is two way so my remote shows whether it is locked/started/temp) from inside a building or at a distance is absolutely no problem. I have heard of people having trouble starting a vehicle on the driveway from inside their house using OEM starter, unless they stand at the front door or front window. Anyway, all depends on individual needs and circumstances. Hopefully the Hyundai starter is much better.

Your Canadian so you shouldnt complain about the winter! we have been through this for many years. A car heater is not going to change anything. Put on a thicker coat! I am heartbroken to hear someone from Canada cant handle the cold.

It's not us Canucks that are complaining about cold. We simply want to look after our ride and make sure it's nice and warm before we stomp on the gas to spin our wheels in the snow
