Jesus There is a long precedent for this and it has been gone over ad nauseum. The burden of proof is on the dealer to prove you did not do the oil change. First of all, if you change your oil regularly , there isn't going to be an internal engine failure. It just doesn't happen. Second, if there is a failure under the warranty, they're just going to do the reapir. Just save your store receipts for the oil. Matt |

Where are people getting the 3750 mile OCI? I'm pretty sure all the manuals say 7500. Is this the severe interval? It's still too frequent. It goes against common sense to minutely track ones mileage in order to save $20 on gas and then to promptly waste it by changing your oil twice during the service interval. It will have no impact on the longevity of your engine. Imagine how much oil is wasted by people changing their oil using outdated OC intervals.

Thanks for clarifying...didn't have my manual in front of me. My hope is that using full synthetic and a good oil filter will allow me to use the normal driving interval vs severe. I don't tow, drive in sand or anything like that, but I think I might do a lot of short trips as part of my job that may classify me as severe.

Got my first oil change today. Receipt did not show what oil was put in so I ask the service advisor. He said they put synthetic 5w-30 in and it is good for 7500 miles on the turbo. The sticker for next oil change also shows 7500 miles.
What do you guys? |

I haven't had my first oil change yet, but I'm going to use full synthetic (5w20 in winter, 5w30 in summer) and follow the recommended "normal" interval of 5,000 miles (vs severe, which I may qualify for since I do a lot of short trips). I personally wouldn't go 7500 miles even with full synthetic and a top oil filter just because of potential warranty issues and the fact that this turbo runs very hot. That's my opinion but would like hearing others'.

I suggest you follow the 5000 mile oil interval. You spent a good junk of change on the vehicle, don't cheap out on the oil or oil interval.
